Our home is a charming single level, open floor plan home in a very quiet and private gated community.
This home sleeps 6 comfortably and can sleep 8 if you need. We have 3 bedrooms with queen beds, 2 baths and 1 office with a queen sized hide-a-bed. The guestrooms have a beautiful view of the Superstition Mountains and the Master bedroom has a walk-in shower & walk-in closet plus a beautiful bedroom suite with lots of storage. This room also overlooks the pool and spa in our very private backyard.
The kitchen is fully equipped with microwave, dishwasher, fridge with ice maker, coffee maker, blender, place settings for 8, including acrylic glasses for your afternoon “happy hour” on the deck overlooking the pool. We also have full sized washer & dryer for your use.
There is no shortage of golf courses in close proximity. These are a few close golf courses; Sidewinder, Gold Canyon Golf Resort, Dinosaur Mountain and Mountain Brook.
Our home is located very close to the Superstition Mountains which has incredible hiking and includes a variety of natural features in addition to the mountain that is its namesake. Weaver's Needle, a prominent landmark and rock climbing destination set behind and to the east of Superstition Mountain, is a tall erosional remnant that plays a significant role in the legend of the Lost Dutchman's Gold Mine. Peralta Canyon, on the northeast side of Superstition Mountain, contains a popular trail that leads up to Freemont Saddle, which provides a very picturesque view of Weaver's Needle. Miner's Needle is another prominent formation in the wilderness and a popular hiking destination. Plus just minutes from this our home is Canyon Lake, surrounded by mountains and breathtaking sunsets. Take a ride on Dolly the Steamboat or rent a boat or jet skis.
We are located approximately 45 minutes east on US-60 from downtown Phoenix/Sky Harbor Airport or an easy 20 minutes from Williams Gateway Airport.
You’ll be amazed at how removed yet so close you are to big city amenities. Just 45 minutes from downtown Phoenix. Easy freeway access to Chandler, Gilbert and Scottsdale. Approximately 2.5 hours to Sedona, a must-see during your stay and about 4.5 hours to the Grand Canyon.
My husband and I own this property. I am a Canadian HR professional that absolutely loves Arizona and my husband is a Plumber by trade.
The Owner purchased this house in 2009
We immediately fell in love with this home and the location. The open floor plan is great and I love that the master bedroom is very private from the 2 guest rooms.
The location is perfect, lots of outdoor activities, amazing golf, grocery shopping and restaurants 5 min away and yet such a quiet area.
We also have a raised toilet in the main bathroom, along with an assistance bar for getting in and out of the bath tub or you have the option of a walk-in shower in the ensuite.
This is a very quiet neighbourhood and we hope that you love it as much as we do!
We choose this property for the proximity to our family in Gold Canyon. The house has exactly as advertised, although we spent most of our time at our families house this gave us our own space to kick back and relax. We would certainly come to stay again.
We enjoyed our stay! The house was very well stocked with everything you need. Thoroughly enjoyed the pool and hot tub. Parking was a little tight with 2 vehicles, but we made it work. The gated community made it very private and quiet. Nice home!!
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property. We spent most of our time relaxing in the back yard, cooling off in the pool or enjoying the hot tub in the cool evening air. The inside was equally enjoyable with clean, comfortable beds and a fully stocked kitchen. If you are coming for golf, there are 4 very nice courses within minutes of the house, along with plenty to do for the adventurous type in the Superstition Mountains. I would recommend this property to any family or friends looking to spend a week or more in Phoenix.
My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at this fantastic "home away from home" for the month of February 2016. We found nothing that disappointed us in our stay. This comfortable home easily accommodated us and visitors; for a few days, our family included 8 people (aged 5 months to 70 years) with very little disorder and less of the usual insanity that accompanies larger family getaways. We credit our great vacation experience, from the beginning to the end, to our hosts. In particular, our main contact Shirley, was beyond helpful. Shirley responded right away to our initial reservation inquiry and had amazing patience in responding to all of our questions. We found Shirley to be very kind, welcoming and informative. This well maintained/clean home is located in a small gated community where we never felt unsafe wandering the neighbourhood. The interior is well appointed and well kept - the online pictures depict the living areas very accurately. The kitchen/dining area easily seats 6 adults, and is well equipped to serve at least 10 with quality cookware, flatware and dishes - there was no need to bring spices or other basic pantry items as the essentials for the kitchen/laundry/bathroom were all provided. The private backyard easily seats at least 8 for a relaxing meal - the propane bbq is kept in great condition. We miss our evening hot tub visits where we spent a lot of time exploring the star lit skies - we are pretty sure we discovered a new galaxy (us "city folks" are not used to seeing that many stars). We used the heated "sports depth" pool for the last two weeks of our stay, and enjoyed the heated hot tub each day for the whole month. The total propane cost for the month, at $2.40/gal, was around $400 (filling the 100 gal tank twice). There are lots of "floaty things" and plenty of pool towels provided. The neighbours were great - shout out to Gene and Aynn. The living room is equipped with a large "smart" TV . Our favourite vacation "expedition" of all was right in the backyard where somewhere between the orange, grapefruit and lemon trees, a family of hummingbirds built an amazing little nest for their two itzy bitzy jellybean size eggs. We let Shirley know that we are reluctant to leave a glowing review of our stay, only because we would be encouraging competition when our schedules enable us to visit again. Until the next time, thanks for the hospitality, hopefully we will be back. Deb and Ken
Everything about our stay at Gold Canyon was wonderful! The house is very cozy, and had everything we needed in it! The back yard was fabulous, we enjoyed the hummingbirds and many dinners on the patio. The location is excellent for touring, shopping etc., golf courses nearby were great too! I really appreciated how everything went with Shirley, from booking our trip to the arrival and departure instructions everything went very smoothly. We would love to go back again next year! Thank you, Shirley for everything!
3 of us stayed for a week to golf in the quiet Gold Canyon area. It was a relaxing stay in a beautiful home with all the little extras. The direct TV, free phone, internet, BBQ, hot tub were all appreciated. Towels, shampoo, soap, and all those small cooking ingredients and condiments were all in abundance. We will likely rebook next year.
