About the property

Contemporary 1Br/1Ba Flat With Living Room And Full Kitchen; Sleeps 4.

The guest house offers privacy and peaceful surroundings with ample well-lit parking.

The flat is located upstairs with parking located below. Full-size washer/dryer; Wi-Fi and Dish TV premium channels: HBO, Showtime, ESPN and more. The cheery sun-filled kitchen includes modern electric range, refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, Kuerig coffee machine, toaster, basic utensils and serving ware. Coffee and a variety of teas provided. The bedroom has a queen size bed, and the living room sleeper sofa is also a queen to comfortably accommodate four adults.

Located within walking distance of the restaurants on Sutter Street, the non-smoking property is surrounded by mature trees which provide privacy, shade and peaceful views of the historic district including the river parkway.

For wine tourists, ask about the private vineyard tours available in Somerset (weather and schedule permitting). During the summer our guests enjoy local fruit: oranges and figs from our trees, and grapes and berries from our vines. There is also a local farmer’s market on Saturdays only several blocks away.

The guest house is just steps away to over 30 miles of bike and walking trails stretching along the American River from Folsom to Sacramento and looping around Lake Natoma. You can rent bikes or kayaks within walking distance and explore the quiet waters or hike the oak-lined trails around the lake. Watch for the bald eagles and other wild life along its shoreline. Riding is very popular in Folsom and riders of all abilities and levels have plenty to enjoy. The river trail system starts at Folsom Lake and continues to Sacramento along gentle and scenic riverside trails. More challenging trails include the foothills and wine country, as well as the nearby Sierra Nevada Mountains for more extreme riders and jumpers. Folsom Lake offers sailing and boating, with boat ramps, camp grounds and picnic areas.

To explore outside of Folsom, light rail trains make frequent departures from Historic Folsom Station, just four blocks away. Sacramento is 22 miles and a relaxing 45 minutes away by train. Or spend a day exploring our local wine region just 45 minutes away in the spectacular unspoiled countryside of the Shenandoah Valley of Amador County.

About Stephanie Caruso

We built our home in the Folsom Historic District in 2011. The Guest House apartment was designed for a daughter to occupy during college years and is now available for guests visiting the area.

Stephanie Caruso purchased this apartment in 2008

Why Stephanie Caruso chose Central Valley California

The property was newly built in 2011 so we could enjoy river and trail access and the many activities in the Folsom Historic District. We enjoy riding the trails around both Folsom Lake and Lake Natoma, as well as spending time kayaking nearby. With the Folsom Pro-Rodeo in July, the rock festival 'Folsom Live' in September and events throughout year, this central location is fun. Although we are in town, we enjoy easy proximity to the river and many restaurants.

What makes this apartment unique

We are in the historic area, walking distance from everything, including the light rail train station that connects Folsom to the larger Sacramento metro area. We enjoy living by the river, in a quiet area of Folsom; close to both great outdoor recreation and an entertainment district for convenient restaurants and pubs.

A Christmas Holiday

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this lovely cottage over Christmas to be close to our daughter and her family who live in Folsom. The cottage was extremely clean, comfortable, and nicely decorated. Its location was perfect, close to downtown, and rented at a very reasonable price. Stephanie, the friendly owner, made every effort to ensure our comfort, and she was very flexible. Because we were on the go so much, we didn't get to spend as much time at the cottage and exploring the old town of Folsom as we would have liked. I guess we will just have to come back in 2017.

Stephanie's place is beautifully decorated, clean, peaceful and furnished with all of our needs. It is conveniently located. Stephanie was easy to work with and even gave us multi-colored roses and delicious wine. We loved riding bikes, both on the American River trail and by Blue Ravine. WE had breakfast and dinner in Old town. Overall, a wonderful stay! Thank you Stephanie!

Sweet spot to stay in Folsom

  • 5 of 5

The Guest house was exactly as advertized- beautiful, clean, new, and filled with everything we could have needed or wanted. Located near so many amazing sites and walking distance to Old town Folsom. The bike/walking trail along the American River is a beautiful site to experience. So many great little specialty stores and Resturants, all within walking distance to this charming little gem. Stepanie the owner is so attentive and friendly you will think you have known her for years!! I plan on coming back again soon.

Thanks for a great stay!

Great space in a great location!

  • 5 of 5

The apartment was clean and nicely decorated. The kitchen had all the basic allowing us to eat several meals there verses out. I was even able to bake my boys brownies :)

We choose the location due to it's proximity to our son's apartment but the area was wonderful for vacationing.

Downtown Folsom was three blocks away. I enjoyed the little shops, we all enjoyed the restaurants, and our boys (22 and 25) enjoyed the bars once dad and I went to bed on Saturday night :)

Additionally the apartment is only a block from the river which made a great place to walk our son's dog (no animals allowed in the apartment...be respectful).

The next time we are visiting our sons we will look to stay here first!

Just what the doctor ordered!!!

  • 5 of 5

I can't stress enough how tranquil Stephanie's place is. Yet, such a short proximity to Old Downtown (4 minute walk), the hiking trail, museum, the Zoo and so many other things. We got to walk the neighborhood, visit with some friends nearby and just enjoy the amenities her place had to offer.

We are blessed to have stayed at her place.

The Folsom guest house is an excellent place to relax

  • 5 of 5

The house was very clean and well set up. It is situated close to the American River bike path so we could ride our bikes easily along the river without fighting cars. I also rode up to lake Folsom (4 miles) to the mountain bike trails which are a blast to ride.

We were able to sit on the front porch and have dinner in the warm evening's. This was our second time staying and we will be back.
