About Stacy Eldred

Nature's Sanctuary is our favorite family get away. The second we get on the road to head to the cabin, our whole family relaxes. It is a stress free getaway, an environment all family's should experience A place where we share our closest moments and family time. We sit around the fire, talk, tell stories, take our dogs for long walks, and hikes. Play games on the front porch for hours. Read books, listen to music, play horseshoes and Cornhole. The cell phone service is sketchy, so nothing to do but talk and enjoy one another. Then at night we settle down on the couches in front of the fireplace and watch a movie. Perfect day!!!! Days all of us cherish.

Just Ok

  • 2 of 5

Just ok for a quick get away but is in need of some serious upgrades. No privacy at all, can see through curtains in downstairs bedroom as well as the upstairs bedroom. Can only pee in the downstairs bathroom. Tacky paper sign that says you will be charged if toilet clogs is on the wall in the bathroom. The third bedroom is two twin beds in a open room connected to the living room.

Pool sticks are all children's size, fooseball table kept breaking (handles coming lose, screws coming out of the little guys.) No scoreboard with dart set. The house has no hot tub but does have a jacuzzi tub in the upstairs bath

Fred the security guy is overbearing. I does clearly say in the contract that he is allowed on and in the premises if he feels something sketchy is going on. We had a friends come visit us for the day and he stopped for a 3rd time to see why we had another car in the driveway for the day and he was going to have to report it to the owner.

Not all about this cabin is negative. The bar was amazing and the view from the back porch was also awesome. The kitchen was fully stocked with any equipment we needed for every meal.

We are not high maintenance people, we just feel like you're supposed to feel at home when renting a cabin for the weekend and we honestly didn't even feel like welcomed guest. With some money put into the property it could be top notch but just enough is done to get by with renting it out.

Owner's Response: Dear James, I am so sorry that is your perception of our beautiful cabin. As you can read that is not the way 90 percent of our guests feel. Most of our renters absolutely love the openness and and family oriented environment. The pictures show the twin beds in the open setting and the description tells you it is open. This room is Designed for children. Never has anyone mentioned the curtains in the downstairs bedroom. The sign in the bathroom was put there because children sometimes don't use the bathroom properly. It is not restricted to just urinating. However, It is encouraged that extras not be flushed. As for the football table. That is good to know. As you are aware when you receive the directions and the contract, we ask you to please let us know what we can do better for our future guests. Thank you for contacting us to let us know your recommendations. As we do not live in the area anymore and are very conscientious of the opportunities to improve our home. Also our security man is there to protect you as well as our property. You probably should have been honest about your guest count and there wouldn't have been a visit from him at all. Never. Not one time has anyone spoken of our place like you. Good luck in your future travels.

Beautiful property, comfortable cozy cabin which is located in a secluded location.

Would stay again. Sitting by firepit was my favorite and watching several deer off the front porch. Only negative, fireplace in livingroom did not draw well so we just moved to the ouside firepit.

Well kept and scenic with all of the amenities of home

  • 4 of 5

The property was amazing! The homey and welcoming feel of the cabin was only made better by the zen like view from the back upper deck. Bored games, books, movies and a wicker trunk full of blankets left one feeling they were at grandma's house but the bar down stairs reminds you you're on vacation. All the dishes and kitchen gadgets you could need (and many you don't) were already available as well as towels and grill accessories, though you should bring your own charcoal and lighter fluid (however, we left ours for the next blokes). Some of the lights didn't work but it didn't matter to us. If you are going to use all of the sleeping accommodations keep in mind that there is only one shower so you will need to coordinate. The property owner was also amazing, friendly and quick to respond to any questions. Not only would I recommend this cabin to other people, but our group plans on booking again next year.

Just Ok

  • 2 of 5

The description on this cabin says that there is a loft, not true, NO loft. This is a 2 story cabin, when you walk in the front door you have the kitchen, living room on the right and to the left is the "loft" and master bedroom with the bathroom straight ahead. Downstairs is the game area, we did not use this area at all because of the bug issue and we didn't sleep in the bed that was down there either. The bed was not clean and we were afraid of getting bugs on us while we slept. There is no privacy at all and cleanliness of the cabin was so so, Didn't care too much for the Ouija board and drawings either. Overall, this cabin was ok to stay in for a couple days just not for an extended period of time. This cabin needs a little more TLC inside and out. The owners were very responsive if you needed them, they were great. One last thing....If you need anything from groceries to supplies get them before you arrive, The closest store is at least 10 miles away. I would not recommend this cabin to my family or friends

Owner's Response: Dear Renters., I am sorry that you didn't feel your experience was good. As for your issues I know for a fact that what you are saying is not true. Our cleaners are very thorough. . They change ALL of the bedding every time we have new guests arrive. That means they change the pillows, sheets and bed spreads. The pictures don't show a loft and the descriptions says it is a 2 story. As for the cleanliness of the home. I was personally there 3 weeks ago and scrubbed the place top to bottom. Bought new pans and kitchen ware. I am an an incredibly conscientious host as are the people who work for me. To address the BUGS. There are bugs in the woods. And they do sometimes get in the house. We spray monthly! My suggestion to you is a trip to the Holiday Inn where the precious affects of the great outdoors don't ruin your trip. Sincerely, The Owners

We stayed there for a weekend in June. We all enjoyed it very much. Saw deer off the balcony. Nice and private. Will definitely stay again.

awesome cabin

  • 5 of 5

This was a great place to stay and I can't wait to go back and visit again. Typically when we visit the gorge we camp but decided to try renting a cabin this time. It was well worth it especially for the price. The cabin is very spacious has beautiful surroundings overlooking a pond and trees. The owners were wonderful to work with. They responded quickly and were readily available by phone if we needed anything. The only thing that was somewhat of a down side was the 3rd bedroom where the twin beds were was completely open to the living room and kitchen. I think if you have small kids this could work out great but wasn't the best option for 5 adults. There were also some toys and games that could keep children entertained. In addition the master bedroom which is on the same floor as the twin beds is open at the top of the wall, which was not ideal for someone snoring in the master and sleeping in the twin beds. Luckily the bedroom down stairs was closed off and the pull out bed in the lower living room had a nice mattress topper to place on the bed. Sleeping on the pull out down stairs was a much more secluded option. Also it was a little chilly when we stayed there and the basement was rather cold but there were plenty of blankets. We used one of the space heaters but the cord felt hot when plugged in and there did not appear to be any other space heater as listed in the description. Overall this was a wonderful place to stay and everyone was impressed with how nice, clean, and beautiful it was. We are looking to book a trip again at this cabin very soon. We loved it! Also want to say thank you to the owners for allowing us to stay in there cabin!
