Overview

Photos and Description of this 5 bedroom holiday chateau / country house in Paunat - Les Bruguettes

5 bedrooms, 2 kitchens, 2 large terraces, 50 000 m² property, swimming pool

Complex of 2 refurbished nature stone cottages in scenic surrounding, 3km away from the Dordogne river in a completely un-spoilt and quiet region of France. Connected by 2 large terraces, amidst lush nature, situated on a hill. Gorgeous valley view to the south-west. Both houses have their own kitchen and a total of 5 bedrooms comfortably sleep up to 10 persons, allowing 2 to 3 families a holiday together without having to compromise on privacy. The pool is about 20 m from the house, offering quiet terraces without the noisy pool soundscape. – The property has internet access, a Satellite TV in both houses, 4 bicycles(optional), ping-pong table, washing machine and dryer. – If you would like to do sports, Les Bruguettes is an ideal base for bike rides, hikes, cross country runs, and kayak tours on Dordogne river. There are street markets every day in one of the small, medieval towns and villages, and trips to dripstone caves and castles guarantee great excursions.

Rental Price:

The rent indicated below applies to the entire of both houses. The houses are not rented out individually. The rent of only one house is possible in the off-season. Price modifications in this case upon request.

Surroundings: The nearby small towns with their many restaurants such as Pauat (2km) Trémolat (3km) and Limeuil (10km) are some of the most beautiful villages of the Périgord. There are not many tourists and the area is perfect to recharge your batteries, miles away from the touristic hustle and bustle. Trémolat has a first-class 3 star restaurant and an inviting bistro.

Other sports: Tennis in Trémolat and Le Bugue, horseback riding near Limeuil, golf course at about 18km.

Culture: The nearby towns of Sarlat, Bergerac, Périgueux or Saint-Émilion in the Bordeaux area are well worth a visit. Every day, there is a market in one of the surrounding villages, where you can find culinary specialities, fabrics, clothes, and pretty souvenirs.

Transport connection: If you do not plan to come by car, there is a good train connection from Bordeaux & Bergerac, where the next airports are located (Bergerac is called by Ryan Air from London Stansted).

Relaxing Holiday

  • 5 of 5

After a long drive from Calais we were met by the house administrator, Jean-Philippe who directed us the final 1 km to Les Bruguettes. Our tiredness was immediately forgotten once we saw the house and the evening views from the covered terrace. We found both houses accommodated our large party of 9, (with 3 generations of my family) easily. The living area of the large house is great for a large family. Both houses are well equipped and it is clear that the owners have spent a great deal of time and money ensuring that visitors have a comfortable stay at Les Bruguettes. The pool was cleaned frequently by Jean-Philippe, who was also on hand to offer any advice. We spent most evenings on the covered terrace eating and drinking the local wine’s. All in all Les Bruguettes is a wonderful place to stay to get away from it all and relax.

Les Brugettes

  • 4 of 5

This accomodation provided exactly what we were looking for, a relaxing week of peace & quiet in beautiful surroundings.

The houses were both clean, comfortable and well equipped - although some fans would have been a much appreciated addition as it was incredibly hot at night.

Eating on the terrace was a pleasure (apart from the wasps!) and we took advantage of the barbeque on several evenings. The swimming pool was perfectly positioned and cleaned every couple of days. The view from both the terrace and the pool is spectacular and it's an ideal place to while away the hours with a good book soaking up the sun. We had a couple of cloudy/wet days but there were lots of things to do & see so it didn't actually matter at all - we went kayaking and visited some of the local grottos/caves and castles. The aquarium was good for the kids too.

We ate out in a few of local restaurants and found the pizza place in Tremolat to be very reasonable and child friendly (it serves traditional French food as well as pizzas). Most restaurants do need to be booked in advance though.

All in all, Les Brugettes is a lovely place to stay in a delightful area of France and I would happily recommend it.

Stunning location, loads of space

  • 5 of 5

We (2 adults and a 4 year old) stayed in the larger house and had loads of room but it would easily hold 6 (though there's only one proper bathroom plus a downstaris loo). The views from the terrace and pool are stunning -gorgeous sunsets over wooded hills. The garden is dotted with mature trees and there's bags of space for kids to run around. The house is managed for the helpful, friendly owner by a lovely local couple and it was spotlessly clean when we arrived. The furnishings are simple/rustic but in a good way and everything works well. We stay in lots of places in France and we're picky! But I can't praise this place highly enough. We loved it and had an excellent week.

Owner's Response: Dear Claire, thanks for your review, which we appreciate very much. Our next project for the future will be the establishment of the solar pool-heating, insuring, that swimming will be possible also during autumn or in the early summer. Hoping to host you some time in the future again. Best regards Frank B.

Der perfekte Sonnenuntergang

  • 5 of 5

  • 4 of 5

Erholung pur.

Heerlijk ontspannen

  • 5 of 5
