The Talkeetna Majestic is made of massive hand-scribed logs set on a private wooded lot located in an amazing little Alaskan town with room for your family or several couples. Relax on the porch with custom railing of wild iris flowers or on one of the two balconies surrounded by a birch and spruce forest. A 10 minute walk to the restaurant, shops and activities of 'Beautiful Downtown Talkeetna' -- which is about 6 blocks long! At the end of Main Street you can find the Talkeetna River and a breathtaking, awe inspiring view of Denali and the Alaska Range. Good restaurants and shops with items by Alaskan artists, Great for a day trip or on your way to Denali National Park or Fairbanks.
NEED MORE SPACE? Consider "THE LOFT CABIN" on the same property. The Loft sleeps 2-4 with an equipped kitchen and full bath. See property 589159 or call for more information.
The Talkeetna Majestic was started in 2005 and took 5 summers to build as a family vacation home. I think it is truly spectacular and enjoyed being there so much that in 2011 wedecided to share it with summer visitors which has been great fun. I have lived in and traveled throughout Alaska since 2000 while working in various real estate ventures.
Francine Curran purchased this house in 2005
everything was great, Francine was delightful. Just not long enough
Majestic is just that ... majestic! This log cabin home is unique, beautifully appointed, and well furnished. The six of us (three couples) all enjoyed our private space and the homes shared areas. The kitchen is nice and we were able to cook a lavish meal for ourselves. There's also a beautiful front porch for gathering at the end of the day to enjoy drinks, appetizers and the great outdoors. The property was clean and well maintained. Majestic is located about a mile from the train station, and maybe half a mile from town -- an easy and scenic walk. Our host was also wonderful. She was customer-service focused, helpful and made great suggestions on what to do during our stay. We booked a flightseeing tour on Talkeetna Air, just blocks from the property, which was very convenient. And she recommended our fishing guide, a local who was quite knowledgable about the river and a great story teller. We ate in town at the Talkeetna Roadhouse, which offers beautiful baked goods and hugely delicious breakfasts (check out Rudy in a Parka), ordered pizza from Mountain High Pizza Pie (good pizza, not so good service) and had dinner at the Wildflower Cafe, which was sensational. We highly recommend staying at the Majestic. It was truly a unique experience and the ideal home for a vacation and celebration. You won't find anything else like this in town!
Our family really enjoyed Talkeetna and this lovely home. Francine is super easy to work with and was able to accommodate our change in schedule. She helped us with local sight seeing (Talkeetna Air Taxi is fabulous!!) and we enjoyed the Mahay Jet Boat Trip also. The only reason for only 4 stars is no outdoor grill, we have a "thing" about kitchen conveniences ie: sharp knives and the downstairs bedroom is super cramped. Talkeetna is a fun town and we were lucky enough to have sun shine apparently NOT the norm the entire time. Thanks for helping us have a great vacation in Alaska!
Our family of 5 (including 3 teens) was very comfortable in this cabin, with excellent space for sleeping, cooking, and relaxing. The location was quiet and private, and was an easy 1/2 mile walk into "downtown" Talkeetna for meals, souvenir shopping and/or heading out on excursions. Francine provided us with good information about local amenities and activities. During our 4 night stay, we took a flightseeing excursion with Talkeetna Air Taxi (awesome!) and a guided fishing outing (this turned out to be a bit of a disappointment, as only 1 fish was caught during our 5 hours of fishing). I would definitely recommend this property for a family or group staying in the Talkeetna area.
The majestic was an amazing place for us to call home for two nights! Beautiful, clean, and thoughtful touches. Our family of six enjoyed our time in Talkeetna and we all enjoyed meeting Francine and hearing the history of the home. Would rent again and stay longer!
Talkeetna is fun to hang out in, with colorful folks, live music and exciting things to do. Have a drink at the historic Fairview Inn or the West Rib Pub. Listen to music in Village Park, get ice cream at Nagley's General Store...maybe see Stubbs, our mayor, the cat. Or spend time at the Talkeetna river looking at the amazing Denal view. You can take the "Hurricaine Train" of the Alaska Railroad, jetboat up a river to see eagles, go flightseeing around Denali or use Talkeetna Majestic as a base for hiking, fishing, rafting, dog sled riding, zip-lining or other Alaskan adventures. Only 2 hours north of Anchorage, great for a day trip or on your way to Denali National Park or Fairbanks.
