Please read the entire description (we've had guests not read this description and have incorrect expectations... we have the faults listed (no place is perfect)... but you have to read this the description to know what they are):
Hidden Creek Cabin is a 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom cabin that sits right on the creek. Each of the bedrooms has a queen size bed and the master bedroom has a door that opens up onto the screen porch out front. We allow 8 people to stay but there are beds for 6. There is also a screen porch out back that overlooks the creek. From the screen porch, you can access a stone patio which also overlooks the creek and has a small fire pit for campfires. There is a stone fireplace, NOT usable at this time, in the living room and a full kitchen (smaller size stove/oven though). Pets are welcome but do require a fee of $49.99 plus tax per pet.
This is a real cabin in the mountains built long ago. Therefore it will not feel like new construction (since it isn't new construction), but then again, that is what gives the cabin its charm because it is unique and older. The cabin is on the top of the mountain bordering the George Washington National Forest. The forest contains all sorts of wildlife and deer can even be seen at times walking through the yard. Because this is a real cabin, there are things you should expect to find in an older real cabin such as spider webs (we clean them for every guest but they do reappear quickly), ladybugs, critters, ants, insects, and stink bug during certain times of the year.
Quiet hours are from 9 pm to 9 am. Check in 4 pm until 10 pm. Checkout 11 am, or earlier. Early check-ins, before 4, or Late check-ins, after 10 pm, and late check-outs, after 11 am, require a $20 per hour fee. Please ask in advance about late check-ins.
No smoking in the cabin. No beer pong or Hookahs.
Guests are required to sign a rental agreement upon arrival and a photo ID. For this reason, the person who makes the reservation has to be the there at the time of check-in, unless the contract is signed and arrangements are made for someone else to check-in in advance.
All pet fee(s), early/late check-in or late check-out, firewood or extra person fees are not refundable once paid.
Failure to show up/check in or contact owner before midnight of day of arrival will result in cancellation. Host reserves the right to rebook property if guest does NOT contact owner.
We believe service is what sets us apart in the vacation rental industry. Katie & I personally own every cabin that we manage. We check-in all of our guests personally (sometimes even as late as 2 or 3 in the morning, with prior approval). When you arrive, the lights will be on and you will be welcomed and shown around the cabin, unlike most other rentals where you access a lock box and walk into a dark cold house. This is all we do 24/7 and we want all of our guests to have an amazing stay. We would be honored if you would allow us the opportunity to serve you.
We came to Virginia from Texas so I (Steven) could finish my college degree, but got into the vacation rental business by accident. :) We have three daughters under the age of 5. We have 6 rescue dogs, 4 rescue cats, 3 ponies, 10 goats & about 50 chickens.
Katie & Steven Robert Jones purchased this cabin in 2015
please repair the fireplace and hot tub- also property needs a new outdoor fire pit 3 of the 5 legs are broken. The creek is the best part of the location. The cabin is super cute and charming, however it is too close to the road and other cabins to be considered a get away.
Cabin is not fancy but functional. Beds are comfortable kitchen is adequate for simple cooking. Two great screened in porches on the front and back. Back overlooks a babbling creek..great sound to fall asleep to. Firepit area overlooking creek is so relaxing! Definitely a do again stay!
We had a great weekend at the cabin- the location is perfect and the creek is very relaxing. The cabin was well-appointed with comfortable furniture and a full kitchen. It was clean and well-taken care of and the old-house quirks didn't bother us at all. Someone else mentioned the lighting- it is very dim at night, so if you're a reader bring your book-light. The area has a lot to offer- multiple trails, views, wineries and peace and quiet! The history of Rawley Springs is very interesting and ruins of the old buildings are still around. Overall a great place to spend some time.
We stayed at this great cabin last month and had a wonderful experience. We chose it because it was right on the creek and the stone patio and screen porch did not disappoint. We enjoyed wonderful quiet time on the screen porch listening to nothing but the sound of the creek. Had a nice fire in the fire pit in the evenings too. Fast WiFi was an added bonus although we tried to disconnect from everything. There were some great trails very close by, High Knob Fire Tower being one of them. Great views from up there and the hike was the perfect distance. Not too short and not too long. The kitchen was really nice and the skylight was a really great touch. Thanks for letting us stay!
I love that back screen porch is right on the river. We just sat and listened to the river where it is nice and cool thanks to the nice breeze even on the hottest days. Great beds. Slept great. Everything was clean and just what we expected. The kitchen was very cute and was well stocked. The kitchen cabinets were very quaint. I wish had cabinets this nice in my own home. We would love to come back and stay when it is cold out and use the fireplace. Lots of spaces to hang out. There was a nice screen porch on the front of the cabin too where the kids especially loved to play. There was a nice little yard out front for the kids to play too. The road was very quiet. Next to no traffic. The master bedroom has a nice window bench for reading. The fire pit was on a stone patio overlooking the river and sound of the water rushing by was relaxing. And you cannot forget the claw-foot bathtub. What girl wouldn't love that? Really felt like a home away from home for us. Owners were responsive and helpful throughout our stay. We're coming back soon so don't book this cabin for the dates we're plan on coming back!
I loved the sound of the water at night running right off the deck. It was so peaceful. The bedrooms were large and spacious and the beds were super comfortable. The back porch and stone patio was perfect for spending time with family. We had dinner out there and it was really serene. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook. Absolutely LOVED the claw-foot tub! The skylight in the kitchen also added the perfect amount of lighting. Great place for the kids to play and loved the fact that it was pet-friendly. The cabin was very clean and smelled great. The linens were nice quality too. The stone fireplace was really beautiful too. The owners were very friendly and were extremely helpful too. We would definitely stay again and recommend this cabin to friends and family!!!
