The best place ever to get away from it all! Even woke up every morning at 5a.m. To watch the sunrise. It's well worth it!
I cannot adequately describe the delight we had with our three night rental of Moose Tracks cabin. Everything exceeded our expectation. First is the view - it was a stunning welcome as we first drove into the cabin parking area. We spent all our days and most of our nights outside on the deck soaking in the cool(er) mountain breeze and the spectacular view of the river, dam, railroad and that panorama of the Cumberland Plateau. The cabin was sparkling clean. Having in-cabin washer/dryer was a plus. The kitchen was well equipped. The outside private deck/swing/fire-pit and grill was a great place to watch sunsets as we grilled our main course each evening. Moose Tracks has a half-bath in the upstairs bedroom which was very convenient our guests sleeping upstairs. For groceries I recommend driving toward Bryant, AL and shopping at Dobbins Grocery Store, only a few miles to the south. Ask for Joey...you will be guided around the store like you are one of their family. Property owners Kenny and Cindy were a delight to talk with and responded to our minor suggestions within a matter of hours our first day there. In summary - this property is jewel if you are looking for a mountain get-away. Another attribute is that the cabin is only a 25-min. drive from downtown Chattanooga. If you go into the city and want a really fine lunch or dinner try the Public House downtown. You will find all the tourist attractions there within easy reach - Lookout Mtn. NP, Ruby Falls, Rock City, Incline Railway, Choo-Choo, Tennessee Aquarium, etc. Also the Tennessee River is right at your doorstep (actually about 1,000 ft. below it) offering water-sports and fishing from boat launch facilities nearby. We will come back!
Our stay was absolutely relaxing and the perfect place to get away from everything. The view is absolutely amazing. It is a beautiful drive to Chattanooga and Rock City. I would definitely recommend to friends and family for a nice relaxing place to stay. We will definitely be back. Thank you so much for the hospitality.

Beautiful cabin with the most amazing View. We will recommend it to our family and friends. We would love to come back one day.
We stayed for a weekend and wished that we could have stayed longer! The cabin was very clean, cozy and well-appointed; we found everything we needed in the kitchen to cook several meals. However, be aware that the owners do not provide soap/shampoo or more than 2 rolls of TP. The views were incredible! We enjoyed the hot tub and the two decks very much! The lower deck is great for catching some sun and a nice breeze, while the upper deck is very secluded and really is like an outside bedroom. We hope to go back sometime and perhaps bring friends!
One warning: we arrived late the first night and were startled to be greeted by a large, enthusiastic dog. He ended up being friendly, but he did jump on us quite a bit and ran off with my shoes, sweatshirt, and towel while we were in the hot tub. I never saw him again after the first night, so I'm not sure whether he belongs to the owners or was just visiting (seems unlikely since the owners are adamant about not allowing pets). If you should meet this dog during your stay, my advice is don't panic--he's friendly--and don't leave any of your possessions sitting around!
This was a great weekend stay for us. We were in town to take the kids to the Aquarium and the Thomas the Train Event at Tennessee Valley Railroad. The cabin and the grounds are in impeccable condition and the view is quite stunning, especially in the morning when the clouds hover over Lake Nickajack. It is located conveniently from Chattanooga (30min drive) and not far off I-24, but far enough out that you feel like you're away from it all. 3 viewing decks including a hot tub on ground level, dining deck on the main floor, and a very cozy upper deck with chaisse lounge that you could honestly sleep on, on the upper deck. Despite being in close proximity to about 8-10 other cabins on the same property, they are positioned with privacy from each other so you don't feel like you are stacked on top of your neighbors. The fire pit and picnic table and porch swing were nice touches and the community gazebo with a scenic overlook were great perks as well. There is plenty of firewood so you don't have to bring your own. Unfortunately we couldn't say the same for the kitchen pantry... while they do have all the basics - coffee maker with filters, Toaster, and enough plates, glasses, cookware, utensils to get the job done, there were absolutely no pantry items to speak of... not even salt and pepper or sweeteners! you literally have to bring every single thing you want from the kitchen at home or stop at a grocery store. Understandably these are fairly new cabins that aren't occupied by regular tenants, so a lot of the comforts of home that you'll find in a well-lived-in vacation home are missing here. There is also no dishwasher so prepare to wash by hand! Those were our only disappointments, though. One more thing to consider, if you have small children (we have a 2 and 6 year old), it is a safe property but keep an eye on the little ones as the cabin is located high up on a ridge with a steep cliff at the edge of the property. One other tip - if you are commuting to Chattanooga for events or activities, you should note this cabin is in Central Time, while Chattanooga is in Eastern time, so plan to lose an hour going into the city and gain it back on your return trip to the cabin each night. All things considered, we were really impressed with the property and communication from the owner. We will certainly be back for another visit in the future!
