I'm originally from Long Island, New York. Moved to Florida in 1982, have two great kids, boys , (the loves of my life). I love the outdoors, the water, riding motorcycles, camping, fishing, animals,(soft spot), horseback riding(have a horse, dogs & cats). I love the fact that after so many hardships in my life, I was able to make some of my dreams come true! One of which was buying my beautiful cottage/cabin in Bryson City, North Carolina!! Now, I can share it with you too! I fell in love with this beautiful little town 4 years ago and really didn't want to go back home after my vacation there. But, I had to. I still can't believe I did it. I hope that when you decide to go on vacation, you will want to come to Nanny's Creek Side Cabin. I know that you will enjoy it as much as I do! How I came about naming my cabin is, when I was a little girl, my dad, who was my best friend, used to call me Nanny(when I was good... Lol) my dad passed away almost 9 years ago, so, in memory of my dad, my best friend, he is a part of the cabin.
Nancy Giaccio purchased this cabin in 2013
I have been looking for a place here in Bryson City for 4 years now. It had to be the 'right' place. I wanted to be by a creek, woods, and to have 'easy year round access'
I found Bryson City by accident. I wanted to come to North Carolina, rent a cabin on a mountain, and view the fall season of which I had missed for so long. I did get to do that, and, at the same time, absolutely fell in love with this quaint little town with so much to offer! I cannot tell you how many places it took to find EXACTLY what I was looking for! When I came to this property, walked around, saw the creek, came inside, I knew this was 'the one'. I felt as if I was home. And that is how I want you to feel when you come to Nanny's Creekside Cabin
One of the reasons why I fell in love with this property is the 'ease of access' It is off of a state maintained road. The drive here is very scenic, and curvy. It is very close to all the anemnities, such as restaurants, grocery stores, The Great Smoky Mountain Railroad, The Nantahala Outdoor Center, The Nantahala Forest, Cherokee Indian Village/museum, Harrah's Cherokee Casino, where they have great headliner shows and gambling, Maggie Valley Ski Resort and hot springs, etc. My favorite place in my home is the screen porch in the back where I can have my morning coffee and see and hear the creek right below me. The living room is my next favorite place where I can snuggle up on the reclining sofa listening to the crackling of the wood burning fireplace and just enjoy the peace and quiet. The master bath has a great jacuzzi tub to relax you right before bed time. In the evenings, you can sit by the firepit and either roast some marshmallows or, make some s'mores while telling stories, or just reminicing about the great day you had together. Go exploring in the woods next to the house. You never know what you might see!!
We are so grateful for our visit to Nanny's Creekside Cabin. It was meant to be a relaxing getaway, and it was. I had enough pots and dishes to make and serve a full thanksgiving meal (improvised on a couple of things). We watched football on the large flatscreen television on the comfy sectional (2 people can fit on one cushion), and enjoyed the hot tub on several occasions. We explored a little bit of downtown Bryson City (I wish we could have done more), and we took a hike around Swain Recreation Center with our dog -- there are amazing views at the top of the mountain. Thank you for sharing your cabin with us, Nancy.
We loved this place! It was so comfy it felt just like home. It is located close to Bryson City where we enjoyed riding the Great Smoky Mountains Railroad. We also went to Cherokee and spent the day.We hope to visit again. Thank you Nancy for sharing your cabin with us!!
This cabin felt like home away from home! The owner simply thought of everything needed to make this stay comfortable and convenient for their guests and we could not have been more pleased with it. The location by the quick moving creek was serene and peaceful and the back deck was perfect for hanging out and listening to the water. There is a fire pit which we didn't use but looked PERFECT for a nice fall or winter night fire with smores and also has a nicely built picnic table to hang out on. The inside is very clean and decorated nicely. The house is laid out perfect and its great that there is a hot tub and Jacuzzi tub to relax in after you've enjoyed the day of hiking and exploring. The owner responded quickly to questions and was so nice about letting us bring our sweet pug, Izzy along. (She was lazy the entire time and enjoyed her stay too) Even Gertie the housekeeper was so pleasant and kind. We HIGHLY recommend this home to anyone looking for a place that is accommodating in every way you could think of. The kitchen is also beautiful! and the couches very comfy for relaxing in the evenings. Cant say enough great things about this place and we definitely plan on staying again in our future. THANK YOU FOR A BEAUTIFUL LABOR DAY VACATION
Owner was very easy to contact and kept us informed when there were problems with hot tub and jacuzzi not working. House was clean and everything necessary provided.
We enjoyed our week in Noth Carolina. Bryson City has many great restaurants with friendly people and good food. It's close to any sort of entertainment you could desire.
This little retreat is very well maintained and extremely well equipped. The owner is cheerful and available by phone
if you need help, and gets back to you immediately. The AC was much appreciated during my stay. The stream by the
house is Norman Rockwell pretty. Though I never found time to use the hot tub, I will in the future.
This is the perfect home base to explore Bryson City, Maggie Valley, The road to nowhere and many great hiking trails.
The Smokey Mountain Community Theater is a romp! The Filling Station Deli is a brilliant place for lunch, catering
a hike or picnic or the ride home. I've never met more congenial people than the shop owners and employees - from the
clerks at Ingall's to the waitstaff at Cork and Bean.
It was a picture perfect week that I hope to repeat.
Stayed here with my daughters. The house is close enough to Bryson city with lots to do. It was clean and comfortable. The outdoor screened in balcony was absolutely perfect with the sound of the stream running just below.
Nantahala River for white water rafting. Fontana Lake close to Almond Boat ramp for renting boats. Bryson City- The Great Smoky Mountain Railroad, groceries, waterfalls-deep creek for tubing, tail of the dragon for the motorcyclist, Tsali mountain hiking. biking and, horseback riding. Cherokee Indian Reservation & casino. And for an absolutely STUNNING VIEW, The Fontana Dam! It is a fantastic drive there with beautiful curvy roads, rock faced mountains, places to pull over and take some AMAZING pictures! The view from the Dam is like no other! There are so many things to do for the outdoor type of people. Fly fishing, bird watching, kayaking on the lake underneath the wings of a Bald Eagle. Watch as he dives from the sky to the water to catch his meal. It is an awesome sight!! The sunrises coming up from behind the mountains facing east and, the sunsets going down behind the mountains looking west. You are definitely in God's Country. Make sure you have your camera. You will definitely get some AMAZING PICTURES!!
