About the property

3000 sqm fruit orchard

The new house is south facing and sits in its own fruit orchard and is on three levels. On the first level is a living room consisting of an open plan kitchen/ dining area with further seating area and a guest toilet with shower. The lower leverl contains two doble size bedrooms with a seperate bathroom. The upper level offers a large relax area with toilet. Outside there is a full lenght shady terrace leading to a swimming pool of some 10 x 4 meters surrounded by grass lawns. In addition a purpose built BBQ with its own seating area. Parking: A secure gated parking area for two cars.

Nerja: The Arabs called it 'Narixa' or 'Narija' (abundant fountain) and this location is settled on a magnificent natural spot on the spurs of the Almijara mountain range. Its tropical landscape marked out by plantations of sugar cane, offers on the other hand in its nearby mountains a great deal of small and big game. Its charming popular architecture with the white walls dotted with flowers, oozes Andalusia flavour and it is in harmony with the marvellous view we can admire from the 'Balcon de Europa' situated on a cliff. Nerja also boasts a lively nightlife bases upon typical restaurants, discos, music cafes, flamenco clubs, the well as shops with articles for all tastes. And we have to mention perhaps the most important : 'The Cave of Nerja' - National Monument, is a rocky formation of crystalline dolomites with more than 250.000 years of age, and one of the oldest deposits of the Solutrean culture in Southern Spain.

Eastern Costa del Sol = Axarquia: The region of Eastern Malaga (Axarquia) is the quiet part of the Costa del Sol. It is developed, but the villages have not been spoilt by mass tourism. You can meander through the bordering nature park Sierra Tejeda/ Almijara (2.068 m) where the mountains are tumbling into the sea. Discover the small beaches, the famous Caves of Nerja and the fabulous Alhambra in Granada. The Costa del Sol (sun-coast) has an average of 320 days of sun per year. The temperature in winter (Nov- Feb) hardly ever falls below 18ºC. So the weather is spring like It is warm enough to sunbath on the beach! The Sierra mountain range protects the area from the cold north winds. In the summer months, there is a light breeze that keeps the temperature pleasant. Here you will find an almost perfect climate.

Secluded property well maintained with excellent family pool!

This property was just perfect for our family. The property itself is down a rather rough and steep road, but easily driven. It’s perfectly located with a choice of supermarkets in easy reach, Lydl being the closest and less than a 5 minute drive. Our host, Frank, met us upon arrival and gave us a full introduction to the property and also guided us to the local supermarket to allow us to top-up with supplies. He even pointed out a few recommended purchases which was a lovely touch.

Frank was an excellent host and went out of his way to ensure we knew where the local attractions were, as well as providing expert advice on recommendations for the local river walk, and went as far as to provide a map of neighbouring Frigiliana along with a route to get the most out of an evening walk around the town.

The pool in the villa is better than we had hoped. Around 150cm at the shallow end to approx 2m at the deep end. We spent many an hour having fun in the pool with our boys and it was very relaxing to just sit back and spend a day or two at the villa.

Dishwasher and washing machine were a god send and the whole property was clean and well maintained. Frank supplied a change of laundry during our two week stay which was also a nice touch.

Overall we felt as if it was a home from home and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thanks again to Frank for his hospitality and advice as a local. It made settling in so much easier and gave us the opportunity to experience sights from the local area we’d not have otherwise gleamed from just guide books.

Gorgeous place

Four of us spent Christmas week at La Rana. It is a lovely spacious house with wonderful pool area and large BBQ terrace. Pool was cold as we knew it would be in Dec but we still jumped in daily. I would recommend this house to anyone and would love to rent it again myself when next in the area.

Sehr schönes Anwesen, sehr netter Vermieter, aber leider zu nah an der Autobahn

Im Haus mit Pool und schönem Garten haben wir uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Herr Viehweger hat uns sehr nett empfangen und persönlich die Umgebung gezeigt.

Leider stimmt die Angabe der Lage in der Beschreibung nicht mit der tatsächlichen Lage überein. Statt einem Abstand von ca. 1 km zur Autobahn waren es nur knapp 150 Meter Luftlinie, wodurch kontinuierlich Autos und LKWs zu hören waren. Dies haben wir als störend empfunden.

Parfait ! Muy bien !

Location idéale pour une famille, de l'espace, du calme, une piscine nickel, bref rien à dire si ce n'est que c'était parfait.

Situation également idéale à 5minutes de entre Nerja et Frigiliana. Grenade à moins d'une heure.

Merci également aux conseils précieux de Franck sur sa région et même au-delà.

Nous garderons un bon souvenir de notre passage.

Wonderful Place

We had a wonderful time during our stay at this country home. The house was very comfortable with all the amenities one needs for a great vacation with children. The pool and property were well maintained and we could enjoy many hours outside each day.

Frank was an exceptional host and gave helpful tips for exploring the surrounding region. He took care of all of our requests and was always there when you needed him. I can't imagine there are many better hosts than Frank.

We wish the best for Frank and his family, and are sure many people have had a similarly wonderful holiday at their country house!
