This is a roughly 1,000 square foot home that has two queen size beds in separate bedrooms, a fully stocked kitchen open to a great dining room area, a living room with two reclining couches and Dish Network/HBO/Netflix 40 inch TV, and a full office.
The office includes a PC and printer for your use. The home has broadband WiFi and includes a Verizon cell phone extender so you can make and receive calls via the internet (Winifred doesn't have cell phone access otherwise).
We set up this house to allow us to be as comfortable and productive as possible when we are in town, and we think you will find it to be a very good place to get away from home and relax, while still being as connected (or disconnected) as you want.
The home features central air conditioning and central natural gas heating.
If you are ready to ditch the car after a long trip, this home is your perfect remedy. It's located in the heart of downtown Winifred, and is a short walk to the grocery store, bars, restaurants, mini golf course, bowling alley, swimming pool, city park, and community center/museum.
Brad grew up in Winifred before going off to school at Montana State University and ultimately ending up in California. Dee was born and raised in San Francisco. So between the two of us, we have seen, and have a profound love and appreciation for, both the very urban and very rural parts of our country.
Julie Bergum Ewen purchased this condo in 2012
Winifred holds a very special place in our hearts. It's the place where Brad grew up, and it's a large part of who he is. When the opportunity arose for us to have our own little place to call home in Winifred, we jumped at the chance.
Winifred is truly a place like no other. It's a small town that has a deep history of rugged individuals, while at the same time embracing the future. It's an area where you can drive on gravel roads for hours and hours without seeing pavement, and you can walk in places where you can be sure that no human has ever walked before. It's a place of cowboys and farmers, basketball players and golfers, dinosaurs hunters and elk hunters, river floaters and fishermen, families, dreamers, and doers.
This is a well-appointed condo in an authentic little Western town, providing excellent access to numerous outstanding landscapes along the Missouri Breaks. The owners are accommodating and friendly, giving great value and a unmatched lodging opportunity.
Three of us stayed in this unit while hunting this fall. The evenings found us at the warm and comfortable Brick Flat building. The bedrooms and bathrooms were modern and clean. The kitchen and dining area were well appointed and stocked with all of the necessary appliances and utensils. The living room was very comfortable with a great TV. Above all, this unit was very clean. The three nights we stayed there the outside temperature dipped to minus 18. Staying warm was not a problem since the heating system worked to perfection.
I hope to stay in this unit in the future and would highly recommend it to any family or group traveling to this area.
I have to admit, I stay in some fancy places during my Western States travels.
I felt right at home here in Winifred, Montana.
I really liked the laundry right there and the use of the PC with printer.
Having Wi-Fi for my I5Phone and my IPadmini was wonderful.
The Grocery Store was well stocked with options and the Café over fed me for the prices!
Thanks so very much and I am back in late September, and hoping for Mid-November dates to open up.
Winifred is the primary access point to the Missouri River Breaks National Monument. The town boasts a bowling alley, mini golf course, bars, a grocery store, restaurants, a historical/natural history museum, and countless outdoor activities.
Winifred has the best of both worlds -- endless outdoor space with the modern comforts of a city.
