This rustic but modern Cabin has all the amenities of home, plus a 7 person hot tub located under our 1200 sq ft covered porch over looking a beautiful valley that flows right into Pinnon Lake. Inside there are two bedrooms with queen beds in both and a sleeper sofa, two bathrooms, and a full kitchen. The living room includes a fireplace and 40 inch flat screen with satellite.
Born and raised right here in Southern Il, I have one other Rental Cabin, and work as a operating engineer, also we have a small herd of cows that we enjoy taking care of. My wife is a full time mother and a beautician, also she takes care of making our cabins look brand new after each visitor. Together we have two wonderful children, one 6 one is 9.
Charlie & Brystal Pinnon purchased this cabin in 2013
This property has been in our family for close to 40 years. My father bought the land from my mothers uncle in the mid 70s and has farmed it and ran cattle on it every since. Now Dad is retired, and only has a few cows to keep him company, he also owns and operates Pinnon Lake Cabins that are located on the other end of the place.

Beautiful country views and peaceful. Loved the wrap around porch and hot tub. The only con was the bed was not comfortable.
Very nice clean cottage. Enjoyed the huge wrap around porch, listening to the wild life. The hot tub is very nice and roomy. There were three of us and room for at least three more. The down side is no where to hang your clothes, no closet or hooks! And still no toaster!! ( was not there two years ago either). The closest town to go the grocery store is Anna, which wasn't a bad drive . The master bedroom is large, wish they would have a king bed in there, plenty of room! If you are a wine drinker, bring your own wine glasses. There may have been two there.
We have stayed at numerous cabins in this area. This was the worst we were ever at. The satellite dish was not working (it rained a lot) and I called on Friday morning to the owner(we arrived Thurs. afternoon). He said he wasn't close but he would come by later. He said the people who mow the lawn sometimes hit the dish. He never showed up & never called back. We had no tv, no wi- fi for the entire stay(we left Sunday morning). There was no where else to go because of parents weekend at SIU. We paid a lot of $ for this cabin. There were also no closets, the shower in one of the bathrooms was clogged and the other shower is so small you can't do anything but stand. We will be looking for other cabins in the future. Our daughter just started school so we will be staying in this area off & on for the next 4 years.
Our stay at Calies cabin was very serene. The cabin is very nice and the hot tub is a plus. I haven't seen so many stars shining in the sky since I was a child on my grandparents farm. The cabin offers everything you need. The only 2 drawbacks were there are not any closets to hang clothes and the 2 couches need to be replaced. Thank you for a very relaxing and stress free stay and I would recommend staying there. Julitta Newberry
Loved the wrapped around porch. Very tranquil and relaxing. Ours neighbors were some cows that loved to graze by the cabin.. The only cons for us: the water smelled funny. The location and code to cabin was never provided. I had to call owner but, he answered right away. We had our daughter and usually there is classic board games..I could not find any. Overall I had a great time, I would definitely book again.
Cedar Sunset Cabins are located at head of Shawnee Hills Wine Trail, and just around the corner from Shawnee Tours Zip Line.
