We are a married couple of 30 years and have traveled the world together. We bought our home in Lake Tahoe to build a special place for us to enjoy one of the most beautiful places on earth. We now live in Portland Oregon where we own and operate a thriving Yoga Studio, YoYoYogi and have decided to share our little slice of heaven with those who will appreciate appreciate the opportunity to escape as much as we do.
Alex and Terri Cole purchased this cabin in 2006
This is a very special place. The cabin sits at the end of a lane, on a point overlooking Diamond Peak Ski Resort and the Tahoe Forest. We opened it up with walls of French Windows and Doors to take advantage of the incredible views. When you are in this cabin, the world recedes and relaxation descends and this is what a vacation home should afford.
There is something magical about sitting in the hot tub at night, star gazing, and waiting for the moon to rise over Diamond Peak. On a full moon night, you feel as though you could reach out and touch it. Then retire to the great room and roaring fire in the stone fireplace. It's what magic nights are made of.
Would love to stay here again, thanks for the use of your beautiful home!
We had a wonderful stay. The house is lovely and secluded. We loved the hot tub. Alex responded promptly. I would definitely recommend this place.
Cabin was beautiful, cozy and very clean! The owners are so easy to deal with! Loved our stay, thank you.
This place is super cozy and has an amazing view. It was the perfect size for my family of 3. Only downside was it was dirty inside. Looked like a dog or cat had been there so there was fur all over the furniture and floor. Also if you plan on visiting any of the beaches in Incline Village be sure to arrange that ahead of time with the owner so they can request guest passes during your stay. You have to be a resident to visit the lake in this town.
Perfect place to stay in North Shore! Loved the hot tub and outdoor patio for enjoying the wonderful view.
Thanks so much to Alex and Terri - our mini-moon/3 day escape after our Napa Valley wedding was absolutely perfect! This was just what we needed and wanted, and we can't thank you enough.
We wanted a quiet getaway, far enough from our half-SF-based family so we could escape the post-wedding madness but close enough we could bring our pup and further enjoy in California/NV's beautiful mountains before heading back to our home in DC. Reservation was seamless, all information was provided amply ahead of time, check-in to the cabin was as described as were all the features in the listing. This is a lovely cabin in the tree-line, in a small village just up from Diamond Peak, and right across from the trailhead (as noted). We stocked up on supplies for breakfasts and trail snacks/beverages at the local Raleys (an impressive market for a small town, and the house had all the basics except laundry detergent, which we replaced), and then spent 2 days hiking for hours, strolling on Kings Beach, relaxing in the hot tub and on the deck, cooking and eating breakfasts in (thanks to a kitchen with the various pans, pots, and appliances needed for making eggs, veggies, and bagels any way we wanted them), and trying our new married luck at the Hyatt casino. No driving necessary for outdoor fun at altitude (we did 10.5 miles walking out the front door the first afternoon, and did a few 2-5mi runs, which all start uphill but easier going down than up - watch out for mountain bikers on the trails especially right around the house). Did need the car for groceries and any meals (or ice cream) out. Walked back home from Incline Beach/the Hyatt one night, approximately 2.2mi. Concur with others that parking could be tight at high season but we had no problem getting our full-size SUV parked out front on returns home during day or night. Neighboring cabin-cationers were friendly and unintrusive; we saw far more people on the trails than we did around our little secret cabin in the mountains. Lovely, private, relaxing, low maintenance, and perfect.
Nota bene to fellow travelers: there is ~1 uber driver who stops working around 11pm, which is also when the cab company shuts down; after that the walk up to the cabin is doable as long as you're in reasonably good shape, but make sure you have a flashlight/your phone as there are no street lights on the road up to Tyrolian Village. Would not advise running alone on this road at night given the speed of oncoming cars.
