Great location!

  • 4 of 5

We used the condo in Frisco as a base and did a lot of day trips. The central location was great and nothing was more than an hour drive. And even then the views were fantastic.

My only knocks would be a lack of washer/dryer which I have had in every other rental we have used and the lack of an elevator. Not a huge deal except when arriving and leaving. But I could imagine it being a bigger deal in the winter with all the ski gear.

Good

  • 4 of 5

The overall stay was nice. The rooms were spacious and a well taken care of rental. The only drawback was no central AC. It was hot in the condo. The thermostat read 78 at 7pm so it made for a very uncomfortable night. I wouldn't stay in the middle of summer again.

Pleasant stay at MountainSide...

  • 4 of 5

My wife and I along with our daughter and her family recently stayed at 'Rocky Top' Unit 343B at MountainSide Condominiums. The kitchen had been recently remodeled and did feature all new appliances. The smaller kitchen necessitated the microwave being positioned above the range, which made it somewhat of a challenge to reach and remove articles. However, all the appliances worked flawlessly. The mattresses in the two lower rooms (king and queen) were very nice as was the number of pillows provided (we did bring our own). Living room was nice, as were the bathrooms. The two twin beds located in the loft were nice as well. The apparent lack of A/C in the late afternoon/early evening, however, did occur during a very warm period. ALL in ALL...4 STARS!

Negative/Positive

  • 2 of 5

Negative part was that property could use a good cleaning! Walls had food particles on them, wood work is dirty. Suggest moving furniture out and vacuuming under them. No elevator, struggle getting suitcases to the condo on the 3rd floor. Positive part was that my family could all stay together, pretty view with moose sighting out the patio. I would give it a 4 star if they go in and do some major cleaning, but until then it is going to get a 21/2 star.

Owner's Response: Thank you for the review and I apologize for the dust and spots. I did rush over immediately after reading the review to check on it. I found a couple spots and cleaned them. I am assuming you are new to using vrbo and homeaway. This is a business that provides for our families and our well-being. In the future please contact us or whomever you are staying with upon finding any discrepancies. I know a majority of people that have opened up their homes to guest would rectify any situation immediately upon being notified. My office is 3 blocks from the condo and we have someone to answer calls at any time of day. We also have an online reporting system. So in this situation I guarantee you would have been taken care of immediately.

Very easy and convenient

  • 4 of 5

Great location and easy to work with. Was not as remote as initially thought by reading the description but still an amazing place to stay. Would definitely come back and suggest to friends.

Nice place but has its minuses.

  • 4 of 5

The 7 of us, 2 adults and 5 kids, stayed in this apartment for 4 nights. The apartment is clean and has 7-8 sleeping spots, which includes 2 couches. However the living area is quite small. The table only has chairs for 4, the rest of the people sat the the kitchen bar. Definitely not enough light in the dining/living area.

The fireplace is real wood and wood is not provided nor did I see any matches.

There were towels just enough for our party but no extra towels were provided for the pool and hot tub area in the club house (there are no towels there either).

There are washing machines in the club house, but come with pocket full of quarters as the machines only take quarters and there is no change machine.

The apartment is on the third floor, which is actually 4 sets of stairs from the garage under the house (nice to have a covered garage with an assigned spot), with no elevator. It is not an easy climb with little kids, tons of ski equipment and grocery shopping.

Owner's Response: Leah, First we want to say thank you for your response!! Feedback is helpful in areas that possibly can be improved. With regard to the dining area needing more light we have added a decorative 4 light strip above the bar area that is on a dimmer switch. Firewood is typically not provided but readily available at the convenience store on Main or at Safeway. We keep a long handle lighter for the fireplace in with the longer kitchen utensils. The condo comes with 12 towels and towel service is available for an extra fee. If you stop and unload prior to pulling in the covered garage you can avoid one flight of stairs. We have found that the easiest thing to do when skiing is to simply leave poles, ski's, boards and helmets in the car and only carry up our boots and coats. While the extra set of steps may not be ideal for everyone, we decided when purchasing the property that it was well worth the trade-off for the enhanced back porch view, freedom from noise from above and most importantly, the added size and lighting from the vaulted ceiling, loft and skylight - all of which were simply not available on lower floors. Again I would like to thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback. It really helps us in our mission to provide a clean, comfortable "home away from home" for our renters."
