This beautiful uptown 3 bedroom 2 bathroom is ready for you. It is beautifully furnished and offers off street parking.
It is minutes from downtown New Orleans. If you are hungry uptown is the place to be, Tons of magnificent restaurants without going downtown. Freret Street restaurant row is 5 minutes away. Great location for families visiting Tulane, Loyola and Xavier Universities.
Public transportation is just outside of the front door.
My husband and I are native New Orleanians that love the uptown area.
Carlette Williams purchased this house in 1999
We chose to buy this house because it was a diamond in the rough. It is approximately 100 years old and needed lots of work. With lots of love, attention to detail, and hard work it is now a beautiful home. Perfect for a family or small group to visit New Orleans and have the comforts of a house.
We fell in love with this house because it has a real majestic look from the curb. It was perfect for a 1st time buyer. It is centrally located and we can get to most parts of the city in 10 to 15 minutes. Sitting on the front porch during Mardi Gras is a great plus.
This house was exactly what we were looking for, convenient to Superdome and Tulane. The house is beautiful, comfortable, and very spacious. Plenty of off-street parking. It is well stocked and the owner is helpful and very easy to work with. Everyone that stayed was thrilled and our family that chose hotel rooms were jealous. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
Great house. Large rooms, nice decor and comfy beds.
Easy to find, good location.
A group of six of us rented this home for a recent stay in New Orleans for Mardi Gras and a friends 50th birthday. The home is very large and spacious. There was plenty of room for all of us without feeling crowded or on top of each other. The bathrooms are large and beautifully decorated. The location is ideal for easy access to Uptown, the Garden District, Magazine Street, the CBD, and Bourbon Street. The off-street parking is great if you are renting a car. The owner was very gracious and easy to work with. She responded quickly and made us feel very welcome. We would definitely rent this property again. Thanks!
We had a large group that came to New Orleans to celebrate our son's Marine Corps Commissioning and Graduation from Tulane. We had to rent two houses to accommodate all of us. However, this property was our gathering spot. It is perfect for entertaining!! We had 17 people over for dinner and visiting and it was the perfect place!! No one felt crowded or on top of each other. Carlette was a perfect host. She even came by on the spur of the moment to let my other son in who got locked out, he made it to graduation just in time!! All that stayed and visited this house loved it!! I would recommend it to anyone!!! Thanks for making our trip so great!!
I stayed here with a group of seven graduate students for our spring break and we all loved the house. The house is very spacious; full of old, elegant woodwork and furniture. The first thing I have to say is that the house looked much better and well lit in person than in the photo’s posted online. The house came fully stocked; kitchen, laundry, bathrooms, extra linen and towels, and TV’s in every room. Though we were there for spring break, and at the owners request (understandably) we did not have any party’s at the house, but used it to visit the French quarter, bourbon street, Charles street, and downtown. This house would be excellent for a large family, a group of adults, or college age kids. The owner is very nice and worked with us on any issues we had, including a very late booking.
Downside, if you don’t have a car, it is a little ways from downtown. More on the city than the house--the taxis are terrible and I would highly recommend renting a car if you can while you are here. If that doesn’t work for you there is a bus stop directly outside the house.
Great house and great location for Mardi Gras. Rex and Iris line up either in front of the house or one block from the house. Can walk to the other parades on Saint Charles. Owner is easy to deal with and house is spacious. Highly recommend for your next trip to New Orleans.
