An amazing place near Bruges
The location was very convenient. There is a bus that runs every ten minutes that can take you into the town center, or you can walk. There is a grocery and a butcher nearby, as well as restaurants. The house has plenty of space and the outdoor area is nice for grilling and there is even a fire pit to use. Anna was amazingly helpful and gracious and I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again, or recommend this to anyone.
Excellent stay in Bruges.
From the moment we booked this house and were greeted by Annie, we felt very welcomed in her big, sunny and spotless house. It’s conviniently located in a small quiet town of St Michaels which is only 10 min walk from Bruges train station. Annie welcomed us with a homemade apple tart, a freshly made pot of coffee, a tray of grapes and a bottle of wine. She had all printed information ready for us with places to visit and eat during our stay and kindly explained everything to us. Her suggestions didn’t dissapoint and were very superb. There are a few bakeries, a butcher shop, a grocery shop and many more in close proximity. The fact she lives next door is very convenient in case you have any questions or need help. She kindly offered to drive us to a bus stop on our departure in early hours on Saturday. I’d highly suggest staying in Annie’s house on your Bruges visit and would like to stay again.
Thank you very much Maya! You are welcome again! A
We had planned to spend 5 days showing my sister and nephew, from South Africa, around Bruges, where we had previously had a wonderful time.
Unfortunately I could not travel due to a serious back problem, so I had to stay at home and let them find their own way around.
Luckily they found Anna very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable and felt "at home" straight away.
The house was very clean, comfortable and well appointed and had everything they could need. It is also very close to the Town and the Railway Station, which made access easy for them.
They really enjoyed their stay here and so after a back operation soon, we'll be coming here to stay too.
The house is close to the centre, just a ten minute bus ride away. Lots of space and very quiet. Loved it.
Thanks Sara! You were very good guests
Very good holiday accommodation
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in De Druivelaar which had everything we needed and enough space to fit our family of 4 twice over. We paid 660 euros to stay for a week at the beginning of June which I thought was very good value for money considering the size and quality of the accommodation. The house is about a 25 minute walk south of the historical centre of Bruges (about 15 minutes from the station), in a modern, affluent suburb which provides a pleasant antidote to the tourist-packed centre. There are plenty of food shops close to the house, including a couple of supermarkets, but only one good restaurant, a pizzeria which was very popular with the local residents. We never had a problem finding a parking place on the street close to the house. As well as Bruges itself (pretty but expensive), the house makes a good base for exploring Gent, the Belgian coast and the WW1 battlefields around Ypres, all of which are within an hour's drive (the roads in northern Belgium tend to be very busy, however). Language is not really a problem because everybody we encountered seemed to speak perfect English ! All in all we had a thoroughly enjoyable holiday and I would unreservedly recommend this property.
