Please come and enjoy our beautiful 3 BR/2BA 1865 Sq ft home located in the quaint fishing village of Matlacha. Matlacha is located in SW Florida, just east of Pine Island. The area affords the water enthusiast endless opportunities. The town has many art galleries and unique shops, many of which have the work of local artists. There are also restaurants and bars with daily live music. The home is located just 30 minutes from Fort Myers International Airport and only a few minutes from a modern grocery store, chain restaurants and shopping.
Whether fishing, boating or kayaking, Matlacha is a paradise. Either Fort Myers or Sanibel beach can be reached by car in about 40 minutes. If you have a boat, Cayo Costa and Sanibel are about 40 minutes away. Matlacha Pass has some of the best inshore fishing in SW Florida. The home has a boat lift which is available upon request. (We presently have our own boat on the lift)
We presently live in the North but have very helpful property managers only a few doors away. Check-in time is 3 PM on day of arrival and check-out time is 10 AM on day of departure. There may be some flexibility depending on the schedule.
My wife and I purchased the home after falling in love with the area some nine years ago. We loved the low-key nature of the town and the endless fishing and boating opportunities right from your very own home. Matlacha is a place where you feel like you went back in time yet all modern amenities are only a few minutes away.
Paul and Petra Schultz purchased this house in 2013
There is no need to deal with the hassles of the boat ramp. There are even multiple restaurants accessible by boat in only a few minutes. You pass by a bait shop on your way to the fishing grounds.
Enjoy the outdoor living space after your time on the water. Sit in the large lanai or around the fire pit if you want to tell camp stories. You can cook your catch on the outdoor grill while someone else prepares the salad in the well-appointed kitchen.
This "home" has everything you need for your stay except your food. We have rented other properties before and when we wanted to cook had to purchase bare essentials! Or if you don’t feel like cooking this home is close to Matlacha where there are a good number of restaurants to choose from.
The way the rooms are set up it works very nicely for couples or families with children. We mostly lived in the large lanai area!
The home is on a wide canal and you get a good glimpse of sunsets. You can watch Manatee go up the canal every morning and back to sea at night.
There are bikes, beach towels, sand chairs, two fishing poles, grill and a cooler for use!
We loved it and did not want to leave, it truly felt like home!
We spend one week at this beautiful home and were sad to leave!
The house was roomy, comfortable, very clean and well maintained.
The lanai is great to enjoy the wonderful evenings with sunset.
The kitchen has everything you can think of. The beds are very comfy and the linens are high class and lots of towels!
Pictures on the VRBO web are good, but the real thing is so much better.
I would highly recommend the Fishermens Paredise to anyone looking for a comfortable say.
We will definitely be back!
we enjoyed our stay at this residence in Matlache for February and most of March. The house is very accommodating, beds are comfortable, kitchen is fully stocked, nice bar area, and loved having use of the garage to put golf clubs, kayaks and bikes. We rode every day, best path is out Old Burnt Store Road where you can go for almost 10 miles with very little traffic. Peaceful little canal that we enjoyed sitting outside and watching fish boils, a little boat traffic and just enjoying the sunshine and warmth away from freezing NJ! Food choices in Matlacha are OK, Island Café has a great breakfast and there's a fish store across from Berts that has a grouper sandwich to die for. Great Licks ice cream is also delicious. Our favorite place for lunch was the Olde Fish House, nice cold beers and good food. Fishing wasn't great, locals said it was because of the cold winter. For a getaway from the north, it couldn't be more peaceful. Loved biking every day to Publix to get just what I needed for the day's meals.
This is the perfect house for two couples to share a house for a get away near the subtropic village of Matlacha. We were surprised that it was even more beautiful than pictured on the website. Things we appreciated: the quiet neighborhood, lots of storage, beautiful linens, two living rooms (one for watching the enormous television, the other for reading and conversation, two lovely dining areas (one inside, the other on the screened in porch), the garage for storing our bicycles and boat trailer, The porch, patio, and boat dock with a lift, the kitchen with, pretty dishes and every appliance you might need, a full laundry and a very helpful agent, to answer all questions. We spent most of our December/ January stay on the porch. My favorite views were from there: early morning canal reflecting the colorful boats and houses houses....and the golden threaded peach/pink sunsets viewed through tall palms. It is a very good place to relax.
This house had it all. Felt like a home. Fully equipped, nicely furnished, extremely comfortable and in excellent condition. Very nicely cleaned I might add....which is often not the case. Location is terrific...a couple of minutes to a grocery, pharmacy, fast food, and some nice local restaurants if you go inland and the same only more so if you head to Matlacha and Pine Island. Great dock and easy access to the canals. I bike so Old Burnt Store road was literally around the corner for nice rides without cards! Landlord was easy to work with. Inside is quiet beyond belief. You do hear some traffic from the outside but that was the only negative and hundreds of other houses are right there too so it is only a quibble. I loved this place and would go back in a Vermonty winter minute.
My wife and I enjoyed our stay very much at this perfectly laid out home -very comfortable
and on the water facing west--We are from up North so we enjoyed the fires in the enclosed fire pit almost every night--I caught Mangrove snappers off the dock--Paul was very easy to deal with and Karen his property Manager was awesome--We will definitely rent here again and Pine Island is a Fantastic place to explore with so much to do / /
