We loved our stay at the the lodge. The accommodations were cozy and comfortable, and the owner really worked hard to make sure our needs were met. I can't recommend Ruby Valley Lodge highly enough. It's an absolutely delightful place to stay.
The best relaxing fun filled vacation. The cabin was homey and more than we ever expected. Thanks to owner who keep it well maintain and reasonable priced to the average folks.....
We very much enjoyed our stay at Ruby Valley Lodge in the beautiful Ruby Valley! Thank you for sharing your charming piece of heaven.
We were looking for a spot to simply get away and Ruby Valley Lodge was just the place. The cabin is clean, well-maintained and was the perfect lay-out for two couples (my wife and I together with our son and his wife). It's also in a perfect location with a couple of restaurants and the supermarket an easy walk away.
The kitchen is well-stocked with all dishes, pots, pans, seasoning and condiments we needed to stay in and cook a few times - plus it was perfect for breakfast and lunch every day.
Great fishing spots are all over the place and always as short or as long a drive as we wanted to make. Highly suggest "Alder Bridge" and then working your way up the river. We also loved "Vigilante" up near the dam. We fished there a lot and it was great because the wives who weren't interested in fishing with us, could spend part of the day sitting and watching on the ridge just above the river.
The owners are terrific and although not on property, they've found a perfect person, "Jane", to keep an eye on things. We met her sort of by accident as we were checking in. She gave us some great tips on restaurants and couldn't have been nicer.
We're now counting the days until the next trip!
PS Sheridan is a perfect location with easy access to some of the greatest fishing rivers in Montana. Plus, if you want a change of scenery, Butte and Bozeman are just short drives away.
This is our 5th time staying at the Sportsman's Paradise. If you are looking for a unique place to stay this is it. The house used to be the fly shop for the town of Sheridan and they have done a great job of converting it into a great and comfortable place to stay. Sheridan is a great town to stay in; small but with everything you need and close to some great fishing. We will keep coming back.
Our stay at Ruby Valley Lodge had all that we expected and more! The entire family commented on how clean, comfortable, and well-stocked the cabin was. It was roomy with plenty of seating for dining and relaxing either inside or outside on the partios or backyard. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen stocked with everything you could need, and the location couldn't be beat. In a week, we were able to visit much of the Ruby Valley and River, Madison Valley and River, Snake River, Branham Lakes, Tobacco Root Mountains, Yellowstone National Park, Ruby Reservoir, Henry's Lake, and more. We are already talking about making return plans. We highly recommend this cabin for a family reunion, fishing or hunting party, or just to experience the beauty of nature and small town hospitality of Sheridan, Montana. It was a wonderful and awesome experience!
For those who like to hike, backpack, and/or hunt, access to the vast Beaverhead National Forest is 16 miles out of town. Depending on the time of year, horseback riding, panning for gold, garnet hunting, snowmobiling, and snowshoeing are available nearby. Other activities include sightseeing, bike riding, rafting, and taking photographs. Another activity is visiting the nearby old mining towns of Nevada City and Virginia City. Yellowstone National Park is a scenic 1 1/2 hr. drive to the southeast.
