Our clients do not permit Instant Booking, preferring instead to know who is staying in their home. We'll respond to your inquiry within 1 hour of submission during our hours of operation, 9AM-8PM Monday-Friday, 10AM-5PM Saturday and Sunday.

Centrally located in Downtown Asheville; duplex in elevator building, bright 2 king bedroom, each with en-suite bath plus half bath, queen sleeper sofa, high ceilings, exposed brick walls, steel beams, granite counter tops, stainless steel appliances, washer/dryer, hard wood floors throughout, outdoor deck, 1 parking space. Decorated and outfitted with the comfort of our guests in mind. Located on the 4th floor of the historic S&W Building, right in the heart of Downtown Asheville.

Enjoy Asheville's great restaurants, galleries, day spas, shopping, and eclectic atmosphere. You are just minutes from some of the best mountain, or leisure, biking around, white water rafting, rock climbing, hiking, canoeing, golf, or take a ride on America's favorite scenic byway, the Blue Ridge Parkway.

If you have more then 1 car in your party, parking is available in several Municipal Parking Garages (Rankin & Civic Center) located within a 1 - 2 block walk of the S&W building, at guest's expense. The first hour of parking is free, $1.00 per hour for each hour or fraction thereof, daily maximum parking $10. On street meterd parking is FREE Saturday 6PM-Monday 8AM, and all city holidays; New Year's Day, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Friday after Thanksgiving, and Christmas (3 days). Special event single occurrence: $7; Multi-day event: $5.

Southern Gem Loft

Our stay at the Southern Gem Loft in Asheville, NC was amazing! My husband and I especially loved the décor and the level of security. We literally parked our car upon arrival and walked to everything we wanted to do. We can't wait to visit again!!!!

Perfect for two couples. Ideal downtown location.

The Southern Gem was a perfect spot for our recent couples' getaway. Two king size bedrooms, so no awkwardness about who gets the master. It is ideally located downtown, so we were able to walk out to restaurants, bars, brewery tours and weekend markets. It is beautifully decorated and has cool exposed brick and a large deck. The only thing I would change would be to lower the deck wall since you can't actually see over it. We're guessing it was left in place due to historic building codes. Again, it was beautifully appointed except for one very worn, pilled blanket in the downstairs bedroom. It was completely inconsistent with the quality of the rest of the furnishings. Otherwise, would absolutely recommend and will stay there again.

Perfect place for a perfect weekend

We loved the Southern Gem - it was the perfect place for a girls weekend in Asheville. Just a short walk from anything we wanted to do in downtown. The property management provided great instructions for arrival, entry and parking (what a blessing to have parking provided!), and they stayed in touch throughout the weekend to make sure we had everything we needed. Will definitely be back!

We loved Southern Gem. Beautiful decor, comfy beds, lovely large deck and one of my favorite parts - the upstairs closet has a view! The location couldn't be better. We walked everywhere we needed to go downtown.

Great place with numerous amenities. Highly recommend. Only negative is that the pull out sofa bed is not very comfortable. The other two beds are big and comfortable. Within walking distance of everything in Asheville.
