Description

Photos and Description of this 2 bedroom holiday apartment in Mokošica - Villa Celenca

Swimmingool, Terrace, a/c, sat-TV, shower, fridge

The Zucalo family offers you a relaxing stay in a modern apartment. The apartment has two double rooms, two bathrooms with shower and WC, a living room, is air conditioned and has an 18 m2 terrace with a wonderful view of the sea (Pool, SAT-TV and private parking space).

Villa Celenca is located in Rijeka dubrovacka (marina from Dubrovnik), 6 km from the old city, 3 km from the bus station, 30 km from the airport and 10 m from a bus stop. The connection with the city centre and the beaches in Lapad can be made with the regular bus line. The buses drive in intervals of 20 minutes.

Dubrovnik old city: The old city of Dubrovnik is often called the 'pearl of the Adria'.

And this city offers a highly interesting history, the impressive city walls and the stunning, clean water plus a stunning atmosphere that you can feel best by walking through the small alleys.

From the evening until late in the night life pulsates during the summer.

The orange light of the lanterns, the warm air from the sea and the peaceful atmosphere and partially spontaneous, but non-commercial street music make an evening an unforgettable experience.

The stunning lighting and the reflecting floors make the old city of Dubrovnik an unforgettable experience.

By the way, the entire old city is car free and is protected by UNESCO as a 'World Heritage Site'.

All buildings must therefore remain in their original condition.

Dubrovnik harbour: Villa Celenca is located near the marina, which is a nice place for walks and culinary delights.

Makarska and Split: Makarska and Split are great destinations for day excursions with family or friends.

Accommodation Excellent

  • 4 of 5

The apartment is great, with nice rooms, a lovely, spacious balcony with a table and chairs and a gorgeous view over the bay. The swimming pool was much appreciated and its set in a lovely Mediterranean garden. The owners were welcoming and helpful throughout. The apartment is directly opposite a bus stop with regular busses into Dubrovnik right to the Old City which is very convenient. We had a great week there and highly recommend it.

Lost just one star because the owners live on the ground floor and are always around, as are other guests, which isn't entirely clear from the ad, so may not be preferable if you want full quiet and privacy. Also for some reason their dog barked at us every time it saw us. It's a little fluffy thing and we didn't mind, but a small child or just someone who doesn't like dogs may have found it upsetting.

Very Disappointed

  • 1 of 5

An initial warm welcome gave no suggestion as to the treatment we were later to receive at the hands of owner Melo. Any perceived or real infringement of house rules was met with such severe disapproval that it beggared belief. On more than one occasion we were shouted at for such severe infractions of these rules as, and im not joking here, getting water out of the pool (!?) and one of the children dropping the insect net. This was met with screaming and shaking of his first shouting this cost money you understand!!! We have 2 children who are excitable and want to have fun on holiday but who are by no means unruly or trouble makers. It was an experience which I would describe as very uncomfortable, the feeling that we were not welcome at all and were under contstant surveilllance. There is no privacy here as the owners are constantly prowling but as long as you dont get water out of the pool then you will probably be fine. You have been warned, I wish I had been. The one positive from this was that it made us spend as little time as possible away from the place and therefore explored far more of Croatia than we would have done. We also forked out £400 on a hotel in Lapad for our last night to end the holdiay on a positive note and to get away from this dreadful place- it was money well spent. Gareth Jones.

Scottish Friends

  • 5 of 5

Once again we had a great holiday. Accommodation clean and well maintained and of course our hosts Milo and Anya were the perfect friends to visit. Pool and surrounding gardens were excellent. All Milo's fruit, food and "medicine" were superb. We will definately be going back probably in 2013 as we have a wedding in Cyprus next year. Can't wait. from Marie, Wendy, Kenny and family x Mihael can you email Julia's full address as we were going to write to her but got the address but no postcode 'the numbers at the end of her address' and Anya said to email you thanks x

Warm and Friendly Welcome

  • 5 of 5

Having previously booked package holidays abroad I was a little anxious that everything would be as we expected when we arrived in Dubrovnik. However, when we arrived at the airport the taxi we had requested was waiting for us and took us to our villa.

Milo, Anna and Mihael (and Charlie the dog) were there to greet us and immedialtely offered us a schnapps and a very warm welcome! Throughout the visit they were very kind, helpful and friendly, making sure everything was just right for us.

The villa was excellent, very clean and well kept, with beautiful gardens full of flowers and trees, the fruits of which were offered to us frequently- we made delicious, fresh lemonade a number of times during our stay and had figs and grapefruit for breakfast some mornings.

The bus service to Dubvrovnik was excellent and our family took advantage of the 7 day Dubrovnik card which gave us 20 bus journeys on any of the local buses and entry onto the city walls

and a number of the museums and galleries in the city.

Dubrovnik was very beautiful- lots of steps though running up off the main street , Stradun so be prepared for the climb! However there was always a great atmosphere and plenty to see and do. The summer festival was on while we were there was always something going on in the streets and also a number of concerts.

I would definitely recommend this accommodation and the area of Croatia.

Many thanks to the family for a great holiday- we all had a wonderful time.

Fantastic holiday

  • 5 of 5

A huge thank you to Michael and Anja for being such fantastic hosts, we were welcomed with a drink and fresh fruit from their trees. The accommodation was very clean and comfortable with a balcony overlooking the sea. The pool was an added bonus and a perfect area to relax after the hustle and bustle of Dubrovnic. Dubrovnic is a beautiful city and easiy accessible on the local bus. There is one good restaurant in the village where the teenagers especially loved the local dish of Cevapicci. The marina also serves good food, we had a fantastic week which was all too short.

Charlie and the kittens caused great entertainment, and Michael and Anja take a huge pride in their villa to ensure everything is spotless and guests are well cared for.

We look forward to returning,

Many thanks

Top of the line Villa in Dubrovnik

  • 5 of 5

The facility was excellent and the owners/hosts treated us like honored guests. We were a group of six girl friends and stayed for one week. We all agreed it was excellent and the owners treated us like family. The rooms were clean, comfortable and well equipped. The view was outstanding. Over all an unsurpassed value.
