Come relax in this beautiful St Teresa Beach Cottage!

Bedrooms 3
Property type cottage
Minimum Stay 4 nights

About the property

3 Bedrooms, 2 Bathrooms, Sleeps 8

Would you like to escape the electronics age? Come to get away at old St Teresa where there is no phone, no TV and no internet. A place inhabited by families that are descendants of people who came here in the late 1800’s in mule drawn wagons with chickens, cows and pigs in tow. Sitting high on a bluff, surrounded by twisted scrub oaks and facing a spectacular view of the gulf, this place is a nature lover’s delight and child’s heaven. Watch the porpoise’ play in front of you and listen to the hoarse cry of the majestic grey Heron. Sandpipers of all types run along the beach as you walk. The rare white squirrels will entertain you with their antics. Check out the flats during low tide and be amazed by the abundance of sea life. Watch the sunset from the neighborhood dock or on the private deck by the beach in front of the house.

Read a book, play cards, take the best nap you will ever have. With no undertow the bay is a very nice place to swim and great place to fish off the dock. And if you have a boat there is a private buoy out in front of our cottage. Boat landing is within 2 miles of our place.

Cook fresh seafood you can purchase from Myway in Panacea or go out for seafood at the Seinyard Restaurant, a short distance from the house in a waterfront cutting edge architectural building. There is also Angelo’s famous for fine seafood in a beautiful building perched over the Ochlocknee river. Also casual and tropical Shrimp Trading Company close by in a beachcomber cottage. Outside dining is available in all three places.

If you stay more than a weekend a day trip to Apalachicola (less than an hour away) is a must. One of the oldest towns in our country and famous for its oysters this historic place has been lovingly restored with all its charm. There you can visit Downtown Books, Petunias (a shop for animal lovers) and a myriad of shops such as Coast and Oystercatcher (Casual Clothes), Funky Fiddler (Painted cypress and one of kind pieces) and the Apalachicola sponge shop which not only sells authentic sponges but treasures from all over the world. There are many many more shops plus a large choice of places to eat like the Owl Restaurant (*****), Tamara’s (South American cuisine) and The Grill with their wonderful seafood gumbo, The historic Gibson Inn not to be missed for at least a drink but also includes fine dining.

St Teresa Retreat

  • 5 of 5

From the moment we pulled into the gate and saw Tricia’s Sanctuary I knew this was going to be special. From the sweet rustic fragrance of the cypress wood permeating the cottage to the quiet tranquility of the seashore looking out into St Teresa Bay, Tricia’s Sanctuary is absolutely beautiful! Mooring our boat right out front within 50 feet of the shore is a big plus. The views from inside are fantastic! Everything you need for comfort and cooking too! I am looking forward to our return trip in October!

Our new favorite vacation spot!

  • 5 of 5

Our family absolutely loved our stay at this St. Teresa Beach cottage! Ms. Lee is so friendly and easy to get in touch with if you have any questions. Our group was my husband and myself, our 3 children ages 11, 7, and 4, and my mother. This beach is so quiet, secluded, and wildlife abounds. My kids were so excited to head to the beach to see what new creature they would discover every day. We saw horseshoe crabs of every size. There were hermit crabs, blue crabs, ghost crabs, and snails uncountable. My son's favorite find was a tiny puffer fish he caught one morning while walking in knee deep water. There were dolphins, and a couple porpoises swam around near the dock where my my husband was fishing one morning. From the screened porch, we watched pelicans swoop down and catch their supper every evening. We also saw a couple of sting rays and very small sharks. We got a kick out of seeing the white squirrel run around the yard! The house is so comfortable and well kept. The kitchen is also very well supplied, but there are also enough good restaurants nearby that you don't have to cook unless you want to. Angelo's was amazing and just about 10 minutes away!! We visited Wakulla Springs, which is just about a 40 minute drive and SO worth the trip. The Gulf Specimen Aquarium was also a big hit for our kids. We will definitely be back!!

Most Memorable Vacation

  • 5 of 5

Our family will talk about this vacation for many years to come. Our four children, at the time, were 13, 12, 12, and 3. The older children appreciated being unplugged from their electronic devices and enjoyed exploring the area and shoreline. They paddle boarded and kayaked and hardly came out of the water. I felt comfortable allowing our toddler to play in the calm water without worrying about rough waves knocking him over. It truly was a relaxing, quiet vacation in which teens, toddlers and grown ups thoroughly enjoyed. I am regretful that I didn't book soon enough for our return this summer. Miss Inez is a thoughtful and sweet soul who truly wants every family to enjoy her home.

Three couples enjoyed a beautiful Memorial Day vacation at this very clean and comfortable cottage. The location was ideal and having the boat out front made the fishing trips hassle free. The large dining room table had room for everyone and guest.

We especially enjoyed the beach deck, so relaxing.
