Rent this wonderful 3 bd/2 bath home in Cocoa Beach on the Grand Canal with unobstructed views of spectacular sunsets over an island cove. Fish off the spacious private dock, or launch one of our 5 kayaks and paddle or fish in the secluded Thousand Islands Wildlife Refuge just yards away. Enjoy daily visitations by porpoise and manatee, along with an incredible array of exotic birds. Walk or bike through the peaceful neighborhood to see the sunrise on a quiet beach, or have a meal at one of a dozen restaurants in downtown Cocoa Beach; both beach and town are an easy 1/4 mile walk away.
The kitchen is all new with beautiful cabinets, new stainless appliances, granite countertops and a large island opening to the living and dining areas. The master bath is completely redone with granite countertops and tiled showers in both.
Newly installed travertine tile is gorgeous and practical in all common areas and baths, and fresh paint and new crown and base molding throughout. From the sunroom you can look out past the screened-in swimming pool to the Thousand Islands of the Banana River. Savor your morning coffee contemplating the wonders of birds and water and sea life from your dock! You'll watch graceful porpoise as they hunt for a meal just beyond your dock.
Karen and David, newly retired teacher and project director/engineer, live in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and plan to spend a good amount of time in Cocoa Beach where each morning begins with coffee and quiet time on the dock, watching the pelicans, osprey and porpoise hunting for breakfast.
David Gregory purchased this house in 2013
David and Karen are fulfilling a dream of many years by buying and renovating a house in this incredibly beautiful location. David grew up in Cocoa Beach surfing, canoeing and fishing throughout the Thousand Islands, he and Karen love to share its beauty with family and friends.
You'll get a true sense of the house and its attributes but words fall short in fully describing the unparralled beauty and ecological diversity of the Thousands Islands and the Banana River Lagoon
This was our 4th stay at David + Karen's lovely home. The weather was perfect. The family reunion was enjoyed by all with Christmas tree, turkey dinner, present sharing, and lots of kayaking. Last year, we saw the historic SpaceX test launch and landing; and this time we watched from the back yard as an Atlas V took off. This visit, we took the helicopter ride over NASA, which was a blast. Doug went zip-lining at the zoo practically every other day, saving tons of $$ with a membership. During our stay, we thought about taking a short cruise out of Cape Canaveral to Bahamas. Even got our passports updated. But then we figured that we'd be sitting by their pool (instead of yours), gazing out onto the water (ditto), sipping something cool. So we simply veg'd in our own private paradise instead. Everything we needed was right there. We found a family of manatees with baby, kayaked daily with dolphin pods, took long walks along the beach, discovered some super finds while antiquing. Check-out Cocoa Beach Friday Fest (every 3rd Friday), Dinosaur Store, Cocoa Beach Pier, and the giant aquarium in Four Points Sheraton by Ron Jons. David + Karen were helpful, answering any questions we had during our stay.
Our second stay at this lovely property was just as fine as the first. We are Canadian seniors who like a quiet, relaxing place to spend our vacation; we fell in love with this home last year and couldn't wait to come back. The quiet neighbourhood, beautiful home, restful view of the Thousand Islands and proximity to the beach make this perfect for us. This year we had the opportunity to meet the owners, David and Karen, who spare no effort to make your stay enjoyable. Kayaking, walking on the beach, biking, endless wildlife sightings...we'll keep coming as long as they let us!
This beautifully renovated home is accurately represented by the pictures shown in the posting. We visited during September with great weather and the absence of crowds. The house is located in a quiet and safe neighborhood blocks away from SRA1A and directly on the Banana River. Just down the street is a spacious waterfront park perfect for your dog and/or kids. The house is well stocked with everything you might need and more, the best stocked kitchen we've ever encountered, kayaks, bikes, HD big screen TV, private dock on the river and a private screened pool. It's the perfect location for exploring everything along the space coast from Titusville south to Sebastian Inlet. Extremely clean and so much better than staying in a hotel!
Where to begin with this wonderful beach home. It has everything you could possibly desire for a wonderful beach vacation. We were there in August and were able to experience the bio-luminescent waters, which make the see creatures come to life in such an absolute magical way at night. The porpoises and manatees are regular visitors and this phenomenon allows them to literally glow with a lovely blue aura that's just impossible to describe. It has all the amenities of home, including a washer and dryer, fully loaded kitchen, several kayaks to accommodate your friends and family, wonderful wildlife and great fishing. You are minutes from the beach and all kinds of restaurants and shops. On top of all this, you have a beautiful pool to take refuge in from the heat. We absolutely love this place and hope to be able to experience it again. The experience has inspired us to someday live here.
A single month is not enough time to spend at this wonderful house in Cocoa Beach. We spent the month of May biking, kayaking, swimming and generally having a blast. We even kayaked with the manatees on the canal right next to the house. This rental home is amazing. The photos accurately represent the home. It has all the comforts of home including a big screen television, extremely comfortable living room furniture, and a full sized kitchen. I slept on all the beds and even the futon in the Florida room. Every one of them was really comfortable.
We would love to move to Cocoa Beach, especially if we could find a home as nice as this one. Having stayed at this rental home has spoiled us for any other.
Many thanks to David and Karen. Thanks for allowing us, our friends, and our pets the opportunity to live in your beautiful waterfront home. No doubt, we will be staying with you again.
My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at this property in January, 2015. It was our first extended holiday in Florida and we couldn't have made a better choice. As the photos show, the home is beautifully appointed, spacious and comes with an ever-changing view off the backyard dock. The Thousand Islands are right there, a short kayak trip away, and filled with wildlife.
Our daily routine: an hour's stroll on the beach (a few minutes walk away), bike ride, kayak excursion, swim in the pool, relax and watch the sunset. The neighborhood is safe and quiet, and there are plenty of sights to see in the nearby area. Orlando and its airport are just an hour away.
The owners, David and Karen, have done everything you could want to make sure your stay is a great one.
Will we be back? Already booked for next year!
