I am originally from Keston in Kent but moved to Herefordshire to further my career at the time in satellite communications. I have since founded a small company in property management and repair.
Craig Dennison purchased this villa in 2004
When I saw the location I knew this was the place for me. When a large repair bill comes in and I think this is it, I must sell, I go out to arrange the sale and as soon as I get there the magical beauty of the area prevents me from considering selling.
There are so many things to see and do, if you would like a list before booking please email me and I would be happy to provide you with the many gems I have found, Far too many to list here. On the other hand if you want to relax reading a book in beautiful peaceful surroundings this is also the place to be.

This is a lovely villa with great garden and views. The property is easy to access from the main road and whilst there are a couple of other villas nearby it is very secluded and private. Unlike some of the villas we have stayed in, a lot of care and thought has been put into the outside space (where you tend to spend most of your time in the summer) and it is great for adults and children alike. The pool was fantastic - very clean and clearly visible from the patio and kitchen so we could keep an eye on what our child was doing. The inside space is very well laid out. Maggie who we met soon after arrival was very helpful. In terms of location the villa is about 50 mins from Malaga airport and about 20-30 mins inland. The are a number of small villages nearby with supermarkets nearby. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and many thanks to Craig and Gaile for their help.
The location is very quiet and in beautiful countryside. The casa is spacious and on the whole well equipped. Our arrival was disappointing, we had shopped for the weekend but found there were no basics such as oil, salt & pepper - neither were there any matches to light the gas hob! We had invited 2 friends to join us and so we were particularly disappointed that there was no glass ware to speak of - only fairly grotty plastic - in contrast to the beautiful table setting featured on the website and in the local information guide. However, when the "caretaker" arrived on the Monday she immediately remedied the situation - so we know it is at least equipped for 4. The website does feature the games equipment that is provided but we found the football table particularly intrusive because it blocked the beautiful view from the terrace and it is so heavy it cannot be moved.
The property is clean and well maintained though the pool was only cleaned once during out stay rather than weekly. The local information file provided was very useful if finding local facilities, places to see and restaurants. The Hotel Vinuela is particularly beautiful. Most importantly for us our dog was welcomed and he enjoyed his stay and the countryside very much!
The villa is actually better appointed than description suggests. The quality of finish is very good and the maintenance is excellent. No gritty corners or mouldy bits in the bathroom or marks on the paintwork. March weather was not particularly kind to us this trip and I would suggest May as the perfect time to visit here, we found the villa a little chilly in the evenings. There were heaters available though and any holiday let is cheerless in poor weather, the stunning views draw your attention out. There are a few villas in the vicinity but very little noise and on our visit we were hardly aware of neighbours. The access route is steep but after the first time you don't think about it. We found the automatic hire car handled this well. The wifi was good, television channels would be limited if you were an avid watcher and plenty of available eateries. The local information provided was excellent and helpful. Tips - remember a little bag of salt, sugar etc, buy a map if you want to tour a bit. Visitors would perhaps welcome a basic photocopied map showing local places of interest that they could take with them for day trips. Truthfully, no faults, and we are fussy. I have already recommended the villa to family.
Casa Huerto is located in beautiful surroundings of Lake Vinuela. The villa is accessed by a steep and concrete surfaced road which is well signposted off the main road (A-356). It is set in a small group with two other villas (which do not overlook) and feels quiet and secluded. The living room is large with a high roof, and has patio doors that open out onto the terrace which gets the early morning sun and starts to be shaded from mid-morning for the rest of the day. The kitchen has a 4 ring calor gas hob and an electric oven, large fridge/freezer and washing machine. There is also a set of patio doors leading out to the terrace. There are 3 bedrooms in the villa each with 2 very comfortable single beds (pushed together to make a large double in the master) and very important air conditioning, as the day time temperature hit 40OC during our stay. Outside the swimming pool has built in steps and a hand rail which makes it easy for getting in the pool, which gradually slopes down to approx. 2m depth at the far end. The pool is enclosed by a metal fence. In July the pool was a perfect temperature, cold enough to be refreshing but warm enough to make it quick and easy to get in. From the terrace you get great views over to the other side of the valley and the mountain La Maroma (6800ft), but to see the lake you have to walk to the seat at the end of the garden, lovely in the evening but too hot in the midday sun. There are some small shops locally (10 minute drive) including a nice bakery for the breakfast bread and pastries. Velez Malaga, a 15 minute drive towards the coast, is a large town and has a number of large supermarkets and a large shopping centre close to the motorway.
Casa Huerto is a very comfortable villa set in beautiful area of southern Spain and would be ideal for any family or group looking for quiet villa in semi remote setting.
Wir haben 12 wundervolle Tage im Casa Huerto verbracht und können diese Finca nur weiterempfehlen.
Had a lovely relaxing week here. Very comfortable and clean and if you have a family, plenty to keep them occupied with table tennis etc. all on hand. Nice and quiet, secluded but not isolated.
Car essential. Will no doubt return again.

The Viñuela Valley is situated in the Málaga province and has an excellent location east of Málaga. Many visitors choose to return to the area year after year. The views from all the windows across to Lake Viñuela and up to Mount Maroma in the National Park are simply stunning. If you can bear to leave the peace and quiet of Casa Huerta's villa and pool there are so many things to do in this area. A 20 minutes drive from the Mediterranean resort Torre del Mar takes you up to the valley with the glittering Viñuela lake among the hills that mostly are covered with olive trees and almond trees. Nestled in the mountains are the white and beautiful villages Alcaucín, Viñuela, Los Romanes and further up Comares, Periana and Riogordo. Prepare a picnic basket and go to the nature area above Alcaucín with its incredible views or drive down to Torre del Mar and try some of the fantastic seafood restaurants that borders the seafront like a string of pearls. There are two good 18 hole golf courses nearby, Bavaria Golf, 15 mins and Club Anorets, 25 mins. You can also enjoy skiing in the Sierra Nevada.
If you want to experience life in a large Spanish town, Granada with the famous Alhambra is only 2 hours drive and Málaga 40 min. You are within 5 minutes of the lake and mountains and 20 minutes from the coast. Malaga is 45 minutes away, Granada an hour and a half, Cordoba or Seville by train is good – they are fast and a real pleasure to travel on. It is all very accessible.
Other Activities include a boules court and outside shuffle board court and netball hoop
