Photos and Description of this 4 bedroom holiday cabin in Long Valley Junction - Ponderosa Pointe

4 Bedrooms, 2 Bathrooms, Sleeps 8

Looking for a comfortable place to stay on your vacation to southern Utah? Want to be close to both Zion and Bryce National Parks? Ponderosa Pointe is located midway between both parks, making it an easy 45 minute trip to both. Our clean, cozy log cabin nestled in a grove of ponderosa pines and overlooking a grassy meadow is the perfect place to relax after hiking in the parks. The large deck is a great place to enjoy the cool mountain air, listen to the birds sing, and wait for the stars to light up the night sky.

If you choose to eat in, you will be happy cooking in our well stocked kitchen, or grilling on the deck. If you want a 'camping' experience, you will love sitting around the campfire roasting hot dogs and marshmallows! Todd's Country Store is just a short hike away and is also home to a great farmers market and BBQ in the summer months.

In addition to the new leather sofas and 55 inch flat panel TV in the living room, there are 3 comfortable bedrooms upstairs as well as a full bathroom and washer and dryer.

The basement is outfitted with a Foosball table, satellite TV and DVD player. There is also a large bedroom and a second full bathroom as well.

Why Tracy Camit chose Alton

We chose this property because it is a great cabin in a great location! The cabin is beautiful inside and the log walls and beams make it fun and unique. We purchased the vacant lot next door as well to ensure the feeling of privacy and to give our guests plenty of space.

What makes this cabin unique

Elk Ridge Estates is located midway between Zion and Bryce National Parks making it a short trip to both. The roads in the neighborhood are chip sealed, eliminating the dust that you find in mountain neighborhoods. The roads are plowed in the wintertime making the cabin accessible all year 'round. Ponderosa Pointe is located on an over sized perimeter lot which gives you a feeling of privacy, and a beautiful view of the meadow and mountains.

Guestbook comments from the manager

"It is a nice house with everything you need. You have thought on every detail. There was nothing that we missed. Great to be here. We took a lot of pictures from the house and surrounding to show to our friends and family at home. We have had a great time here."

Beautiful Home in UT National Park Area

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I, along with our 3 teenagers, used this beautiful home as our home base for our Bryce, Zion, North Rim vacation. We flew to Vegas, rented a car, stopped in Hurricane for Costco and Albertson groceries and were on our way. The home is beautiful, clean, and well cared for. The pictures in VRBO well represent the space. We arrived to a sweet welcome note and homemade dessert bread from the owner. The living area is very welcoming and comfortable, reliable wifi, cable flat screen tv, and large dining table that easily sits 8. Perfect space for our family to unwind after a day of hiking. There is a large porch area with seating, and beautiful outside fire pit. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you would need for home cooked meals - crock pot, toaster, microwave, blender, really nice pots and pans, mixing bowls, baking dishes etc. Unlike other vrbo homes we have rented, there were also extra supplies like dish soap, napkins, paper towel, coffee, filters, a variety of spices and oil, a styrofoam cooler, ice pouches in the freezer, and quart and sandwich bags. Not sure if these items are always provided, or left by previous guests, but a welcome surprise and great for packing picnic lunches. All four queen beds had comfortable mattresses and bedding. Lots of towels, and full size washer and dryer with detergent and dry sheets provided. This home is in a small neighborhood, with homes on large lots, very peaceful, quiet area, beautiful star gazing - at least a 20 minute drive to get to a grocery store with any sort of variety. There is a small convenience store very close, and a state run liquor store about 15 miles away. From this home, you can easily do day trips to incredible Zion and Bryce. The trip to the north rim took longer, but a beautiful drive, and the town of Kanab UT is charming. We scheduled a two hour tour at the Best Friends Animal Sanctuary which we all enjoyed and appreciated - it is an amazing place. In addition, in Hurricane we rented ATV's through South Utah Adventure Center (see excellent trip advisor reviews) - 5 hours trailing through dunes, desert and rock formations. We did this on a week day, so very few other atv's in the area at that time - we loved it. Our family would highly recommend this home, would stay here again if in the area. Read the guestbook - lots of love and appreciation for this home and this part of America written in the pages

Exceeded our Expectations

  • 5 of 5

We came to Utah from Ohio. I had visited Bryce and Zion about 35 years ago while I was a Geology student. When I suggested this trip to my oldest son, he jumped into the planning phase. He wanted a cabin that was about midway between Bryce and Zion. Our final selection came down to four cabins, and we picked this one due to reasonable price and pictures.

First impression is that the cabin was very clean and well maintained. The kitchen is well stocked with every pot, pan, spice, and kitchen tool you will need. I would recommend this cabin and location to anyone coming to visit this part of Utah. Very nice touch that the owner left a hand-written note welcoming us to his cabin.

We alternated parks each day and took world-class hikes at both locations. Zion - Observation Point and Angel's Landing. Bryce - Fairyland Loop and Navajo and Queens Garden. In the evenings, we'd sit on the deck and watch 6-12 mule deer arrive. Finally, we'd build a fire in the fire ring (plenty of wood provided) and watch as the amazing Utah sky filled up with stars. WOW, what a trip we had!

Don't miss this place

  • 5 of 5

The house was immaculate and comfortable. It was stocked with everything we needed. The beds were very comfortable. The decor was wonderful. The views from the house were beautiful. It is centrally located for trips to Zion, Bryce, and a day trip to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. I would reserve this home again without hesitation.

Beautiful Mountain Cabin Halfway Between Bryce and Zion National Parks

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay so much! The house was gorgeous, clean and well stocked. The drive to Zion and Bryce was roughly an hour in either direction. We didn't mind it at all. We highly recommend this cabin. We would go back in a heartbeat!
