Description

Photos and Description of this 8 bedroom holiday villa in Ostuni - VILLA HOPE

3 adjoining villas with gardens, gated pool, BBQ, pizza oven, perfect for groups

These 3 adjoining villas with stunning private pool combine to form an enormous & beautiful private complex perfect for families and large groups of friends traveling together.

Surrounded by olive groves and quiet farmland, the villas offer beautifully spacious surroundings with the flexibility to accommodate large & small groups with differing needs.

Each lovely villa has its own kitchen, living room and dining room as well as private gardens. Villa 1 sleeps 8, Villa 2 sleeps 6 and Villa 3 sleeps 4. They're perfect when traveling with children.

The stunning 12 x 6 meter swimming pool , magnificent gardens, terraces ,outside dining areas , BBQ area ,pool shower ,outside WC and a large outdoor pizza oven all make for a wonderful al fresco experience .

All the villas have air-con and Wi-Fi internet access. The grounds and terraces have wheelchair accessible .

These three villas combine to make a fantastic and flexible destination for large parties and very special occasions. They offer the luxury of 3 individual Villas that open onto glorious communal areas . They are also perfect for groups with children as each house has its own fully equipped kitchen, living and dining room with games, tv, sound system and wi-fi .

Extensive renovation work has recently been completed both inside and out of all these properties and there are nearly 1000 square meters of newly tiled terraces surrounding the houses. This not only makes them perfect for bare feet in the summer sun also ideal for those who use a wheel chair or have restricted mobility. Two of the houses are single storey and are step free.

The interiors of the Villas Hope have been decorated with delightful items from the 1950s found by the owner at local antique markets making each villa uniquely interesting but still casual and comfortable. The larger villa 1 (sleeps 8) and the villa 2 (sleeps 6) have a connecting door while the smaller villa 3 (sleeps 4) is separate but within the complex

These are definitely villas made for relaxing. And should it rain (a very rare occurrence), the larger house even has a lounge and kitchen that can handle the crowd.

The huge gardens are filled with climbing vines, flowers, herbs and trees that provide many shaded areas in which to sit and relax. The new outside lighting makes the properties even more beautiful at night. The outdoor dining table is perfect for lovely evenings of home-made pizza under the stars (why, we can even find you a pizza chef if you can't be bothered to make them yourself. And he’ll even teach you how!) while a refreshing glass of local wine by the side of the pool can’t be beat. And an al fresco breakfast under the vines? Bliss.

Acres of fruit trees, olive/almond groves and farmland surround Villa Hope and the quiet countryside is perfect for walks in the sun before a refreshing dip in the pool. And if the beauty surrounding you is so inspiring it brings out your artistic side, we can arrange a local English artist to tutor you or your group.

Bath towels are changed weekly and beach towels are provided for your jaunts to the nearby sea.

Bicycles may be also be rented with prior notice so just let us know and we'll have them waiting for you.

All in all, this place can’t be beat for a relaxing and fantastic holiday with your friends and family.

If you've decided to explore the surrounding area there is much to do. If you're eating out, the food of Puglia is renowned throughout Italy. Carovigno, 4 kilometres away, is a fortified hilltop town and home to the restaurant, Gia Sotto l’Arco, hailed by Italian food critics as the best in Puglia. Ceglie Messapica, another very pretty hilltop town just 12 kilometres away, is known as a centre of gastronomy and boasts a Michelin starred restaurant, Al Fornella da Ricci. There is also a huge choice of very reasonably priced, family run restaurants and bars, many near the beaches serving the catch of the day. These are listed with directions and telephone numbers in our 'guide book' to the area which can be found in the villas. Please leave us a note of any that you discover so we can update it for future guests.

Visit Antique markets in nearby towns every Sunday ,other local markets are weekly and great fun .They sell everything from locally grown fruit and veg to nearly new Dolce e Gabbana !. There are lists of where these markets are held at the villas, along with directions for getting to them.

The nearby Adriatic beaches are sandy or rocky, take your choice. Most of the best are a short drive from the villa with nearest only minutes away. They are safe and have lifeguards in attendance.

There are always festivals and concerts to visit and San Vito Dei Normanni is well located for day trips around the region. We suggest you search on-line for the many events that take place year round.

Many breathtakingly beautiful churches and historic buildings can also be enjoyed in the area.

Head north and within 15 minutes you will arrive at Ostuni, The White City. It is well worth exploring the twisting lanes that criss-cross this medieval city on a hill and is particularly beautiful when lit up at night. Carry on up the coast road towards Bari and you will pass through Monopoli and Polignano, both worth a wander. Inland from Bari you will discover Catel Del Monte. This amazing castle was built by Frederick II in 1240 for no apparent reason. It is visible from miles away and its mixture of architectural styles has even had Dan Brown commenting as to its symbolic meaning.

Heading West and you first arrive at the hilltop town of Ceglie Messapica, renowned for great restaurants including one that is Michelin starred. Further on you get to Martina Franca with views to Locorotondo and Cisternino in the distance.

A few kilometres further and you arrive at Alberobello, a Unesco site, with its unique type of building known as trullo. These are built from stone with conical roofs and mythical symbols painted on them. You will see many these trulli as you drive around the rolling countryside. These particular buildings are found only in this area of Italy.

To the south is Lecce, the Florence of the South. Fantastic baroque architecture surrounds you in the historic walled city which is easy to wander around as it has been pedestrianised. Carry on South and there is the port of Otranto and at the end of Italy you arrive at Santa Maria di Leuca.

To the east of the villas there is the Torre Guaceto, a protected coastal area that attracts hosts of migrating birds. There you may rent bicycles and visit the unspoiled beaches, plus there are lots of walks through the reserve.

Brindisi is only 20 km from the villas with lots to see and do. The Appian Way starts here. The port is central to the city, which was once the setting off point for the Crusaders however, it is now more popular as a place to set off by ferry to discover what the beautiful Adriatic has to offer!

About Jane Hope Kavanagh

I wanted a change of life style after nearly 30 years as a hairdreser - make-up artist for film and tv, although I still like to keep my hand in by working occasionally.

I live most of the year in San Vito dei Normanni, thankfully I'm fluent in Italian, due to owning a hairdressers in Milan a few years ago.

Jane Hope Kavanagh purchased this villa in 2004

Why Jane Hope Kavanagh chose Brindisi area

We fell in love with our 1970's built property in 2004, it has a peaceful and happy feeling, though not the most beautiful house in Puglia it has bags of charm, at least in our eyes. Also it's huge with plenty of space for everyone.

What makes this villa unique

Peace and tranquility, should you want it. Geographically San Vito is right in the middle of some of the most beautiful towns and countryside of Puglia.

What a lovely holiday

  • 5 of 5

We rented all 3 villas for a big family holiday, the villas were individually spacious so everyone had their own space whilst the pool area and large outside dining area was was lovely for us all to get together. The pool area was great for relaxing around and was great fun for the younger ones in the group. Jane was very helpful, she was staying locally so popped in regularly to check everything was okay and was a great help with local information on restaurants and places to visit, she even helped out with booking taxis so the younger ones in our group could visit the local late night night spots. We visited beautiful Ostuni and Alberobello and San Vito itself, although a working town rather than a tourist town, has a lovely square with plenty of bars, restaurant, cafe and shops and entertainment.

We all enjoyed our holiday and a big thank you to Jane for all her help.

Owner's Response: Thank you Louise for the review. It was an absolute pleasure meeting you all. I think holidays are very important times especially for big family groups. Also a great opportunity to show off Puglia to people that don't know it. It's a very special place, food is great so are the people and of course the beaches are fantastic. Tourists are made to feel very welcome here, not every resort treats tourists like the Pugliese.

Wonderful property and location

  • 5 of 5

We spent two weeks in Villa Hope last Summer, and it was a very enjoyable experience. Jane was welcoming, helpful with tip as about restaurants, where to shop, places to visit. We fell in love with Puglia and will definitely go back, thanks to an excellent experience. Don't forget to ask for Mimo, the pizzaiolo to come one evening for home made pizza using Jane's property pizza oven. A real treat! Paulina, Maxim and family

Owner's Response: Thank you Paulina it was a pleasure having you here in San Vito dei Normanni. The location of Villa Hope is perfect as we are in the middle of such interesting places to visit, Ostuni with it's beautiful white medieval city, Carovigno and Ceglie with their amazing restaurants, Lecce, the "Florence of the South" and of course all the local beautiful beaches. You certainly made the most of your trip to Puglia. It would be lovely to see you all again.

Wonderful holiday experience

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful experience when we rented this lovely property a few weeks ago. The communication with the owner was excellent and she helped us, not only with everything regarding the house, but also preparing and arranging a lovely birthday party with our own pizza baker and a beautiful cake. We also had great assistance and help during our stay with people looking in on us and helping us out with things regarding the house but also with suggesting restaurants and nice beaches and other places worth visiting.

The property itself was spacious, clean, and very well equipped with everything from a dishwasher to books, games and dvds. The pool area was great with comfortable chairs and also a covered area offering shade. We also very much enjoyed the long table under the grapevines where we all had breakfast together and dinner, drinks, cardgames and chats at night. The villa is also very well located with lots of beautiful cities and beaches nearby, you do need a car though, as it is located outside town.

I would definitly recomend this to anyone and all of us (we travelled in 6 adults and 6 children) would love to come back again.

VILLA HOPE

  • 5 of 5

I took the entire villa for a special celebration holiday. It fulfilled all my expectations and, I think, exceeded those of my guests - everyone felt at home as soon as they arrived.

Peaceful location, loads of space, very comfortable and well equipped. Lovely swimming pool. We preferred eating in to eating out, with excellent food shopping close by, great kitchen facilities, a barbecue, and outdoor pizza oven.

Lots of places to visit in the surrounding area - Ostuni, Alberobello, Lecce, Locorotondo, not to be missed, and the local town, San Vito, had a wonderful down-to-earth charm.

The owners, Jane and Peter, live nearby and were the ultimate good neighbours. They made sure everything ran smoothly throughout our stay and were happy to answer questions and offer support when needed.

If you're looking for a relaxing holiday this is the place for you!

Merveilleux séjour dans les Pouilles

  • 5 of 5
