Bright, Clean 4+BR/3.5BA Mountain Home Is Perfect For Families And Large Groups

Please call or email me - Jessica - and I can fill you in on this great house and our full range of guest services and amenities. Cooper Landing Vacation Rentals will take care of you on your vacation of a lifetime!

No other rental home in the area can offer you the same level of privacy and flexibility for traveling families and groups as this house can, while still providing clean, fresh, bright accommodations.

This newer home welcomes you into the living and dining area with floor to ceiling windows and an expansive mountain view. The large deck overlooks the large, forest-bordered lawn, while the creek gurgles and bubbles nearby. Enjoy your daily salmon catch on the outdoor barbeque grill, and gather for the evening around the huge outdoor fire pit.

Your daytime hours will be comfortable and warm inside, with leather furniture, stainless steel appliances in the main kitchen, beautiful tongue and groove wood throughout, a full laundry, and pleasant amenities to make you feel at home: games, toys for the kids, nice linens and towels. As a special bonus, this home features a light and bright walk-out basement level which is set up as a complete 1 BR/1 BA apartment, with a separate kitchen, living room, and dining room. Your group can stay in this space happily together and still enjoy privacy and seclusion when needed.

At night, settle into the five beautifully appointed bedrooms. Upstairs there is a bedroom with a queen bed, a second bedroom with twin bunk beds (a twin mattress or a quality queen-sized air mattress available for the floor in either of these bedrooms with prior arrangement), and a third room just for the little ones, featuring a wall of toy shelves (a child's paradise!) a single bed (custom-sized, slightly smaller than a twin), and a toddler bed. This upstairs level has a full bathroom with a bathtub.

The main level of the home, in addition to the laundry, kitchen, dining, and living rooms, has a convenient half-bath, an enclosed porch, and the master suite. The master bedroom features a queen-sized bed, and the ensuite bathroom has a shower.

The lower level of the house is a walk-out basement apartment, with large front-facing windows, its own living room, dining room, and kitchen. On this level there is a bathroom with shower and a bedroom with a queen-sized bed and an extra-long single bed.

About Jessica Larsen

From the Owner: We used to come to the Kenai Peninsula from our home north of Anchorage and rent other vacation homes, but we loved our experiences down here so much that we finally decided to buy our own vacation chalet. After many years of having just our family and friends stay, we've decided to open it up to you and your family so that you can love and know Cooper Landing and the Kenai Peninsula as much as we do. It's our place to escape from the hustle and bustle of our careers and life in the city. We love fishing, hiking, and wildlife viewing. We are Alaskans through and through.

From the manager: My name is Jessica. My family (my husband Courtney, and our three small children) has lived in Cooper Landing for five years, but have recreated here for decades. We manage only a few homes so we can give them each a personal touch and the attention they and their guests deserve. We would love to host you!

Why Jessica Larsen chose Kenai Peninsula

From the owner: This home was built by an owner-builder who took care to make it warm, lovely, high-quality and welcoming. When he decided to sell, we were happy to call it our own. The large windows, gorgeous mountains, expansive lawn, encircling forest, nearby creek, and flexible floor plan have been a dream come true. We have wonderful family memories here, in the peace and quiet, in a beautiful town the local chamber calls 'The Gem of the Kenai Peninsula - an Emerald in the Summer, a Diamond in the Winter'. Cooper Landing is truly one of the most beautiful locations in Alaska, with the stunning turquoise Kenai River running through, the National Forest nestling up to the majestic mountains. You should learn to call this place 'home', too!

From the manager: Offering this home to you is very exciting because it feels such a needed niche in the Cooper Landing vacation rental market - it is so spacious and flexible in its sleeping and living arrangements, easily accommodating families and large groups. It's a high-quality home with a warm feel, perfect for a relaxing vacation.

What makes this chalet unique

We were immediately impressed with the large fire pit in the spacious yard - it has been the site of incredible gatherings of family and friends. The whole house feels open and warm, convenient but out of the way. We keep binoculars in the living room for spotting wildlife on the surrounding mountains. We enjoy lazy evenings on the deck listening to the creek go by. We can have guests and have as much privacy or togetherness as we need in the 3000 square feet of space, with plenty of place to sleep, bathe, gather, and even cook and eat.

Was a beautiful house and loved all the angles to it. We were able to walk outside to get to bottom level with person who couldn't manage stairs so perfect for all needs.

Great house for a large group.

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay at the Woodlands very much! Cooper Landing is a central location on the Kenai, and has lots of nearby hiking, rafting, and fishing. The house has a large floorplan, with plenty of room for our two families of four. There were lots of toys that the kids enjoyed, and plenty of games in the closet. There is a downstairs kitchen in addition to the main kitchen, but we didn't really use it. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything to cook and bake, and even had really good knives (a rarity in a rental house!). We bought groceries in Anchorage and cooked most evenings, as there are limited dining options in the area, and almost no groceries. The dining area was a bit small for all of us to sit down together, but there is a second dining area downstairs. There are room darkening shades that made it easy to sleep in the bright Alaska summer, and the beds were very comfortable. There were plenty of fluffy towels, as well as shampoo, conditioner and soap in all of the bathrooms. There is a large, well-maintained lawn to play in. We didn't end up using the firepit, but we did use the chargoal grill, with the provided briquets. The wifi worked the entire time, and despite it being a little slow the kids were able to watch some netflix. The only (minor) complaints were a noisy dryer, and a lack of a door on the tiny child's bedroom. Jessica and Courtney were great, helping us find hiking spots and booking a fishing trip for us.
