Pristine wilderness surrounds Miller Lake Retreat LLC. If you would like to get away...From the hustle and bustle of the city life, then this is a great place to consider for your next vacation. Any time of the year, Miller Lake Retreat LLC is a unique S.E. Oklahoma destination.
Originally from Colorado, we went looking for a more remote, water and wildlife experience. We were told that natural lakes were not part of the Oklahoma experience, but the oxbow lake of the Kiamichi river, seems to be an exception and is VERY EXCEPTIONAL INDEED. Truly a beautiful change of pace from the hustle and bustle of the Colorado experience. No regrets!
Water, water everywhere. The river and lake and the wildlife that thrives here makes this a wonderful place to live. There is magic in the natural order of this area and its' rich native American history. This property has so much to give to those who choose to look. Nature at it's finest.
To share the experience with the guests who come to stay and find the magic in this unique property. Just a few at a time, the curious, the fishermen and the explorers, the people who cherish the nature that surrounds us here. Peace and quiet, an oxbow lake, the Kiamichi river, the herons, eagles, otters, beaver, deer and turkey, birds galore, and frogs and all the scary things too. Just a slice of the planet and the life that is allowed to thrive here. We try not to interfere in the ebb and flow of life, and we ask our guests to keep it clean and litter free, to help us recycle what we can and to leave a small foot print as they share this place.
We built a great little cottage/cabin on the lake and just want to share the adventure with a few others who love the planet, too.
I took my 2 sons and a friend for a one week stay at Miller Lake Retreat. The property is beautiful and flawlessly clean/pristine. We caught fish every day, hiked and saw wildlife every day, and had an exceptional vacation. The owners could not possibly be nicer or more accommodating. They are available at any time you need them. The cottage is clean, very spacious and well maintained. If you are looking for a place to get away and enjoy nature and all it has to offer....this is it.
The place was gorgeous and amazing. Very private and lots to do. Great fishing and lots of wildlife. Me and my family recommend to go and also Jerry and Debbie the owners are such great hospitable people .
My husband and I had a wonderful and relaxing three nights at the cabin. We really appreciated how clean and comfortable (the downstairs bed was super comfy) the entire cabin was for our visit. Having our favorite wine and fresh eggs on arrival (along with fresh wildflowers inside) were just a few of the lovely touches that made us feel immediately welcome to our cabin. Jerry and Debbie were perfect hosts (there anytime we needed anything, but respecting our desire for privacy as well), and the property has a natural beauty that is difficult to find anywhere, much less with a cabin rental. We fished(and caught) our dinner each night, rowed on the lake, took peaceful walks and had one of our most restful vacations ever. We loved our time there, and hope to make another trip in the fall so we can appreciate the large fire pit down by the lake (weather was a little too warm for us to enjoy it this visit). The pictures don't do justice to this wonderful cabin and surrounding natural beauty. Thank you so much Jerry and Debbie!
We cannot wait to return to this little piece of heaven! It is truly a magical place. The cottage is luxurious with every amenity you could ask for. The lake and grounds are magnificent and diverse. You can have as much privacy as you need or the delightful company of the owners Debbie and Jerry (which I highly recommend!) who are just as passionate about this beautiful property as you will be if you stay here. The fishing is excellent and the wildlife abundant. We have stayed at many properties in Southeastern Oklahoma. This is by far the very best of the best. Pat, Gigi, Austin and Roy Pierson
Aaahh where to begin... We celebrated Fathers Day at the cottage and from the moment we arrived we were amazed by the beauty and serenity of the place we were to call home for the next few days. Jerry and Debbie were so kind and sweet. Their hospitality and generosity are so beyond what we expected. Jerry spent so much time with us showing us how to fish, where to find the great spot. Showing us everything around the property. We fished, rowed, roamed, picked blackberries, fed Doc the horse, cut down trees, ate, swapped stories, and so much more with Jerry and Debbie. We absolutely loved the place and cannot wait to come back. We got in late every night because there was just so much to do, so much to see even when we just choose to sit outside and watch the river. Each night we would reflect on our favorite and least favorite part of the day and found our day/night so eventful and full of excitement that we cannot wait what's in store for us the next day. Our youngest who is 3 years old said to me once we got home, "I wish we could come there every weekend and fish and talk to Jerry!"
What a place!!!
