Overview

About the property

The perfect place to get away or fish the amazing Trinity river!!

Whether you desire lots of action or restoring peace and quite, Trinity County has much to offer. Camping and hiking in the Trinity Alps are favourites of many. Some like to water ski and swim up at Trinity Lake while others prefer to troll on the placid waters of Lewiston Lake. Fishing, shopping in historic Weaverville, bird watching, white water rafting on the Trinity, or just stay and relax--River Haven cottage is perfectly situated to accommodate your vacation needs.

River Haven Cottage is a two bedroom, two bath (with sunroom) vacation home located on the beautiful Trinity River in the mountains of Northern California. Just 35 miles West of Redding near the old mining town of Lewiston, River Haven Cottage is an easy four-five hour drive from the San Francisco Bay Area.

As the world becomes more developed, spending time in nature is an increasingly important part of our lives. We would like to share with you a place that is very special to us - a place to reconnect with friends, family, and the beauty of the natural world. And to help minimize the environmental impact of your travel to and from River Haven Cottage, we will direct a portion of the fees you pay towards the purchase of carbon offsets from Native Energy. These offsets will be used to fund renewable energy projects in the United States.

Beautiful Retreat

  • 4 of 5

Lovely location right on the river as promised: a very quiet area with lots of wildlife to watch, including deer walking right through the yard. The house was comfortable and well-provisioned. We missed having WiFi, and there was no TV reception, so we entertained ourselves with each others' company and books and walks.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your feedback. We work hard to make River Haven Cottage a great vacation experience. Would you be kind enough to give us some specifics on your bathroom cleanliness rating. We really want to make our rental the best it can be.

Excellent fishing! Relaxing home!

  • 5 of 5

We loved it! It was clean and quiet and the kitchen was very well equipped. The deck above the river is so relaxing w.ith the river sliding by. The location is very convenient with town just five minutes away. And the fishing was off the hook! My boys caught thier limit of tasty trout every day we were there. There were plenty of extra blankets which was good because the beds are short and my son is very tall so we made him a nice bed with the available bedding. There was a family of deer that came into the yard and enjoyed the green lawn. We would definately stay there again. Thank you to the Sumners for keeping such a pleasant vacation rental.

A wonderful family experience.

  • 5 of 5

Overall our experience was spectacular! I called the owner a few times before leaving for our trip and he answered or called me back immediately. He also answered my emails as I had many questions, he was very helpful. The house was clean, beautiful and exactly as explained by the owner, there were no surprises. The kitchen was stocked with all of the comforts of home. There were no signs of mice or any bug or spider and if there were we would certainly take into consideration that we are in the mountains, there are suppose to be all different spiders, bugs, mice, rats etc. etc. but there weren't as the house is cared for very well. This is a quiet escape from the reality of city life that is beautiful and pristine. The river runs right in front of the house and the wrap around porch is shady and inviting for a nice dinner or a wonderful nap. There are many activities to attend to but really we were looking forward to the day that we didn't have any plans so we could take a long walk then watch and listen to the river going by. These people open their homes for us to enjoy. They have their own family memories there that they cherish. We now have great family memories made there. We will defiantly go back to River Haven Cottage with our family.
