This is a beautiful Lodge in a great location! This is a unique home is only minutes from the entrance to Yellowstone Park. It is really well set up for larger families, and has the charm and character for a great 'Montana' experience.

The Lodge is well equipped, with 4 bedrooms and bonus rooms along with an apartment that has its own kitchen, bathroom with tub, and bedroom plus sofa-sleeper couch. The home has two levels and lots of space. The first floor has the kitchen, living and dining rooms, master bedroom, wash room, and access to the attached garage and apartment. The second floor has an open floor plan with 3 bedrooms and a family room with foosball table, couches including 2 sofa-sleeper couches, and superb views! This lodge has all of the comforts of home, including a spacious living room, a pool room, a full kitchen and full-sized washer/dryer, large screen TV's, wireless internet, a deck with barbecue grill, and a large yard that has children’s playground equipment.

The apartment is connected to the main house and is included with the rental. The apartment has a bedroom with a queen bed, a queen sofa-sleeper couch, a full kitchen with a full size fridge, and a large screen TV, and a full bathroom with tub/shower combo.

The neighborhood offers easy access to Hebgen Lake and the mountains of Gallatin National Forest. The home is only 7.5 miles on a paved highway from the town of West Yellowstone, including a short 1/4 mile drive down a graded, maintained dirt road. It sits in a secluded area at the base of the mountains forming the Continental Divide, just down the road from the most centrally located entrance to Yellowstone National Park.

It is a small, quiet subdivision that is surrounded by Forest Service land. The Madison Arm of Hebgen lake, with a boat ramp, beaches, and swimming, is less than 4 miles away. All of the Park's animals also live and travel through the area, so it is not uncommon (depending on time of year) to see elk, moose, bear, fox, wolves, eagles and many other animals nearby. Groomed Forest Service snowmobile trails are accessible from the boundary of the subdivision, and snowmobiles can be ridden from the home in the winter. Cross country and back country skiing opportunities are also available right outside the door.

However, internet and cellular services are limited here, no matter who the provider or where the location, in town or out. We have frequent outages, poor/slow performance, and many areas where cellular does not work, or works poorly, depending on your provider. Don't plan on doing business via internet or telephone while you're here! It cannot be counted on, no matter who tells you otherwise. We do not provide refunds or discounts for internet or cellular connectivity problems that are beyond our control, but we will do everything we can to help you maximize your uptime!

Super family vacation spot

The lodge lacked some exterior charm of the log cabins we like so much but had many other appealing features. It was perfect for part of our family with a food allergy since they could have the separate apartment above the garage and still be together with the other family members. It was plenty spacious for all 16 of us (pictures make it look smaller than reality) and the 8 kids had lots of options. It was convenient to the Yellowstone entrance as well as Henry's Lake.

A couple showers are fairly small and not an easy fix for the owners but something other renters should be aware of. For the couple other issues needing attention when we arrived, the manager was super responsive. Overall a great experience for our first vacation home rental.

Beautiful Area

The home was in a beautiful area only 10 minutes from West Yellowstone.

This home was the perfect size for our family of 10.

We would have liked a larger family area to watch some home videos we brought with us. We could not all sit together.

The home has mice, earwigs and mold. If renting you should not leave out any open containers.

Owner's Response: Thanks for the review. The home is professionally cleaned after each turnover, and these things have not been a problem in the past. If the outside doors are left open during good weather, and the screens not shut, because of the rural location of the house bugs and mice can make their way inside. We are having a professional exterminator visit the property to make sure that whatever intruders are there will not remain. Please help us out in the future by taking the time to close the doors as you come and go from the house. Please let us know if you find any intruders during your stay and we'll do what we can while you're here too. So sorry that the family area seemed small for your group; most have commented on how big it is and how it seems bigger in person than in the pictures. Thanks for reading this response, and if you reserve, please don't hesitate to let us know if there's anything we can do to make things more comfortable for you while you're here!

Family Vacation near Yellowstone

We rented this home-away-from-home for a family gathering - some from Colorado and others from Michigan. It had enough space that we could all be together (13 of us!) or we could find our own "quiet" spot. The location is within a 10 minute drive of downtown West Yellowstone and the west entrance to the park. We had a couple meals in town, but made good use of the kitchen most nights. We would highly recommend this property!

Excellent stay

This property was perfect for a 5 day trip we made to Yellowstone recently. The property is 10-15 minutes away from the town of West Yellowstone where you can get groceries/supplies. Many cabins of this size are poorly maintained but not this one. It does appear that the managers have invested in upgrades/upkeep. The kitchen is well stocked (plates, spoons/forks, cooking utensils, coffee mugs, glass cups, blender). Before you head out into town to get groceries, I recommend you to check if there is anything left over by previous renters (sugar, salt etc). There is a large washer/dryer . The property overlooks a vast lawn/open space. It was great to start the morning drinking coffee on the outdoor deck. The property has lots of board games and pool table/foosball for the end of the day when you are back from yellowstone. Cable tv is also available, but a few more dvds would have been appreciated (I realize tough to please everyones taste). In a large property like this internet can be spotty, but it was a blessing in disguise as it helped us enjoy the property and more importantly yellowstone. I had strong cellphone reception for Verizon. Rooms were all very comfortable and clean. Bathrooms had shower gel, handwash and towels

All in all we had a very pleasant stay!
