Compass Point is a modern and superbly well equipped seaside holiday property located in the prestigious Compass Point complex which has a prime seaward facing position in Carbis Bay and is just a short walk down to the golden sands and clear turquoise waters of Carbis Bay Beach. The surrounding area is dominated by National Trust headlands and dramatic coastal cliff walks with the South West Coastal Path right on your doorstep.

Guests also have easy access to the stunning sea terrace of the Compass Point complex which has panoramic sea views towards St Ives harbour in one direction and Godrevy Lighthouse in the other and this allows outside dining and sunbathing. There is also a private car parking space which is big enough for 2 cars which is a very rare feature and the close proximity to the small railway station gives guests the great option of leaving the car and taking the very popular tourist train into St Ives, taking just a few minutes along a single track and which follows a wonderfully scenic path along the coast.

Internally, the apartment has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms which is a rare feature in St Ives and enjoys stunning sea views from the Living area and Master Bedroom across St Ives Bay. Compass Point is beautifully staged to Cornish Tourist Board Standards and will sleep up to 6 guests in total comfort. The Kitchen is extremely well equipped with integrated appliances including a Dishwasher, Washing Machine and very large Fridge Freezer. The dining area and living areas are open plan with a large dining table and 6 chairs and there is a large three seat sofa, two seat sofa and additional sofa chair where guests can really relax and enjoy the sea views. There is a large flat screen television, DVD player, Stereo system, Wifi internet access and a selection of classic board games.

There is a modern family bathroom with a large bath with shower over with an additional en-suite shower room off the Master Bedroom. There are two large double bedrooms with a flat screen TV in the Master Bedroom and in the third bedroom are two single beds.

Outside there is a separate storage area for storing the patio furniture for the terrace and which can also be used for bikes and surfboards.

In terms of local facilities, the nearest supermarket is a Tesco which is less than 5 minutes drive away off the main A3074 road into St Ives and where there is a great Costa Coffee with fantastic sea views and which also has free Wifi. There are also banks, hairdressers, a chemist, newsagents and general stores all a short walk away in the centre of Carbis Bay. During the day when on the beach there is a cafe and food outlet as well as a bar within Carbis Bay Hotel.

The apartment is situated on the first floor, access is via a small flight of stairs. There is a security video entrance system. The Kitchen comes equipped with, kettle, toaster, full dinner set, wine glasses, mugs, tea towels, first aid kit, Iron & Iron board, full assortment of pans, jugs, cutlery and other general cooking utensils. The Master Bedroom has a King Size Bed with ensuite & TV, Bedroom 2 has a standard double and Bedroom 3 has twin beds and balcony to rear. All bedrooms have a wardrobe and chest of draws, bedside tables with lamps. The Lounge has a 3 seat sofa, a 2 seat sofa and single armchair with a flat screen TV and DVD. The en-suite has a shower, wash basin and WC, the family bathroom has shower over bath, wash basin and WC. There is a useful information folder including a list of local restaurants, comprehensive tourist information and train timetable. For use on the outside terrace there is a full patio set, comprising a table 6 chairs and a parasol.

Amazing in every way

A wonderful apartment overlooking Carbis Bay, ideally situated for the sandy beach and either catching the train or walking into St Ives. So many things to do and places to visit within easy travelling distance. We had an amazing three generation family holiday with something for everyone.

bright, tidy apartment in great location

We booked this apartment for our family of 4 plus one other for 12 nights at the end of a long UK trip. Brian was very helpful during booking answering a stream of questions and providing all the information we needed. The apartment was clean, well set up and the views are superb. We had everything we needed during our stay. The walk to St Ives was enjoyable if not exactly relaxing but it was nevertheless great to be able to get there without parking hassles. I do not hesitate to recommend this property.

A perfect holiday

We had a great holiday at Compass Point, the location is great with lovely views out over the sea and its just a short walk down to the beach at Carbis Bay and where you can also pick up the coastal path. The terrace provides plenty of outdoor space if the weather is nice and the apartment is both very clean and well equipped with everything you could possibly need for a self catering holiday. Communication with the owners was all very efficient and all in all a perfect stay and we'll certainly recommend this property to friends and family.

Great New Year Break

Our family stayed at this lovely apartment at Compass Point over New Year and we all had a brilliant time and were even able to spend time with the children on the great sandy beach as it was relatively mild and the sun even made an appearance! Its just a few minutes walk down the hill to the beach, a little longer coming back up the hill.

We have stayed in this apartment before and at different times during the year and I am pleased to say that the high standards have been maintained. The cleaning was excellent as ever, the apartment was fresh and the towels and bed linen were nice and clean. The booking procedure is very straightforward and communication from the owners is always very efficient. We got a great deal over New Year and the owners are always open to sensible offers so try and you never know!

What we really like about this apartment is the fact that it has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms which is quite rare and the furnishings are also modern and the kitchen extremely well equipped indeed so it really is a home from home for us.

Its also worth mentioning that the parking arrangements with this apartment are great as you have the best car park space in the whole complex because as it is right at the very end you can in theory double park without blocking anyone else in and therefore have 2 very valuable spaces just a few seconds from the apartment entrance!!. Parking is becoming a major issue in the area with double yellows going down everywhere so expect to have to pay to park your second car!

There is a large communal sea terrace and although we did not use it much on this trip, in the past we have set up the patio furniture and then left it for the entire duration of our holiday, the owner just requests that you bring it back in if it rains but there is a handy outside storage area so no problems. The views from the terrace are amazing, especially into St Ives harbour and we always found the terrace quiet and rarely busy even during the higher season.

We used the train service into St Ives quite a lot, so handy and very cheap and I would also recommend walking the coastal path to Lelant for the views, after which you can hop on the train back. The local Tesco is also a few minutes drive away and it also houses a Costa Coffee so you can sit overlooking the bay and also take advantage of the Wifi.

We will certainly hope to be back very soon and would not hesitate in recommending the apartment to family and friends.

12 Compass Point, Carbis Bay

This apartment was very well equipped and so we didn't need to think about anything other than food when we arrived. The views are absolutely beautiful over Carbis Bay from the Lounge window and the main bedroom. The only thing missing with the layout was a balcony which we usually have on holidays. The outside area was completely separate and could be used by the whole block of flats. I would certainly recommend the apartment as the location to the local train line into St Ives was a two minute walk away and cost £1 each way. To walk to St ives took us 40 minutes and the views were stunning. The Tesco store was a 20 minute walk and in the car 5 minutes.

Carbis Bay is just less than 2 miles from St Ives. You can walk along the picturesque coastal path into St Ives in 20 Minutes in one direction or the village, beaches, dunes and golf course of Lelant in the other. If you are looking for the magnificent scenery of St Ives Bay but want a slightly quieter life then Carbis Bay is a great base. The direct access to the St Ives branch railway line means that the car may never be required. Historic St Ives itself is renowned for its cosmopolitan mix of restaurants and cafes, art galleries, beaches and scenery and whether you are simply looking for a week on one of the many beaches, or an energetic mix of surfing, golf, walking or diving, there is something here for you. Further afield, Penzance, St Michael's Mount, Lands End, beautiful Sennen Cove (surfing), Padstow (cooking courses with Rick Stein), Newquay (indoor water world) and St Austell (Eden Project) are all within easy reach either by Car or Train.
