Quail Cottage is a charming, spacious 1 bedroom freestanding cottage, with its own secluded patio and outdoor seating with a wonderful view. The main living room has high ceilings, and lots of light from the large south facing windows, but is shaded in the summer from the sun, by the trees around it. The communal room boasts a full kitchen, dining table and breakfast bar overlooking the patio, has a really comfortable Queen sofa bed (sleeps 2 ) , dvd, netflix, internet and beautiful faux finished walls that go throughout the cottage. The bedroom, also large with big windows, has a king bed, and a queen futon sofa bed for extra sleeping options, and dvd, and netflix. The cottage has a full bathroom with bath and shower, and is decorated in wonderful sea colors. The whole cottage has a beautiful Zen comfortable feel to it.
Quail cottage is situated on a 2 acre property at the end of a lane, parking is free and next to the building. There is a large patch of lawn at the end of the property, with hammock and incredible views, that guests can use, for picnicking and soccer games with the kids. There is a large horse paddock at the back of the property, with 2 horses, Bella is the dun, and Mariah is the grey.
The trails for biking and hiking are right out the door, no need to drive anywhere. Mountain bikers and hikers would love this place. This is a very family and dog friendly place, with lots of space for kids to run around outside. There is a trampoline round the back of the main house.
This property is a working farm, with dogs and horses, chickens and garden, and kids and all the associated activity, and centrally located for Sedona and hiking biking trails. You get the best of everything here, a rural setting, surrounded by the gorgeous red rocks, hiking out the door, with all the restaurants and shops Sedona has to offer, 10 minutes away.
I am a mother of 3, and a Homeopath by profession. I grew up in Africa and England, and settled here 15 years ago. I live in the main house on the same 2 acre property, with my dogs, and kids. Whoever stays in the guest house needs to be dog and children friendly, as we have a free range policy with them, and needs to be ok with a farming environment - (horses, chickens are not free range).
I am super busy, so all you may see of me during your stay is my car tail lights as I drive the children to their various baseball , ballet and school activities. I am chief taxi driver, cook and cleaner right now. But I am available by phone. I don't want to impose, so just let me know if you need anything- info or just want to connect. I am around.
Bridget Cardinali purchased this cottage in 2012
I love this property because it is kind of hidden away , and yet 5 minutes from town and a 5 minute walk to the creek. YOu have the feel of rural with trees all around the house and yard, shading the property in the summer, and the horses over the fence, and the red rocks all around. The hiking and biking trails are right out the door, so convenient to access. Its bike in bike out country.
The hidden away quality of this property makes it really special. That we are so close to everything and yet so rural, makes it such a relaxing place to be. Having Oak Creek so close by is a joy, with all its incredible beauty and hiking/biking trails to Cathedral Rock amongst others. We always go swimming there in the summer months.
Lying in the hammock on the lawn, and listening to the birds, with the red rocks all around and the pine trees, is pure heaven.!
Please note: the above rental is an accommodation within our private home and is not a'vacation home' rental.
My husband and I are photographers and booked this place for a weekend since we had photoshoots in Sedona. I wanted some nice since we were making a gateway trip. We were bringing our 2 pugs with us.
We needed to check in earlier to leave my pugs at the place while my hubby and I went to work. Bridgett was amazing. She was so accommodative to our needs and went out of her way to have the place ready for us.
We arrived and when we first walked in my husband said —This is niceeeee!!! and he was right! The cottage was more than we expected, incredible well equipped. Very cozy, well maintained and it was hard for us to leave!
The walks around the property were very nice and my husband captured one of the most amazing photos of the stars at night. Things you don't see at the city.
Highly recommended. You won't be disappointed!
Thank you so much Bridget for sharing this little piece of paradise!

The owners are super helpful and extremely nice, humble. We had an amazing stay at the cottage. Very comfy bed, spacious and quaint cottage! We couldn't have chosen a better place with better owners. Everything was perfect!
My family stayed two nights and were very happy with the accommodations. The location is only minutes away from hiking at Red Rock Crossing, but still very convenient and quick to get to other areas of town. My kids loved meeting Bridget's family and dogs, and the bed arrangements were perfect for our family. Bridget provided great info about the area and thoughtful amenities.
I love the proximity to great hiking and cycling while being far enough out of the main part of Sedona to enjoy the conveniences without dealing with the people or traffic. The cottage is very well-appointed and offers privacy, relaxation & comfort.
Quail Cottage is a quiet retreat down a scenic road in red rocks country, but only a 5-10 minute drive from Sedona for dinner. We saw a bobcat one morning when heading out for a hike. Cottage is clean, comfortable and well-equipped. Bridget was an accommodating host who allowed changes to our reservation when needed. We would definitely stay again.
Peaceful, accommodating, conveniently located to hiking and entertainment and an overall wonderful place. We would highly recommend and would stay here in the future.
Sedona has the most amazing hiking and biking trails, and is a place of incredible beauty. It is only 2 1/2 hours away from the incredible Grand Canyon, and Monument valley and other sites of beauty are reachable by car. The wineries of Page Springs, along the beautiful Oak creek canyon are a must see. While you are here you can also go ballooning , or take a helicopter ride to see the amazing vistas here. or walk the 5 minutes to beautiful oak creek canyon and go for a dip. In the winter Flagstaff's ski mountain is only 45 minutes away and has very reasonable day rates or 3 day rates , if skiing is your thing.
In town (uptown) there are many shops and resorts and healing workshops and modalities to take advantage of.. there is a list of recommended massage therapists and other healing practitioners in the cottage if you are looking for that. there are some wonderful spas to take advantage of , also some recommended in the locals list.
