Property was very comfortable. Had all amenities needed. A little further from the city than I thought. Would not have been comfortable walking to metro late at night so we took car service everywhere ,which was fine.
The home was very easy to get to, had inside gate parking and was just the right size for the 10 of us. We would definitely stay thete again.
We rented this house for a Girl Scout troop trip to Washington DC. We had 6 girls who were 12-13 years old and 2 adults. There are plenty of sleeping areas but no one wanted to sleep downstairs where there the 2 futons are located. The house worked out perfectly for us. The bathrooms are upstairs which could be a drawback for some but it was fine for us. We enjoyed the large dining room table and kitchen. The house had character and was beautifully renovated and decorated. We walked to the metro every day . It is only about a 10 minute walk and is straight down the street. The metro does close at dark at the fort trotten stop so you can't depend on it at night. There is parking in back but please note it is narrow and you might have to back it in if you have a large vehicle such as the 12 passenger van we had. Sherman was very helpful and responsive. We appreciated having the house to keep us all under one roof and let everyone relax every night after some very busy days! Thank you for being great hosts.
The 3 bedroom home was very clean and well-maintained. The beds were comfortable but the futons in the living room weren't ideal for sleeping. There were window air conditioners in each of the bedrooms and another on the main floor that kept the house at a comfortable temperature during a very hot week. The appliances appear to be new and are in good condition. There are two full bathrooms on the 2nd floor and plenty of hot water for showers for our group.
There was space behind the house to park two cars but it was a tight squeeze. The yard is small.
We were walking distance (about half a mile) from the Metro which was very convenient for sight-seeing in D.C. There was a Wal-Mart about 1 mile away to pick up groceries.
We had a wonderful stay! We had three teenagers and the place and location were a perfect fit for our DC vacation. The house is close to a Metro station and we were able to get around the city with ease. We were able to cook some meals which saved money on eating out. The house was immaculate and Sherman was very helpful.
We were immediately impressed with how clean this home was upon check-in! It provided everything we needed in the kitchen, plenty of linens and seemed to be well taken care of. We loved the character of the home with its pretty wood floors, big wood dining table and updated kitchen. Our only small issue was that the futons in the family room were not comfortable to sleep on. Otherwise, I would highly recommend this home to anyone. Very conveniently located, close to area attractions.
