Paphos and the surrounding area.: Paphos has established itself as the premier resort on the south coast of Cyprus. Thus the local area can provide a full range of holiday experiences from the sedentary to activity packed. Restaurants are varied and reasonably priced. There are plenty of opportunities for shopping both in the tourist area and the old town and market. It is possible to walk to either. The sea front and the lovely harbour are all in walking distance as well. Historical sites abound both in and around Paphos including the Tomb of the Kings World Heritage Site and Paphos Mosiacs.
How to get there: Paphos airport is the recommended option. Paphos airport is small and friendly. Transfer through passport control and customs is usually quick and hassle free. There are always taxis available at the airport or we can arrange airport pick up.
Most charter airlines run at least one flight to Cyprus on Wednesdays from May to October. Wednesday is definitely UK arrival day at Paphos and Larnaca. Sunday is the other popular day but you can get both charter and scheduled flights most days from most regions.
Car Hire : If you do not wish to hire a car it is not 100% necessary as there is a good bus service and local coach excursions. However if you do you will be able to explore the area further. A visit to Coral Bay is a must and a drive through the banana plantations along the coast from Coral Bay to the Sea Caves is lovely. As you drive along you often catch site of lizards and snakes. Further a field is the Akamas Peninsular National Park and the Trudos Mountains. The whole of the south is very beautiful and the perfume of the orange blossom has to be experienced to be believed.
Please if you do decide to hire a car do not forget to take your driving licence
We did enjoy your house, all the comforts from home! We did bus excursions, rented a bike for a few days, and had a good mix of relaxing and being out and about.
The ceiling fans are a blessing and really good especially at night. Mostly used the a/c to boost before bed time
Just completed the most tranquil enjoyable holiday. The property was very good, clean and well maintained and, with about 10 feet to go to the peaceful poolside area, just fantastic.
Fantastic villa with everything we could possibly need. welcome pack was great as it meant we arrived , changed into swim suits and went straight into the gloriously warm pool without the panic of having to shop for essentials . I have never spent so much time in a swimming pool as I did this holiday and most times we had it to ourselves . Everyone in the surrounding villas was lovely / lots of them live there and were so friendly giving us advice on where to go and one family taking us into the mountains for a glorious Lunch at the last castle restaurant ! Fantastic from start to finish / thank you for sharing your wonderful villa with us X
Excellent villa, exceptionally clean and tidy, beautiful clean pool which I had all to myself on several occasions!
We arrived late at night, so asked for a taxi to be arranged who kindly stopped at a minimart on way to villa to get essentials, but needn't have as there was a generous welcome pack of all we required for breakfast etc. There were even toiletries in case we had forgotten anything, we hadn't but thank you anyway.
The free wifi was a Godsend as we had to have daily contact with my Son who was getting married out there (beautiful it was too).
The only problem we had (or should say my Husband had) was the only program we could get on the TV was Euronews as we struggled to get anything on smart TV, didn't have a clue even after following the instructions, still we didn't go there to watch TV.
There is everything you will need in the villa and cannot fault anything.
Its a good walk to the harbour which we did most evenings, but always got a taxi back, Stevies taxi's never let us down and knew exactly where to go, very polite, honest and reliable.
We had a wonderful holiday although rather hot and would highly recommend this property.
Thanks to Jill and Bill for letting us stay.
This was a return visit to this property. The property has everything you could ask for, is lovely and clean and has a welcoming pack of food on arrival which means you can get straight out in the sun. There was never a lack of sun beds or shades in fact at times we were the only ones around the pool! At night there was no noise and comforting to know security walk around the resorts.... Not that there is any problems it is just part of the complex. It is about a 15 minute walk down to the harbour where there are plenty of restaurants and bars to choose from. A short walk either way or bus for 1.5 euro each way and from the harbour to the airport...that's what I call a bargain! We will definitely be returning again
We had a lovely stay at Jill's Town House. Everything was as discibed in discription, and we were more than happy with the accommadation. We arranged with Gerry to have us picked up and taken to the accommadation on arrival, a welcome pack was supplied on arrival also ( milk, bread, eggs ect). Pool was clean but alittle chilly, but cant expect anymore for end of october and complex was well looked after, but weather was lovely at 25/26 c. There was 2 mini markets just afew minutes walk away, and car hire 5 mins walk, but a good 20mins walk to harbour. We hired a car, but no really needed of you dont mind a walk, we had young children, so we needed one. We reccommend this Townhouse if you want a nice peaceful break.
We have had an absolutely great holiday In Paphos .The villa was everything we could of wished for and more .The location was just perfect .
Really nice quite area ,and all the other villa users are so nice ad friendly .The booking from the start was just great and the communication was good ,then in Paphos there is a couple who look after things if you need them ,however we did not as everything with the villa is well maintained and feels like home from home .I would recommend this villa to anyone ,and will be planning a visit back hopefully at some point next year .Thank you Jill and Bill you truly have a lovely villa in a great place in Paphos which is just perfect.
The property is situated in the Universal area of Kato Paphos. It is a quite residential area that is close to all tourist areas but far enough away for noise not to be a nuisance. Supermarkets, restaurants, bars, tavernas and a great local bakery are all within walking distance. As is the Harbour, sea front and beach. Check out the pavement cafes around the old fishing harbour and watch the world go by. Enjoy lunch or dinner at a restaurant or bistro overlooking the blue Mediterranean sea. Walk along the promenade or enjoy the local beaches and watersports. A hire car will give guests easy access to surrounding areas and attractions such as Aprhodites Birthplace, The Troodos Mountains, the Akamas Peninsular, Polis and Latchi plus much much more. For those interested in history there are many archaelogical sites such as the old fort and the mosiacs a similar distance away.
Taxis are abundant. every where and there are also very good local bus services.
