Staying at Daisy Cottage on the majestic st. Lawrence river is truly relaxing, so don’t be surprised if you spend the entire week just lounging and watching the ships go by!
My family had a delightful stay at Daisy Cottage in heart of the Thousand Islands. It has a charming décor, is clean as a whistle, and the gardens are sublime. It was more than comfortable for me, my son, daughter, son-in-law, & grandson (and even my sister for a couple of days). The dock has walk into the water steps! I went swimming every day. Heavenly! The owner (next door) is a helpful and gracious host. The view is hard to beat. I would recommend staying here while visiting the TI. P.S. Those sunsets are real!
My husband and I had a perfect 10 day vacation at Daisy Cottage! Spectacular view as the white birch are now gone. Our wonderful host next door was exceptionally kind and helpful. The cottage was beyond clean. Close to all activities, boat rides, aquarium, wooden boat museum and the International Bridge into Canada. Don't forget your passport! We watched the ships ( freighters ) go by right in front of the cottage during the day, and the beautiful sunsets at night. We would definitely rent this cottage again. RENT this cottage!! You will not be disappointed!
First time at Daisy and at 1000 islands, Cottage is on a quiet lane and is warm and comfortable as shown. Weekend boat traffic was cool, many different types and ages of boats. Entertainment, dinning and sites are close by. It is a great place to kick back, relax and enjoy one of the most beautiful areas we've been too. We took our boat and kayaks which worked out very well until a rainy/windy cold front moved in, so we shopped and toured. Both could be rented in near by towns if needed. Fishing was tough in August but still enjoyable. Walks/running were great due to low traffic on a dead end street. Owner is great to deal with and takes pride in keeping the "cottage" experience up front. Very clean and well maintained. I highly suggest Daisy or the Rose, Rose would be quant for a two person gettaway. We will go back.
Just 2 miles to the village of Alexandria Bay. Walk or ride your bike. 'The Bay' has many activities, shops, restaurants, and night life. Rent boats, private watercraft of take a scenic, historical ride on a tour boat.
The Thousand Islands is teaming with all kinds of history including early military, Native American, and the incredible stories, homes and follies of the wealthy industrialist who summered here at the turn of the century.
The area has many forever wild nature trails for hiking along the river. Trails are well maintained so even the novice can enjoy.
The Canadian cities of Gananoque and Kingston are a short ride just over the 5 spans of the Thousand Island Bridge. Don't forget your passport.
