We have had a beautiful Summer, and expect it to carry through the Autumn! Don't miss the gorgeous changing colors of the leaves! the soft rustle as they fall to the ground, the crunch as you walk through them on your nice, relaxing walk through the countryside, along the white sandy shores of Lake Michigan.

Get away from the hustle-and-bustle of the city, and breath the fresh air! Relax in front of the fireplace at our cozy & charming cottage on beautiful Lake Michigan, conveniently located just a 45 minute drive from the Grand Rapids Int'l Airport and 2 1/2 hours from Chicago.

Just a short walk to the white sand beach through a top-rated park, you can enjoy your morning coffee, listening to the lapping of calm Lake Michigan, or watch the gorgeous sunset in the evening.

Not only does the park offer over 600 feet of sandy beach, but it also includes a baseball diamond, picnic tables, 2 modern restroom buildings, and a playground.

Or, enjoy drinking a glass of wine (or whatever is your preference) on the deck, in the privacy of your own miniature park, back at the cottage, surrounded by the peaceful rustling of the giant red, orange and yellow leaves.

Or visit with your friends, late into the night, watching the stars, around the firepit, roasting marshmallows...

Our lovely 2 bdrm 1 bathroom cottage sleeps up to 6 people, includes a fully equipped kitchen, a barbeque, washer and dryer, free long-distance calling and wifi, for your convenience.

If you decide to venture out, you will love the wineries, chocolaterias, steamboat tours, restaurants, pubs, art galleries, museums, parks, festivals in the nearby towns of Douglas, Saugatuck and South Haven, or go hiking up Mt. Baldy! (We include more information in our welcome package, and would be happy to answer any other questions, if we can!)

For all you beer lovers, West Michigan features many award winning micro-breweries, all within a short distance.

Why Rachel chose Fennville

We chose this property because the cottage is so inviting & cozy! We have enjoyed the beach and the local surroundings for the past 30 years, and when we found this cottage, with it's park-like yard near the beach, it was the perfect location! We wanted to spend more time here, and figured others would too!

What makes this cottage unique

It's just as beautiful in the winter as it is in the summer, and there is no end to the outdoor activities.

Great cabin for family with kids

  • 5 of 5

Our family really enjoyed staying in this cabin with our 2 kids (21months, and 5yo). Plenty of toys and the playroom in the basement kept them busy. The owner was quick to respond to any questions about the house. Everything was clean and kitchen was stocked with everything we needed. Best part was the fire pit in the big backyard, and there was even firewood provided. 2 minute walk to the lake and a nice park for kids to play in. Highly recommend this cabin to any family looking to enjoy Michigan.

Convenient and comfortable

  • 5 of 5

This was our third summer at Lakeshore Have and it was exactly as we remembered it. Comfortable, convenient and well-appointed. I took naps in the hammock, we watched the Perseid meteor shower from the park next door and collected fossils from the beach. Great relaxing vacation!

Very nice cottage! Comfy and accommodating!

  • 4 of 5

We had a wonderful week in Fennville-South Haven! The location was central to lots of neat areas. The beach access was good but the beach area is smaller than expected. For us though it works as we go to several beaches in the week. Glad to have gotten to use the home... super clean and relaxing!

Cozy and Clean Beach Family getaway!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 4 was in desperate need of a relaxing family getaway, and Rachel's home was the perfect remedy.

We have rented other Michigan properties, and this has been our favorite spot for several reasons:

* It's about 2 hours from Chicago, so an easy drive with kids

* It was very clean and well stocked. It included linens and towels, which many properties do not. The kitchen had everything and more. We loved the big electric grill and made excellent pancakes on it, all the kitchen tools we needed, plenty of sets of plates, glassware, etc..

* Bonus Items: A welcome basket that included pasta, sauce and a bottle of wine. Bottled water in the fridge and morning coffee. Some basics like tea, flour, cooking oil, mustard, sugar, etc. Bathroom had trial size items as well as a new toothbrush. The garage had beach items our kids enjoyed and bicycles.

* Air- Conditioning! It was warm when we were in Michigan and we loved the cool house after a hot beach day.

* Charcoal Grill and fire-pit: We loved using these every night.

* Comfortable beds and pillows.

* Books and games: My teenage son read your copy of Moby Dick while we were there!

* Laundry: It was nice to wash our beach towels, bathing suits and clothes.

* LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION! The home is located next store to a public park where our boys went to often and enjoyed the playground equipment and open field. Right there is a very good public beach which we took full advantage of.

Rachel was very quick to respond and very friendly. I will suggest this property to friends and look forward to returning in the future. We truly felt at home.

Fennville and the surrounding area was great! Don't miss: Fruit picking at Crane's, Oval Beach in Saugatuck, Holland Farmer's Market (I have NEVER been to a better one), The Red Dock Restaurant in Saugatuck, Virtue Cidee in Fenville for amazing Cider and a family atmosphere.

Bring bug spray!! :-)

Another wonderful stay!

  • 5 of 5

This is our second year staying at this cottage, and this time was just as fantastic as the last. The cottage is comfortable, cozy and welcoming. It's so convenient to the beach and the playground. We love walking down to the beach to watch the sunset and the short drive to Lyon's Market for an after dinner ice cream. There are books and TV for children on a rainy day, and the screened in porch is the best place to have your second cup of morning coffee. This year I mucked up our reservation, and Rachel really went above and beyond to fix it. I'm so grateful, because we would have been so disappointed to miss our fabulous week on Lake Michigan.

Beautiful, clean little cottage.

  • 5 of 5

We rent a cottage in this area every year, and this is the nicest one in which we have ever stayed. It is smaller, with just two bedrooms and one bath, but that was perfect for three adults, three children, and a senior dog. We chose this place because of it's proximity to the park, which has a boardwalk down to the beach. There are few water-level homes available to rent, and with small children (wagon, strollers, cooler) and a blind senior Labrador with bad hips, we needed to minimize our number of steps. It was an amazing surprise to have picked a very clean, non-musty, air-conditioned home with recently updated bath and kitchen. The owners obviously care about the property, and your experience with them. They respond immediately to inquiries, and have a very generously stocked home.

We brought ramps for the dog to get in and out of the house, but with only one (somewhat high) step to get onto the porch and another to get into the house, the house would be very accessible for someone with limited mobility. The downstairs bedroom was perfect, the upstairs bedroom gets a little warm, but we left the door open and turned the fans on, and that did the trick. The back deck's step is rather high, but we were able to fit a ramp from the top of the deck between two bushes to the backyard, which allowed our girl to join use for bonfires. There are ample towels and linens so that you can change the beds if you need to, which is really nice for sandy times.

The garage has a wagon, sand toys, chairs, and bikes, and the kids loved riding the driveway (without grownups, like big kids) and riding over to and around in the park (with grownups). We needed some specialty items at one point, and the Amazon delivery guy put them right on the screened porch for us while we were at the beach. Technically, no dogs are allowed at the beach, so don't expect to sit out with your pet all day. No one had a problem with us bringing her down the boardwalk, to the water's edge, and standing in the surf, or having a little rest, but we made a point not to camp out with her all day like we do when we rent a home with a private beach. There is a fruit stand right up the road, and there are some neat little markets in town. We noticed that there were several Mexican markets in Holland, so on a rainy day we went up and stocked up on things we can't get in our rural home town. The blueberry farm is quite close by, as are several good restaurants that do carry out.
