Cozy, quiet cottage with its own secure carport, private garden and patio with outdoor dining and barbecue. All new as of November 2013. Comfy king size bed with luxury linens, queen sleeper sofa for additional guests. Gorgeous travertine bathroom, and fully equipped kitchen. Close to Universal Studios and Hollywood. Good access to freeways, West side and beaches and all the diversity that Los Angeles has to offer.
We always try to stay at this cottage if it is available. Helen Walker does a fantastic job...you can always count on the rooms being clean and well supplied with needed utensils. She always leaves a great fruit-and-snack bowl for you, too.

The cottage was very nice. I arrived late at night but there was still no issue getting to the room. Loved the fact that I had my own carport ,with an overhead door that was easily accessed via remote control. Cottage was fully equipped from the kitchen area,bathroom and even the bedroom. I will definitely be staying here again whenever I'm back in town.
I could not have asked for a better fit for my needs. I loved the private access, the patio, and the parking w/ garage door (with opener I put in car) was a huge convenience. Parking in LA is always a challenge so it's nice to come home and have it be simple and easy. The kitchen had every single item you will ever need (more than I have at home) and the bathroom and shower are nice, new and spacious. Instructions were clear - they really have thought this out carefully and it shows.
The property was perfect in every way and we would definitely want to stay again when we visit our daughter. Helen has thought of every amenity.
The pictures on the website were accurate. The property was clean and well maintained. It is was very comfortable. The outside patio was a plus.
The literature provided in anticipation of our arrival was very comprehensive. Nothing omitted.
We would highly recommend this property to other travelers.
Our only suggestion would be a new mattress. Love the king size, but it is very soft and doesn't provide adequate support.
First impressions are always key in life, and the same goes for this rental. We were excited to stay at this little bungalow and were impressed with the space and decor upon arrival. However, upon closer inspection we noticed that it was not necessarily cleaned to par with some gunk on the walls by the bathroom door and near the kitchen trash can, which we cleaned ourselves. Don't get me wrong, the place was really nice! The bed was comfortable and the amenities exactly as expected.
The only other word of caution for those planning to stay here is that if you are planning to use the outdoor space, you may be accompanied by very large fig beetles. The outdoor space was a draw for us, and unfortunately we were unable to use it at all due to the swarms of fig beetles and bees in the garden. There is what looks like a very nice fig tree in the yard, which is what they were coming in for. Not sure if it's a seasonal thing, but lets just say I had to run from the car to the apartment anytime we arrived / left the unit.
That said, I am not sure you can beat the value and location of this guest house!
