About Jim & Reta Taylor
I met my wife in 1966 in the area. She worked as a waitress at a local restaurant, and I ran a truck route through Slade, KY. I've always loved the area, and that's a part of the reason I built Cedar Palace.
Jim & Reta Taylor purchased this Cabin in 2006
Why Jim & Reta Taylor chose Stanton
We chose this property because of its location nearly right in the Gorge. It's such a beautiful place. Not to mention all of the fond memories of our younger days.
What makes this Cabin unique
After having finished the cabin, we realized this was a most wonderful spot to relax, and be in good company. It's so cozy during the winter, and refreshing during the summer.

We stayed at Cedar Palace this past weekend with three couples from college. The cabin had everything we needed/wanted! The location is great - easy to find, yet secluded. The cabin is large enough that we had plenty of room to spread out. Very relaxing!!!
We hope to return to Cedar Palace again someday.
We enjoyed our stay in the cabin and would stay again. There were 7 of us and we had room for at least that many more. It had everything we needed to make our weekend enjoyable. The only complaint was from the runners about the number of stairs in the cabin. It was a joke of course, but they were soooo sore from running the Rugged Red half-marathon. The owners were very helpful and informative.
Beautiful mountain home
The house was great and as advertised. Spacious bedrooms with lots of sleeping options. Very steep grade getting in and out with car but owner was very helpful in his suggestions on how to navigate. Everything in working order except satellite tv but owner plans to raise antennas. Pool table and decks were great. Everything clean. Owner extremely helpful and friendly and easy to reach. You might want to pick up groceries ahead of time as stores are somewhat remote
A piece of Heaven at Cedar Palace
I can’t say enough about our stay at the Cedar Palace in July. From the moment we arrived we were blown away at the lengths the owner went to to ensure our party of 11 had a wonderful stay. My husband and I usually rent a cabin at Natural Bridge each year for a family getaway, so we have stayed at numerous other properties. This cabin has been our favorite by far. We feel we have found the cabin that we hope to use for many years to come. Thank you, Jim Taylor for an amazing experience.
Very nice and spacious, enjoyed the pool table and corn hole for extra entertainment.
The drive was scary but added to the adventure of the place.
We enjoyed the short stay here.
The management communicated great and even called the day of to ensure there were no issues.
Supplies were stocked well and very spacious cabin.
It is close to the interstate. I am sure for some this is a plus and for others not. But, you still have a secluded feel with tons of woods around you and not a neighbor in site.
Our cabin is located across from the entrance to the Red River Gorge, and it's very close to Natural Bridge. Along the way you'll find Gift Shops, 'Mom 'n Pop' restaurants, and great places to stop for activities. You can hike hundreds of trails in the area! Also, it's a rock climbing hot-spot!
