The guest house is just steps away to over 30 miles of bike and walking trails stretching along the American River from Folsom to Sacramento and looping around Lake Natoma. You can rent bikes or kayaks within walking distance and explore the quiet waters or hike the oak-lined trails around the lake. Watch for the bald eagles and other wild life along its shoreline. Riding is very popular in Folsom and riders of all abilities and levels have plenty to enjoy. The river trail system starts at Folsom Lake and continues to Sacramento along gentle and scenic riverside trails. More challenging trails include the foothills and wine country, as well as the nearby Sierra Nevada Mountains for more extreme riders and jumpers. Folsom Lake offers sailing and boating, with boat ramps, camp grounds and picnic areas.
To explore outside of Folsom, light rail trains make frequent departures from Historic Folsom Station, just four blocks away. Sacramento is 22 miles and a relaxing 45 minutes away by train. Or spend a day exploring our local wine region just 45 minutes away in the spectacular unspoiled countryside of the Shenandoah Valley of Amador County.
We built our home in the Folsom Historic District in 2011. The Guest House apartment was designed for a daughter to occupy during college years and is now available for guests visiting the area.
Stephanie Caruso purchased this apartment in 2008
The property was newly built in 2011 so we could enjoy river and trail access and the many activities in the Folsom Historic District. We enjoy riding the trails around both Folsom Lake and Lake Natoma, as well as spending time kayaking nearby. With the Folsom Pro-Rodeo in July, the rock festival 'Folsom Live' in September and events throughout year, this central location is fun. Although we are in town, we enjoy easy proximity to the river and many restaurants.
We are in the historic area, walking distance from everything, including the light rail train station that connects Folsom to the larger Sacramento metro area. We enjoy living by the river, in a quiet area of Folsom; close to both great outdoor recreation and an entertainment district for convenient restaurants and pubs.
I can't stress enough how tranquil Stephanie's place is. Yet, such a short proximity to Old Downtown (4 minute walk), the hiking trail, museum, the Zoo and so many other things. We got to walk the neighborhood, visit with some friends nearby and just enjoy the amenities her place had to offer.
We are blessed to have stayed at her place.
The house was very clean and well set up. It is situated close to the American River bike path so we could ride our bikes easily along the river without fighting cars. I also rode up to lake Folsom (4 miles) to the mountain bike trails which are a blast to ride.
We were able to sit on the front porch and have dinner in the warm evening's. This was our second time staying and we will be back.
We had a lovely stay here for the Fourth of July weekend. The house was exactly what we needed: just enough space with very clean and comfortable accommodations. The location was excellent and Stephanie was a lovely host. I would highly recommend staying here.
The home was just perfect for my small family. It was tastefully decorated and so comfortable. There were lots of little touches that just made it great, like the menus from local restaurants and the fresh flowers our hostess brought us when we arrived. It's also in a great location.
We stayed in this lovely apartment for a week while visiting our grandkids in folsom. We enjoyed this immaculate and quiet guest house so much! Every little thing we needed was available plus it is walking distance to the restaurants and trails! It was perfect in every way! This will be our go to place every time we visit!!!!
My husband and I stayed at Stephanie's apartment for 3 days on a short stay in Folsom to visit family. The apartment is located in historic Folsom and very convient to all that Folsom has to offer. The apartment is just as advertised and more. Stephanie has taken great pains to make it feel like a home away from home. Everything that one would need is provided and attention has been paid to details right down to coffee and detergent for the washer. Everything is new, very clean, and well appointed. We will certainly return when in the area and would urge all to take advantage of this wonderful guest home.

Spend a weekend in your own flat in Folsom’s charming historic district. Our peaceful one-bedroom flat is the perfect combination of modern convenience and historic setting. Walk to your choice of restaurants, two bakeries, coffee shops and micro-brew pubs. Our local farmers market runs year round on Saturday mornings, offering a tremendous assortment of fresh organic produce, baked goods, cheese, and beautiful flowers.
