This comfortable, cozy log cabin has been in our family for 45 years. It offers a quaint, rustic, knotty pine interior. Its unique decor features original log furniture and beautiful handcrafted items including needlework & glass ceiling lamp. The living room features a new braided rug from LLBean (2014).
We have an old-fashioned Ben Franklin style gas fireplace that will warm you on cozy mornings & evenings. There are ceiling fans in each room. The exterior is freshly stained in deep maple with green accent trim & green metal roof. Our property is cozy, immaculate, and extremely well maintained.
This cabin offers a fully equipped kitchen with toaster, high-end coffee maker, coffee bean grinder, electric can opener, smoothie maker, programmable slow cooker, all flatware, dishes, pots/pans and newer microwave (2013). We also provide limited seasonings and cooking oil for our guests as well as kitchen towels and hot pads.There is no dishwasher or garbage disposal.
We have a flat screen Sony TV & DVD player and a small library of DVD's - feel free to bring your own! We also have a Bose Wave radio/CD player. We get a few over the air TV channels there is no cable or Internet. We have a small library of board games and playing cards. There is no landline.
We have 2 small bedrooms, each with a full-size log bed. Both beds have newer pillow top mattress sets. We provide quilts, blankets and 4 pillows - 2 for each bed. Please bring your own towels and linens (2 sets -full-size sheets).
Our small bathroom has a shower – no tub. It has a newer ceramic floor (2012). A medicine cabinet over the sink is reserved for our guests. (A second medicine cabinet on the wall contains our personal items.) We provide septic safe toilet tissue and ask that nothing but septic safe toilet tissue be flushed, to avoid plumbing problems.
My family has owned this cabin for 45 years and I have enjoyed vacationing on Duck Lake my whole life. My favorite activities are bike riding, kayaking, and photography. I love visiting the nearby wineries and lighthouses as well as the many fine restaurants.

We offer a quaint. old-fashioned cabin that is ideal for couples, small families and solo travelers. Our cabin is ideally located on Duck Lake Peninsula - a lovely, peaceful area that offers a respite from the crowds of Traverse City during the busy summer season. We are just 25 minutes from the historic district of downtown Traverse City with many summer festivals and theatres. We are just 15 minutes from the Interlochen Center for the Arts and Interlochen State Park. We are close to wineries, lighthouses, The Sleeping Bear Dunes, Lake Michigan, and a wide range of fine restaurants.
Enjoy walking and biking on beautiful Duck Lake Peninsula. You will be able to prepare home cooked meals in our fully equipped kitchen. Our kitchen offers a programmable crock pot, upscale coffee brewer, smoothie maker, toaster and coffee bean grinder, panini maker as well as basic seasonings. We have a bright, open living room-dining room combination and a cozy screened in porch to enjoy meals or play cards or board games.

Duck Lake Peninsula is an ideal area for nature photography, walking, and biking as well as a great base from which to visit the area attractions. We are a 15-minute drive to both Interlochen State Park and the Interlochen Center for the Arts which is known worldwide for music, art and theater. We are located a five-minute walk from shared lake access. Interlochen State Park, with beach and boat launch, is also on Duck Lake, 15 minutes away by car. Michigan State Park Pass required.
The use of a solo Old Town kayak with paddle and trolley is included for the use of registered guests. If you use the kayak you are required to use a personal flotation device and sign a waiver. Please inquire about the kayak when you book the cabin.
We are located 25 minutes from historic, downtown Traverse City, which offers many fine restaurants, shops, the fully restored State Theatre, West Bay Beaches, and the TART trail.
Travel 30 minutes West and you will find the Betsie River Trailhead in Beulah – park at Beulah Beach on beautiful Crystal Lake – your first 5 miles of biking or walking will be alongside the lake! We are less than 1 hour from the Sleeping Bear Dunes - voted by the viewers of Good Morning America as the most beautiful place in America in 2011. The Dunes is famous for the Dune Climb as well as the exquisite Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive. The Sleeping Bear Heritage Trail opened in 2012 - a 9.5 biking/walking trail in the Dunes Park. We are within a 1-hour drive of numerous wineries, lighthouses and other attractions. More tourism literature is onsite.
