Less than a mile to Nokomis beach, located on Casey Key, is a rare find; beautiful and quiet, yet has showers and bath house close to beach. This beach is great for walking, shelling on the 9 mile long white sand beach or enjoying the 'bongos every Wednesday and Saturday evening at sunset. There are 2 waterfront seafood dining and drinks near the quaint draw bridge that overlooks the Inter-coastal Waterway. Convenient to
groceries, pharmacy, shops, and post office.
The quaint town of Venice on Venice Island is just 4 miles (5 minutes) south of us, with lots of restaurants and shopping. Siesta Key, in Sarasota, is a 15-20 minute drive and we are just a hour drive from Tampa airport. Want to take a day trip to Disney World in Orlando? It is just a 2 hour drive.
The clear aqua blue water of Nokomis Beach and Casey Key stretches out on a shelf into the Gulf of Mexico, inviting long, easy walks into the water before you stretch out for a swim. The extraordinary, bright white sand is almost completely quartz crystal. As such,
it maintains a constant cool temperature and is the softest powder imaginable.
Nokomis has 14 miles of white sandy beach! The Nokomis Beach and Park is comprised of 22 acres with 1,700 feet running alongside the Gulf of Mexico, and 3,200 feet along the Intra-coastal Waterway. This area is known for its stunning white sand beaches that are ideal for shelling and beach combing. All types of other beach activities are available such as swimming, diving, fishing and boating. Nokomis Beach has lifeguards, free parking, concessions, restrooms and picnic tables. It is Sarasota County’s oldest public beach and is located on Casey Key just west of the Albee Road Bridge.
To the west of Nokomis is a unique barrier island - Casey Key. This is an area of residential estates, all priced over one million dollars with most of the properties being gulf front as well as bay front. There are famous people that have homes here and they enjoy the privacy that Casey Key offers.
Nokomis Beach is one of the most pristine and untouched beaches in the area, and fronts both the Gulf of Mexico and the Intra-coastal Waterway. Stroll the boardwalks for fabulous views of the beach and Gulf of Mexico. Gopher tortoises (a threatened species) live in the adjacent beach dunes and sea turtles nest on the beach every summer. An active community drum circle takes place on the beach on weekend evenings. There is a canoe/kayak launch and plenty of paddling trails in nearby Dona and Roberts Bays. Popular fishing areas are along the bulkhead on the bay side, and there is a convenient bait shop nearby.
Nokomis Beach is a public beach on Casey Key that is not as busy as the beaches to the north on Siesta Key, Lido Key or Longboat Key. There is public parking, picnic areas and restrooms. The gulf water is very clear and the sand is fine. If you look for sharks teeth on this beach, chances are that you will find some.
Due to recent guests behavior at several of our properties we have begun to include a refundable Security Damage Deposit for each of our properties. The Security Deposit will be refunded within 7- 14 days after departure.
Being a military wife and daughter, I have done my fair share of traveling around the world. I have found that one of the first things that a Mom (for those of you that do not know her first name) looks for when they first arrive in a new place is the grocery store, restaurants and shopping. Time for ourselves is second place. I thought it would be great if we could help vacationing guest's get a little quality time (richly deserved) for themselves when on vacation. There was this one day...my youngest sister called me and said that she and her family were coming to Sarasota for a one week vacation in June. I suggested to her that it might be nice if her big sister (me) could place some groceries in her unit. About that time a light bulb went off and in came this idea of marketing vacation rental homes online, reserving them and having concierge service for them as well. So it began.... We are a family owned and operated business here is Sarasota. Being a military wife and running a military household, I feel that I have an attention to detail that some do not have. Our team will schedule tee times, day spa appointments, dinner reservations and even find a nanny to take care of the kids while Mom and Dad take a day off. If you would prefer a private dinner, we can arrange for a personal chef to come an cook for you (Mom, he will even do the dishes after he cooks). The list goes on and on. The main thing is....we are here to make sure that you get the vacation home and the vacation that you deserve, want and need in today's hectic world. After you reserve your vacation home with us, call me for the little details and I will handle them for you before you arrive. Here at Kalypso Bay Vacation Rentals & Concierge our goal is to help you achieve the vacation of your dreams. After all, we all deserve to be pampered and taken care of once in a while.
Beth Hillard purchased this bungalow in 2013
We love this house, it is among our favorites. It reminded us of what a beach bungalow is supposed to be. Light, bright Caribbean colors and a certain homieness that makes this bungalow one of the cutest places we have ever seen.
Our experience was wonderful. It set up a perfect Mother's Day. The closest beach was great. The house was very clean. The neighbors were pleasant. Beth's customer service was extremely proffesional. We definitely recommend this spot to the next customers. Thank you for the hospitality.
Our experience renting Casey's Fun in the Sun Bungalow was excellent. The thing that impressed us the most was the cleanliness - it was absolutely spotless! The bungalow was spacious and extremely well stocked with amenities from laundry detergent to sunscreen. Customer service was excellent - the owner was available to answer any questions and did so promptly the few times we contacted her. Nokomis is located between Venice and Sarasota with Venice being just a few minutes drive and Sarasota about a 15 minute drive. The closest beach is located just 1 1/2 miles away - we visited it every morning for our walk and several evenings also. The only negative for us was that the area is not really suitable for walking (we drove to the beach every morning for our walk) as you have to access the main route to get to anywhere which is a heavy traffic area. However, beaches and shopping are just a short drive away. If you choose to entertain the bungalow has a very nice yard equipped with lawn chairs and a gas grill. The only reason I am not giving it a 5 star rating is that all the windows need replacing and the location was a little too quiet for us. It was necessary to drive everywhere - dining, beaches, shopping, and attractions.
We had a great time at the sun n fun bungalow in Nokomis. The location was great. We enjoyed the Nokomis beach every day. The bungalow had everything we needed and was beautifully supplied. It is just right for a fun vacation. We hope to return as soon as possible. Jan and Terry Whitesel
Comfortable, clean Florida cottage centrally located for our busy weeks of visiting our friends south in Englewood and Port Charlotte and north in Sarasota, Bradenton and Tampa. The bathrobes left for our use were a very nice touch. Kitchen, while small, was very well stocked and workable. WiFi access
easy. Found plenty of nice restaurants (Pop's) and ice cream (Nokomis Orange Grove) in area. Washer/Dryer on property a plus. We were not familiar with the set-up on the televisions and therefore had some difficulty turning them on and off. Small TV screen in bedroom took some getting used to. Great customer service.
I came down to Nokomis with my boyfriend for a relaxing vacation following my college graduation. I wanted a cosy home that was central to the beaches and restaurants. Safe to say, I was more than satisfied with bungalow. The location was a short drive down to the beach and only a short drive down to Seista Key. We spent most of our timeout an about, visiting the Mote Aquarium, snorkeling, and enjoying the sunshine. At night we enjoyed watching the sunset on the beach and even listening to the local Drum Circle. One aspect of the bungalow that we loved was the fire pit. We cooked up some bratwursts and sat around the fire for hours. I would definitely return to the bungalow on my next visit!
This little bungalow was perfect for a quiet getaway to the beach. Nokomis has a great small-town feel to it and the beach was only 5 minutes away. The bungalow had all the amenities we needed including beach towels and chairs, bicycles and a bbq grill.
