The 2 luxury self catering suites are part of the 'Al Veluu family residence and are perched above the exclusive restaurant 'Al Veluu' in Rogaro, the historic quarter of Tremezzo. Situated to enjoy unrivalled views of the Lake and mountains from the private terraces you can relax and unwind in an idyllic setting. The suites have been luxuriously furnished with no expense spared and are an ideal base from where you can explore the best that Lake Como has to offer. Private parking is situated outside for those travelling by car, otherwise there is a path that transports you directly to the Lakeside promenade where you have all that Tremezzo has to offer within a 15 minute walk.

The apartment was exactly as described. It was clean and tidy and well equipped, very impressive. The view from the balcony was stunning and a large glass door ensured this was available all of the time!

The initial picture, showing the lake, could be misleading as the apartment is not actually near the lake but is situated a 10 minute walk away, up a steep hill.

We received a warm welcome and although there wasn't any information in the apartment Cheryl gave us a good verbal guide on places to visit in the area. We were also given recommendations for restaurants, despite them having their own restaurant below, which we thought was very good.

Their restaurant 'Al Veluu' was extremely good; food, setting and atmosphere all excellent.

I would have no qualms of staying again.

If staying inTremezzo I would recommend visiting Cantina Follie, on the second street back from the lake, past the pharmacy, for a 'Friendship Platter' (local cheeses and cooked meats) and a glass, or two, of wine - superb.

We had a fantastic day on the ferry visiting Bellagio and Varenna, the ferries are very efficient and prompt.

A visit to Villa Carlotta is also worthwhile, the gardens are immaculate.

Croccione Apartment

We stayed for 5 nights in Sept 2008 and had a most enjoyable time. The apartment is well-equipped, furnished and decorated to a good standard and is spotlessly clean.

The balcony has a spectacular view of the lake and gets the sun all day, we enjoyed many hours on it!

The restaruant below - Al Veluu is also excellent, in fact the best food of our entire trip. Cheryl and Luca are very friendly and helpful.

You do need a car as the apartment is up a steep hill and the only way to the lake is down a narrow, winding road or about 200 steps! There is only one convenience store in Tremezzo and that isn't always open.

The only improvement I would suggest is to include some basics in the fridge such as water, milk, bread (there is tea and coffee). We arrived before the restaurant opened and there was no-one around to point us in the right direction of the shop and therefore had to wait 4 hours before we could get any food or even a drink.

Overall a very enjoyable stay indeed.

Located on the sunny Western shore Tremezzo is one of Lake Como's main destinations. On arrival you will be welcomed with a bottle of Prosecco and guided around the apartment and the facilities available to you. The nearby gardens and art treasures of Villa Carlotta are world famous especially for the spectacular display of Azaleas and sub tropical plant species. Local mountains offer easy panoramic walks and viewpoints especially the views offered from San Martino. On your stay enjoy a splendid lunch or dinner at the ambient restaurant below or relax on the terrace with breathtaking views of Lenno and Villa Del Balbianello. The nearby ferry port will transport you to all parts of the Lake so take a trip to Varenna for a visit to Villa Monastero and Bellagio to see Villa Serbelloni. Villages accessible by car or bus include Menaggio with its nearby hamlets and Lenno with the famous Villa del Balbianello both within 10 minutes.
