Gorgeous 4 bedroom, two bath home on the south shore of Kelleys Island, just a block from the center of town. The huge, old-fashioned front porch looks out over the water to Cedar Point, Sandusky Bay, Marblehead and Lakeside. Choose from the ultra-comfortable deep seating porch furniture or the old-fashioned rockers as the perfect spot for relaxing, morning coffee, reading, napping, people/boat watching and evening drinks.
Picturesque views across the water await you from all three porches, the living room, dining room and three of four bedrooms.
The house is fully equipped with recently updated appliances, including dishwasher, microwave, and coffeemaker, first floor washer/dryer, wifi, satellite TV, and charcoal grill.
Upstairs you'll find three bedrooms (1 queen, 1 full, 1 twins) and 1 full bath (shower stall) off the hall with a second door to the queen bedroom. All include window air conditioners, ceiling fans, dressers and closets/wardrobes. Downstairs you'll find another queen bedroom, dining room, living room, kitchen with extra large center peninsula with stools, walk-in pantry, and the second full bath (tub with curtain). The living room features satellite HD TV, leather couches and an activity table for cards, games or jigsaw puzzles.
Kelleys is the family-friendly island, the largest American island on Lake Erie, within a short 2.5 hour drive of Cleveland, Columbus, Toledo and Detroit. The island is perfect for boating, fishing, bike riding, golf cart riding, hiking and bird watching.
(NOTE: Like most of the century homes for rent on the south shore, our house does not have central air conditioning, but the second floor bedrooms each have window air conditioners for sleeping. The first floor is cooled by cross breezes coming off the lake, mature shade trees in the yard and very tall ceilings with ceiling fans.)

About Zach Zettler
Having met at Miami University, we've been married and have lived in Worthington, Ohio for over 30 years. Our very first vacation together was to Kelleys Island to visit a cousin who was starting a business on the island -- The Kelleys Island Wine Company.
Zach Zettler purchased this House in 2013
Why Zach Zettler chose Kelleys Island
Our family has been vacationing on Kelleys Island for decades. It is an incredibly family-friendly vacation spot with plenty to offer kids of all ages. A trip to Kelleys starts with the ferry ride from Marblehead -- a 20 minute ride that serves to melt-away the stresses of the real world. Once onshore, a feeling of peace and tranquility instantly takes over. Kelleys Island is the perfect spot for family reunions, gatherings of friends, and lasting memories.
What makes this House unique
The first few blocks west of town on Lakeshore Drive have always been our absolute favorite place on Kelleys because of the beautiful old homes, the majestic shade trees, the cool breezes coming across the lake, boats of all kinds sailing by, and the gorgeous views of the mainland, especially at night. We never thought we'd be able to buy a place on this street. While here for a family reunion in 2013, we found ourselves with a unique opportunity to acquire our own little piece of heaven.

Great house! Great Location!
A beautiful view of Lake Erie is the front yard of this home. Spent hours sitting on the large front porch having coffee and cocktails. Located eight houses away from everything in town. Kitchen has everything you need to prepare and serve meals including small appliances, but you are a three minute walk to restaurants if you don't plan on cooking. Suggest you stop at The Village Pump for Brandy Alexander and Walleye Bites. Located within a three minute walk to ferry service to Cedar Point and Put-in-Bay as well. You will want to tour the Island so bring your bikes. Bike and golf cart rental is available in town too! This is NOT a party house so it's kept very clean and comfortable. The bedrooms were a good size, comfortable and all had storage space. Enjoyed the front porch and yard so much that we only used the backyard fire pit once, but it was perfect for s'mores and plenty of chairs provided. Owners are available for questions or concerns during your stay. We have rented this home twice and will continue to rent in the future,
Tim - thanks so much for the review. We look forward to having you and your family as our guests again in coming years.
We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend getaway on Kelley's Island. Zach's home was the "perfect" location. Large front yard leading to beautiful Lake Erie. The weather was perfect, and that, combined with great friends, good food, and plenty leisure time activities, made for a memorable stay. The house came with every single thing you could ever need, which included comfortable beds and bathrooms that were more than adequate. We all had such a great time and the sunsets were magnificent. 🌅
Incredible view from this beautiful home in the perfect location!
From booking to checkout, we could not be more pleased with our stay. We had the best time celebrating our mother's 70th birthday at Zach and Elizabeth's home. The house is gorgeous, clean, and comfortable. It had everything we needed for the week. The front porch ,with the view, was our favorite spot for cocktails and relaxing. The owners are so gracious and helpful and we look forward to staying again.
Best way to kick of summer with the family
The house was beautiful, clean, and close to everything! From the porch we saw Cedar Point and to the west we viewed beautiful sunsets each night. Loved it!
The porch was heaven!
We had such a wonderful visit! The view from the porch was so beautiful & relaxing! The house was very clean and comfortable and perfect for our family. Zach & Elizabeth were so wonderful to work with and having all the little details down to soaps, dishwasher detergent, trash bags, tissues etc all taken care of made the stay even more relaxing!! Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home with our family!!
We're so glad you enjoyed your stay! We'd love to have you back anytime.
WE LOVED IT!!
My family and I stayed at this home this past August and we loved the home! We had three adults, two teenagers, two children and a toddler and we had plenty of room. The pictures do not do this home justice. It is very roomy and the location is perfect. We cooked all our meals in the kitchen. It was a good size kitchen area and very clean with all the amenities we needed. The front porch was great for relaxing and we had our morning coffee there everyday. We had fires at night in the backyard and loved hanging out laughing about our adventures of the day. We had a beautiful family vacation on Kelley's Island. I would highly recommend this house to anyone vacationing at Kelley's!
