We have a hill where the children can sled right on the property. The Pittsfield State Forest for hiking in the summer. Enjoy shopping at the Lee Outlets. Tanglewood is also in close proximity for a summer concert on the green lush lawn. We have had the pleasure of hearing James Taylor several times.

Thank you for the positive review. Happy you enjoyed yourself at the cabin. In the future, I will provide sufficient fire starter. Hope to hear from you again.
This was our 2nd stay at the cottage. Highly recommend staying here. It is close to many things but peaceful and quite when you aren't in the mood for activities. Very cozy cottage with plenty of space and room for a group. Perfect for a get away. We will definitely be back!
I stayed for an entire summer at this cabin and had a phenomenal experience. The cabin is fully equipped in every hosting aspect and is quite simply a gorgeous home completely secluded from neighbors. Friends and family were able to come freely and settle into the quiet, calm, and beautiful landscape. Gladys was a meticulous host and checked in thoughtfully, but completely unobtrusively. This cabin is truly a hidden gem of the Berkshires/Eastern New York and I feel very lucky to have lived here for a long-term stay.
This was our second stay at the cabin and it was wonderful yet again. The owner was accommodating and abreast of everything that was going on with the cabin. The best part was when we arrived the owner left us a hand written note, with a bottle of wine to thank us for staying there a second time. Very touching and appreciative! If you want to have a great getaway I recommend this cabin, you truly will not be disappointed.
My wife and I stayed here with friends and their 1 year old. It was a great weekend! The bedrooms are cozy and comfortable, the kitchen is nicely laid out with good appliances, the living room is spacious and the dining area is large enough for 6+ adults. We arrived late Friday evening and enjoyed some time with our friends catching up. Saturday morning we woke and went out to breakfast and Blueberry Hill Market which is a MUST. We spent Saturday at the house cooking up a nice meal with a fire burning. The living room was a great play area for the one year old and he even got a little sledding in on the hill behind the house with his father. Sunday we grabbed bagels at Bucky Bagels and headed to Graylock state park for a hike. The "hike" was a bit short as it was icy and pretty chilly. I'd recommend doing some planning and research (we didnt) on trail route and consider cross country skis or snow shoes. We didn't have enough snow for either but i imagine it would be a beautiful and fun activity. After Graylock we headed to nearby Williamstown and had lunch at a pub and watched a bit of the Williams College basketball game. It's a very cute college town and if you are a golfer Taconic is a great course (top 10 public course in MA).
Sunday evening we relaxed with a fire, Monday we slept in an left around 10 for another great breakfast at Blueberry Hill.
All said it was a fun weekend, the house was very clean and comfortable, nice layout for a 2 couples and good location convenient to activities.
i would recommend this place to friends looking for a getaway (with or without children).
We chose this cabin because the thought of a girls getaway at a log cabin in the woods seemed like a wonderful and relaxing idea. This log cabin did NOT disappoint. The setting is gorgeous, the cabin is nestled in the woods in a peaceful setting and you do not see another neighbor. The Fall foliage was outstanding, the front porch has a great view of the woods & was a great place to sit and enjoy the outdoors....even in the rain!
The cabin is warm and inviting with comfortable furniture, a well stocked kitchen and large TV. The views from every window are spectacular. We have Verizon cellular and had no problem with reception so we could stay in touch with our families.
The cabin is located in a good area for antiquing, visiting apple orchards, hiking, and shopping in the neighboring towns both in NY and MA. We enjoyed our day trips but then really looked forward to returning to the cabin to relax, read a book, watch TV and cook our dinner.
Gladys, the owner is fantastic. She answered all of our questions prior to our arrival. There is a binder in the cottage filled with many suggestions of places to eat (Blueberry Hill Cafe was great), shop, hike, ski etc. Gladys is also available during your trip if you have any questions.
If you are looking for a trip to relax and recharge your batteries then this is the place. We are already planning our next trip to the log cabin in the woods.
We stayed here because it was close to family that live in the area. It was a true getaway as we live in a big city. The cabin has plenty of room, and it spacious for the three of us that were staying there. The board games and movies were a great way to spend relaxing evening. We could not be happier with our stay! There are many things to do near by. One of the things you should really check out is the Norman Rockwell museum in West Stockbridge, MA. It is only about a 25-30 minute drive and it was truly amazing. One thing that is out of the owners control, is that if you have AT&T for a cell phone provider, you do not have any reception at all, so plan accordingly. If you have Verizon, you will be just fine! I thank the owner for her hospitality and true concern for making everything smooth and easy! We will definitely stay here again.
