The home has four bedrooms and four and a half bathrooms, plus an outdoor heated shower. The home and the interior design is impeccable. The home is designed to maximize indoor-outdoor living, with a chef's kitchen, outdoor grill and entertaining area and indoor dining room with sweeping views.
We spared no details with the recent renovation and the home is luxurious, sleek and modern. This is your opportunity to stay on an operational vineyard among Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes in the heart of Sonoma wine country. We've received accolades about the design, have been featured on CNN travel and real estate shows, as well as an upcoming episode of "Beautiful Escapes" by a French television series. The home is resort-like in furnishings and comfort, with high end bedding, towels and furnishings.
NOTE about bookings: We require a 4 night minimum stay for weekend stays beginning November through May, except that: (i) there is a 5 night minimum for stays from June through October; and (ii) there is a 7 night minimum for major holidays, including the week of Christmas, New Years, Thanksgiving, Memorial Day, the 4th of July and Labor Day. The holiday weeks described above will have a 7 night discounted rate of $8,000 (+ tax, cleaning and security). Two night mid-week stays are possible from January - March 15th on short notice and for visits less than one week in advance (short notice).
The property is along a notable biking and sightseeing route and is about 4 miles to the Sonoma square. It is located in the midst of Carneros AVA wine region. We are in the process of obtaining a winery license and our artisan crafted Chardonnay, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon wines are produced nearby in Napa. Gundlach Bundschu, Scribe, Nicholson Ranch and other notable wineries are less than 2 miles away. Guests also like the proximity to Napa, which is about 15 minutes away.
The house has four bedrooms and 4 ½ modern remodeled baths, as well as a separate outdoor heated shower. The large, modern well-appointed chef’s kitchen is center stage downstairs along with a dining room table that comfortably seats 12.
A 50 x 15 solar-heated saltwater pool and spa with outdoor night lighting graces the outdoor view.
There are two separate living rooms, including a media room with a large flat screen smart TV.
The home is more than 3400+ feet on two levels but feels like a larger mansion because of its vaulted ceilings and views. There is an upstairs and downstairs master bedroom, both of which have generous, en suite bathrooms. There are two additional bedrooms (one with queen bed and the other with two twin beds that can be made into a king bed, if pre-arranged) and two separate full bathrooms.
A modern, clean aesthetic was our goal in renovating the property. The house has abundant light with large sweeping doors and windows. There are a number of notable design features, including wood floors made from reclaimed Eucalyptus trees from the Presidio in San Francisco and dining room tables made from 1920s reclaimed cedar from the Cal Berkeley stadium. We have the first permitted gray water irrigation system in Sonoma valley and we are in the planning stages of a new vineyard planting of Chardonnay grapes. We provide ecologically friendly soap, shampoo and conditioners in the bathrooms, as well as hair dryers.
The farmhouse is available for small groups of up to 10 guests who wish to enjoy the wine country in a more intimate setting than the Carneros Inn or other high-end resort. The grounds are spacious. Sorry, we can not permit weddings, parties or other types of events at the home.
I'm a San Francisco tech lawyer who always wanted a vineyard retreat in wine country. I've transformed the farmhouse to an architectural gem and have revitalized the vineyard from its conventionally-farmed past to organic. I'm launching a wine label called Coplan Vineyards that will debut in the beginning of 2017 with a release of a limited production of artisan crafted Chardonnay, Rose', Merlot, Trouseau Gris and Cabernet Sauvignon. We also produce very limited quantities of olive oil from the property's olive trees.

The property is in a perfect wine country location. We are located amidst world class wineries on the East side of the city of Sonoma. We're also proximately located to Napa in the Carneros wine AVA. It can take as little as 35 minutes to get here from the Golden Gate bridge and the property is a short drive to fabulous wineries and restaurants. The views of the hills and vines are breathtaking and the architecture is very open and designed to enjoy the views. Horses from the neighboring ranch can frequently be seen on the hill in the distance and the sunsets are spectacular. The area is rural and eclectic and has a wonderfully relaxed wine country aesthetic. You will love the sweeping views from on the back of the property from the pool to the vineyards. The front bedrooms also have fabulous vineyard views.
Guests can enjoy wonderful meals on the large handmade cedar plank dining table and the kitchen is exceptionally chef-friendly with Thermador appliances. Though you'll be situated in an ideal location for wine tasting and site seeing, you'll likely find the property so appealing that you may want to spend much of your time here.
Winery location, location! This property has a resort feel. The home is resort-like in its comfort and features, and you will have the privacy that a private home affords. There are two fireplaces for use during the winter months. Solar heated pool and heated jacuzzi. Exceptional sound system.
The design is modern and clean and there are a number of notable features. The Eucalyptus wood floors were made from reclaimed trees from San Francisco's Presidio. The dining room tables are made from 1920's cedar from Cal Berkeley's former stadium. Glass light pendants are handmade by the home's owner. The home has the first certified gray water irrigation system in Sonoma valley and is solar powered.
Our family of 6 absolutely loved Carole's vineyard and home. We were comparing it to Carneros Inn and several other homes in the same price range and are so glad we settled on her place. It is meticulously kept, clean, updated, stocked, private, and luxurious. The master bath has heated floors and steam shower. The full house sound system plays Pandora in full stereo surround sound. The pool is sparkling and hot tub hot. The in-line gas grill made terrific burgers. Sonoma market and whole foods are nearby with every conceivable grocery item and local veggies/meats - a food lover's paradise. Picked up some great wines and enjoyed them on the back porch while the kids splashed and played in the pool - priceless! The views are absolutely amazing, we have a bunch of incredible pictures to blow up until we make it back again. Thank you Carole, your home is top notch 5 stars.
We used Carols vineyard retreat over the 2016 Christmas and New Years Holidays as a Bay Area meeting spot for our family to get together. It's a perfect place to relax, entertain, and enjoy what the wine country has to offer. We will be back!
We were 4 retired couples renting this "4" bedroom house for a week in wine country. Two of the bedrooms had on suite bathrooms. The third bedroom had a bathroom right outside their door. The major issue was the 4th "bedroom". Instead of a solid wall with a door that closed, it was a 3 panel rolling 'barn door' wall. The result was no privacy when entering or exiting the room, echoing sound when anyone was downstairs due to the vaulted open ceiling over the kitchen, dining and common areas. In addition there was no attached bathroom therefore we either had to share a bathroom with another couple upstairs or go downstairs (through the kitchen/dining/common area) to a bathroom with a shower. It was a very inconvenient arrangement. On the upside there were gardens of vegetables that the homeowner encouraged us to enjoy. I would recommend renting this home if you need 3 bedrooms not 4.
It is rare that a place exceeds expectations...but in this case this beautiful home was ideal in every way we hoped for:
1. Location - perfectly situated close to Sonoma Square but far enough away to feel intimate. TONS of wineries, restaurants and destinations a very near by.
2. Setting - Paradise. If you are looking for quiet solitude in the middle of a vineyard with sunrises and sunsets galore...this is the spot.
3. Amenities - From the heated pool and hot tub to all the kitchen equipment / materials you could ever need. We never felt in need of anything.

We were three couples on a Sonoma holiday. The house was perfect and the grounds lovely. Extremely comfortable bedrooms,ultra modern bathrooms and a fully equipped kitchen. The
house was bright and airy with sunlight pouring thru. Carole was very responsive to any questions. We toured Sonoma wineries during the day and came home to our beautiful rental to relax and enjoy home cooked dinners.Exceptional property. Will definitely return.
Our weeklong stay at this estate had all the makings of a high-end boutique hotel. From the open-concept sun-filled great room and kitchen to the luxurious amenities and natural surroundings, our family of four felt relaxed and pampered. A bottle of the vineyard's wine sat waiting for us on the dining table. Pool towels are beautifully placed in a basket near the patio door. All bathrooms are supplied with vineyard-branded hand soap as well as sumptuous bath towels, body wash, shampoo, and conditioner. The home is well looked after as nothing is worn, everything looks fresh. It was a delight to cook in the kitchen as well as the outdoor BBQ grill. Outside, the saltwater pool was well used by all of us. With temperatures hitting the 90s, we also really appreciated the large shaded lounge area as most of our time was spent outdoors. And if you love bocce ball like us, you'll enjoy playing on the court that overlooks the vineyard. As for location, you're about ten minutes from the Sonoma town center (Farmers Market on Fridays at 9am), about 20 minutes from Yountville for a tasty dinner (or a Bouchon Bakery breakfast) and about 30 minutes from the trendy Barlow in Sebastopol. We'd love to find time to stay here again!
