What makes this apartment unique

Where else can you view a working marina with an ever changing parade of freighters, barges, fishing fleet, sail boats, kayaks, and a yacht or two? We marvel at the workings of our tug and pilot boats, & the bravery of our Coast Guard at work. From morning to evening a constantly changing horizon can offer sunshine and storms in one day. If we choose, we can simply watch the clouds pass by all from the front window, and that's the truth!

Amazing Place and Great Owners.

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed here this past weekend and it was simply wonderful. The owner was super sweet and helpful, the place was perfect, cozy, well decorated, had everything we could possibly need, it was immaculately clean, great parking and the view was fantastic. Mel was so accommodating to our needs and I would highly recommend staying here. We will definitely be coming back.

Great view, great owners, great base for coast travels!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for three weeks and can't wait to return. As mentioned below by someone else, the owner and her family could not have been nicer. The owner Mel provided the perfect mix of warm welcoming and giving us privacy over the entire three week period.

The apartment itself was roomy, immaculately clean and well-stocked, and has a wonderful marina and ocean view. The owners thoughtfully provided some breakfast goodies and local sweets for us to enjoy when we arrived. She also provided up-to-date local and other sightseeing information, as well as very interesting historical information on the area.

It truly felt like our home away from home for the three weeks we were there, thanks to Mel the owner! We can't wait to return to the Oregon Coast and, when we do, we won't even bother looking for any other place to stay.

Owner's Response: We appreciate the kind words our guests have offered. It is always our pleasure to greet great visitors, to help them feel at home and to enjoy the diversified adventures of Charleston, Oregon. You may arrive as strangers but after sharing mutual experiences and recipes (of course) we feel you leave us as friends. We hope to see you again. mel, Sharon, Jeff Campbell

Great place to stay in southern Oregon

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I stayed here for seven days and seven nights and had a great time. The owner and her family could not have been nicer. They made us feel like part of their family but gave us the privacy we were looking for.

The apartment was comfortable, clean and had everything we needed. They even stocked some goodies in the refrigerator for us. There is beach access, except at high tide, via a long set of stairs.

The salmon were running while we were there and I was able to do a bit of fishing just 5 minutes away off one of the jetties.

The people in the Coos Bay area were friendly and hospitable. There are lots of state and national parks in the area. The coastline in that part of Oregon is the most beautiful in the country in my view.

Could not have been better

  • 5 of 5

What a great place and great folks. Mel is a real kick, everyone in town knows and loves her. And her son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Sharon, were also wonderful folks. I needed to clean out my rig after having done a lot of off-roading, Jeff set up his compressor for me so I could blow out the dust, and let me wash off the rig.

I would certainly return to this place! Mark and Elise, Olympia, WA

What a great little apartment. We loved the view, the good bed, the well-stocked kitchen, and the charming touches throughout. Plus, the hostess knows how to take care of you. We loved it and hope to return.
