Overview

Photos and Description of this 2 bedroom holiday home in Arizona

2 Bedrooms, 2 Bathrooms, Sleeps 5

New VRBO Listing, free standing home with all brand new furnishings! Enjoy this special community from our beautiful home in Barrio De Tubac, a small community within walking distance of the artist village in Tubac, and less than a mile from the Tubac Golf Resort. As frequent VRBO guests ourselves, we know what we enjoy when staying in other’s homes, a designer home, geared towards comfort, and well-stocked supplies. We have picked out every item, from soft sheets, to bathrobes, to Blu-Ray DVD players and HD TVs with your comfort and enjoyment in mind. You will love our 2 bedroom, 2 bath home with its’ 10 foot ceilings, gas kiva fireplace, surround sound, jetted tub, walk in shower, well stocked kitchen with granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, private court yard, and back patio with comfortable seating and beautiful sunset views. Of course high speed wireless Internet is also provided, as well as two bikes, helmets and lock.

You will love to walk, run or bike on the Historic De Anza trail, only blocks from the house, then enjoy a nice glass of wine on the patio watching an amazing Arizona sunset! You will also really enjoy visiting the historic Tumacacori mission that dates back to the late 1600’s, or just relax at the pool and hot tub which is a short walk/bike from the house. You should also spend some time browsing the many unique art galleries that line the quiet streets of the Tubac Village. Our home is perfect for a romantic getaway, where you can spend your entire trip without ever leaving Tubac. The local market is just a short walk/bike from the house and has everything you need for a gourmet meal, including specialty cheeses and a very nice wine selection. If you love golf, as we do, you can spend your days playing golf at the famous Tubac Golf Resort or at a host of other golf courses in the area (Rio Rico or Green Valley). The Golf Resort also has a Spa and a great restaurant called the Stables. Our favorite spot for dinner is the exquisite Elvira’s Restaurant – within walking distance from our home. You will be blown away by the food and ambiance at this restaurant.

Finally, if you really enjoy hiking, biking or running, there are plenty of trails within close proximity, such as Madera Canyon, Elephant Head, and in Rio Rico. Tubac is also quite famous for birding, a very popular activity on the De Anza Trail, but you don't even have to go that far as many species visit our back yard. There are even numerous vineyards, which host a wine festival in early August each year within a reasonable driving distance. Once you visit Tubac you will always want to come back for more.

Why Carol Benight chose Arizona

We have stayed in Tubac for many years, and have fallen in love with the area, as you will too. We bought this home because we like the Barrio de Tubac area, and this home had a lot of privacy, which is important to us.

What makes this house unique

We love sitting outside watching the desert sunsets, a spectacular sight!

Very Comfortable and Well Equipt

  • 5 of 5

I have stayed in several rentals in Tubac and this one is the most comfortable due to its many useful items around the house. This rental seemed to have all the right kitchen utensils, supplies, sheets, pillows, etc. that made our short stay very enjoyable. I would absolutely stay here again. Also access to the pool was a great extra feature. Parking was a bit tight due to the road and driveway/garage entrance but we managed with two vehicles just fine. Thank you for the great stay.

Great little place to stay in Tubac!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here between two larger luxurious high end vrbos and found our stay to be very comfortable and relaxing. Carol was very communicative and worked with us on checking in and out a bit earlier and later when it turned out her home was not otherwise occupied. Having lived in New Mexico for two years, we appreciated the "Santa Fe style" of the home with the kiva fireplace (also called a beehive in Arizona), entry courtyard, and wood around the openings in the kitchen to the family room. Carol is not kidding when she says her home is well stocked- she really has thought of everything from kitchen and baking supplies to paper goods, and office supplies. Though we didn't get a chance to use them, the outdoor barbeque and furniture would be enjoyed in warmer months. We have stayed in much more luxurious homes with a lack of baking pans (rich people don't bake?) and no toilet paper to be found. It made it so much easier for us not to have to run out to the store constantly.

While the home is small, more like a cottage, it is well laid out with each bedroom having its own bath, and an open study in between allowing privacy for a family or two couples traveling together. Each bedroom is nicely and comfortably decorated- loved the suede feel of the bed covers. There were plenty of pillows, towels, and extra blankets, and the master walk-in closet allowed us to move in several suitcases.

The home is convenient to the charming town of Tubac, a good walk or short bike ride with bikes provided. We enjoyed walking around the neighborhood including to a small park, seeing the Christmas lights in town, shopping at the market with wonderful fresh deli selections and walking through a number of art galleries. The weather was a bit cold and dreary for Arizona while we were here so we appreciated the warming gas fireplace as well as the relaxing reclining sofas in the living room. We also enjoyed watching bowl games on the t.v. and you-tube on the bedroom one. The internet worked well.

It was too cold to use the pool or other facilities, but that would definitely be a bonus in the warmer months and the townhomes near the pool are architecturally charming with all of their bright colors. We also like the Barrio de Tubac entry to the neighborhood.

If you're looking for a darling cottage near the town of Tubac, as well as Rio Rico where there's an IGA and New York diner, and the Nogales, Mexico border, check out this comfortable home.

A "special anniversary" for us !!!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay in Tubac, AZ.

Carol and Chip (the owners) were great making sure our stay was going to be a good one! Very good customer service helping book their home. It was a "special anniversary" for us on Dec 5th! The house was perfect! Much better than the photos. The house was clean, neat and well organized! The mountain views are beautiful. Never missed the sunsets while having a glass of red wine sitting on the patio...

We had so much fun biking, walking, dancing and going to the pool. The Tubac shops and restaurants are very close. So we walked and biked a lot and drove only once. We even walked to St Ann's on Sunday morning. There were many holiday events going on that we enjoyed... eating out, the holiday lighting of Tubac, and the crafters and music at the mission (only 2 miles away). We met so many nice folks on our stay as they new me by my camera. It was our 1st time to the area and truly loved it!!! We will be back!

Even our puppy kids love laying on the patio in the sun and going on walks.... Tubac is very dog friendly!

Thanks again Carol and Chip...

Great place

  • 5 of 5

This was one of the nicer VRBO places that we have stayed at. Lovely neighborhood, great location, nicely maintained property. Really appreciated kitchen amenities. (Hate it when I have to go buy salt and pepper!)

Great place for bird watching/hiking/running/biking on De Anza Trail, blocks from our home, or challenge yourself to climb to the top of Mt Wrightson, a short drive away, or visit the many art galleries in the Tubac village, or play golf on one of the numerous courses nearby.
