We enjoyed every minute of our stay!

  • 5 of 5

The owner is always very hospitable to us everytime we've stayed. The house was in a good area and worked great for all of our family that stayed with us. House was large and back yard as well with a swing that the grandkids enjoyed. We'll definitely be coming back again!

Wonderful for two families with kids!

  • 5 of 5

Very much enjoyed our vacation at Wildwood! The home is comfortable, warm, and nicely located. Plenty of bathrooms for our thundering herd, and the play structure in the fenced back yard got real use and was a value. Easy walk to downtown Red River from the quiet neighborhood. Wildwood provided everything we needed, and Cindy was a wonderful host with whom to work! I'd stay here again with my family.

Our stay at Wildwood...could have been really nice, but wasn't...owner refused to address concerns

  • 2 of 5

At first look, it appeared Wildwood would be a nice place to stay. The house is in a good location, walking distance to town. With a closer look & as our stay went on, many problems began to surface. We gave the owners & manager days to address our concerns & unfortunately they continued to dismiss us.

First of all, we had no wifi from our check in & that continued over 72 hours. We were told to go to the library or cafe (which make you buy something to use wifi) & because of work & school obligations, we had no choice. We wasted hours of vacation going into town for wifi for things that could have been quickly taken care of had the wifi been repaired. When we requested the service be repaired, it was implied that we should be at the house to monitor/meet the repairmen. That was unacceptable. Once the technician was there (on day 4 of our stay), the wifi was finally working. It seems that could have been handled long before Wednesday evening, when the problem was reported on Sunday. We were given a free night, which we accepted, when we thought the internet would only be out for one day, but that was not the case.

There was zero extra toilet paper (only 1 roll in each bathroom) and a couple of trash bags, which clearly would not last the stay; these were supposed to be supplied by the owner. The manager brought toilet paper (after we had already purchased some in town) and another couple of trash bags (which were not enough for the stay). Rather than notifying us they items were replaced, she dropped them on the porch without a word.

We also found a dead mouse in the cabinet. The bedding, carpet and furniture was covered in animal hair.

In addition, the lack of professionalism from your house manager must be added to the laundry list of complaints. When she came to the house to meet the internet technician, she refused to respond to our concerns but wanted us to know about her septic system being out; she left us to stay with the repairman. While we appreciate her personal problems, they had nothing to do with what was happening at the Wildwood.

Please note the house could not sleep more than 10 comfortably as is & the pullout couch & futon upstairs were extremely uncomfortable.

We began texting with our concerns during the stay & the owner did not respond for over 3 days. The icing on the cake was the mgr's accidental text that "She needs to get a life" when texting w/ one of the renters after checkout. This was insulting and dismissive

Owner's Response: We have rented this house for 10 years and this is the worst guest we have ever had to deal with. Most of what she said is completely not true. This all took place on 4th of July weekend and our town is VERY busy. We had a scheduled service man to correct the wifi problem and he did not show, we then drove around town and found a service man who we convinced to come over and work on it. Our town is very small and secluded we do not have all of the big city amenities and quick service, they have to drive at least an hour to 3 hours to get to us. We did have a long term renter checkout the day before and had placed a mouse trap in the cabinet. As soon as we heard from the guest we were over to take care of this. Because of these inconveniences we offered the guest a free night (quite expensive during this weekend). She agreed and took it. The internet café and library (free)are both within a mile from the house. We left 11 rolls of toilet paper and 6 trash bags. I believe they ran out due to their unexpected additional night stay. We brought over tp and trash bags to them as soon as we were notified. After they checked-out she tried to cancel her last payment to us...we had already compensated her 1 night stay and she was trying to getaway with not paying. Bottom line... I wouldn't have rented to this lady if I would have known what a disaster she was going to be, I'm sure she ruined her family's holiday weekend as well as mine. P.S. Rick was great and welcome back!

The house worked great for us in accommodating all of us. It definitely needs a deep cleaning! There were areas that were really dirty. We cleaned some areas before we used them. The cleaning deposit should have been refunded to me.
