Accessible, clean and spacious cottage

  • 5 of 5

Really enjoyed our retreat to Mt. Washington. The cottage was clean and perfectly laid out for our group ( large living room-dining room-kitchen combined space). Easy to ski out, but skiing in is a bit of exercise.

Great funky and well equipped old school chalet

  • 4 of 5

We just spent a fantastic long weekend with a family group of 8. They'd had some issues with the previous guests leaving the shower running which caused myriad problems for the caretakers. It was a nuisance, but clearly not their fault and they did everything they could to resolve things quickly. The owner and the caretakers were on top of things, ensuring repairs were made quickly and that we had everything we needed for our stay. As other reviewers have noted, the trash compactor is an issue and the owner said it should be replaced. It is an older chalet, yet amazingly well equipped. You could cook your Christmas dinner with no problem! The views are spectacular and the location handy for the old part of the resort. The stove's hieroglyphics are a little confusing, we figured it out but may have been running on convection as things were pretty hot. Loved the fire and the many candles. Quiet, and comfortable, we would certainly recommend this spot for a cosy stay. You'll have everything you need.

Absolutely Fantastic! Cozy, Warm, with everything you need; and the View/Sun Sets = Amazing!

  • 5 of 5

As a group of 3 families with 3 babies, 2 pre-teens, being closer to the car was great as with all the 'Stuff' we had to trek in... So then the trek to the Main Lodge we thought would be 1/2 hr. or more. Nope, it was 20 min.s (if that), and that's moving at a snails pace with babies in slays, stopping all the time to take pictures and enjoy the trek. Inside the Chalet was super warm, the beds all comfortable & cozy with big puffy duvets(& the rooms are all spacious), tons of towels, a HUGE jet tub to soak out the muscles, or an excellent Sauna to sweat it out. Lots of space, 2 huge couches that let you stretch back, great kitchen area, large dinning table + extra chairs... Dishwasher = Yeah! Washer/Dryer = Double Yeah! Hot plate for pancakes, while Dads are frying up eggs & bacon = Yeah X 3! Coffee/Tea, good to go (even a grinder if you for got to pre grind your Java). Plates, glasses, mugs, there wasn't anything we wanted for... Just open a drawer or cupboard and Voila! We all really enjoyed the stay and would so go back again, and again, and again (Games night around that big table was just too much fun; everyone loved it)! Thanks for having us!

Mount Washington Snow Chalet.

  • 4 of 5

Overall an easy place to stay, just don't expect modern and fancy! We had our dogs with us, so that made our visit wonderful as we never had to worry about them harming anything, due to the age of the furnishings and interior.

Gorgeous views, and the wood stove & supply of wood was a big plus!

The chalet is quite dated and old, but was perfect for our 2 night stay.

There are few items which need to be in place: kitchen garbage can (the compactor there does not work and we were told by the caretaker to please not use it under any circumstances!) so we had to hang a garbage bag, and then take it out a few times a day. A bin for recycling bottles, plastics etc. would be great, as we landed up throwing out things we knew could be recycled, simply because there was no where to keep them. The garbage can outside the unit was easily accessible, and we used it freely, but then when we went to leave we realized the previous guests had placed bottles in it, and so we had to go through 2 days of garbage and dog poo bags, to separate garbage from bottles! So clearer marking of a garbage bin and bottle bin would be helpful.

Remember also while there are 2 bathrooms there is only 1 shower, so since we were 6 people it meant taking turns but since it was a relaxed weekend trip no worries there.

The owner was very helpful with out booking and check-in process, and the caretaker was also very helpful when we needed anything, as she lives in the village and so could easily bring us anything we were missing.

Would definitely stay again.

Thanks to Margaret and Natasha!

Sauna was a nice touch

  • 5 of 5

We had a lot of room for everyone. 2 very large washrooms were a bonus. Comfortable beds and an owner that was willing to help at every step and answer all our questions. Tip! the running man on the stove was the start button, that took a few heads together to figure out.

we will book this stay again. It is ski in and out but not without effort and being able to know where it is.
