|Minimum Stay||2 nights|
Bring the pooch and rock on the front porch of this quaint, fully fenced, Historic home which has been totally remodeled. Plenty of room for 2 couples traveling together. History with all the modern conveniences! Pamper yourself and stay in our French Country decorated home with Egyptian cotton sheets and your choice of a memory foam or pillow top mattress. We chose to purchase in this area because it is only a few blocks from restaurants, parks, fishing, canoeing, shopping and a farmers market. It is only 3 blocks from the Withlacoochee State Trail, which is the longest bicycle/walking trail in the State. Your pooch will love the 46 mile paved trail where you can walk along lakes, wildlife areas and farms. Use one of the many provided bicycles or bring your own and store it in the detached garage! Lake Henderson is just across the street with access to launch the provided canoes. Only 5 minutes away you will find three beautiful parks including Whispering Pines, where you can enjoy tennis courts, racket ball courts, and picnic areas. They also have a beautiful pool and miles of walking trails. The cabin is very close to downtown Inverness, where you will find a museum in the Historic Courthouse where Elvis made a movie in the 1950's. Inverness is full of 'Small Town Charm'.
Don't forget, November through March, hundreds of Manatees come into the springs where you can actually snorkel with them ! July through Sept is Scallop season. Boat and wave-runner rentals are not far away. There is always something going on so come join the fun! If this cabin is unavailable for the dates you need, I have others that may be.
We recently purchased and renovated this Historic home in Inverness because we love the small town atmosphere. Citrus County is a wonderful area with lots of water sports, wildlife and plenty to do!
The cabin is located in an ideal part of Florida! Why fight the traffic and crowds in Orlando when you can stay in a beautiful, quiet town and take a day trips? We are just over an hour from Tampa and Orlando. Daytona Beach is 2 hours away and St Pete Beach is 1 ½ hours away. Just South of Inverness is Floral City where they have a beautiful art gallery and Café. (The Florida Artists Gallery) There is a great little museum in town as well as the best strawberry milkshakes you've ever had at Ferris Farms! Also South of Inverness, every Thursday night, Dudley's Auction has the most fun and best prices on everyday items, collectibles and antiques! Just going is entertainment in itself! So come stay in our beautiful cabin where you are never far from having lots to do!
It was a pleasure sharing your home for our vacation. It was an amazing experience. The house was beautiful and the environment was divine! Thank you very much for the awesome experience.
We have happily rented this house for the past 2 years when we come to Inverness to visit my father in law. We are even booked for our 3rd stay next year! The house is always clean, very well stocked with everything needed for our stay and then some. It is conveniently located within walking distance to the downtown area as well as the bike trail. The owner is great to deal with and very accommodating.
We absolutely loved this cute home! We enjoyed wine on the front porch at night, the close proximity to the square, the amazingly comfy beds, and cute decor. If we ever return to Inverness, I would definitely rent this home again.
This was our first visit and will not be our last! Between the hiking trails, ponds, lakes and the various springs, we were never bored. The house is immaculate, fully stocked and well positioned for any of the area attractions and restaurants, yet is very quiet and serene. The owner could not have been more attentive. She met us on arrival and was easily reached for any questions we had about the area. Definitely a "10" in our eyes!
This was our second visit here and it felt like coming home! The owners have really outdone themselves, making sure that all the comforts are here, from extra bedding and pillows, to blowdryer, and all the kitchen appliances and gadgets you could possibly need. Cable TV and wifi both work great! I also love that there is an indoor laundry!
The weather was perfect and we had several nice walks through the beautiful neighborhood and into downtown Inverness. It was reallly pretty to see all the Christmas decorations as we walked at night.
Hopefully, we will be retiring to this area one of these days. In the meantime, this will be our home away from home as often as we can.
Perfect location, we could walk into town from the rental to eat if we wanted to - very, very clean and the beds were so comfortable. Great for cycling and nature. We came a long way, from Europe no less - and it was an absolute pleasure to sit back and relax in a lovely location.
We just returned from a week here, and it was so relaxing! I don't even know where to start.
First, about the hosts. They are ever so gracious and helpful. Communication and follow-up are excellent. We received an email a day or so before arrival to discuss check-in procedures. We had a late flight and so didn't get to the house until nearly 11 pm our first night, but there were fresh flowers and a beautiful note awaiting us on arrival. There was a notebook provided with all kinds of useful information about the house and the area, and the kitchen drawer contained plenty of brochures and flyers about activities in the local area. Diane called the next morning to make sure we had everything we needed and to make sure we knew she was just a phone call away.
Now the property ... This home is very spacious! It is not a little cabin where you run into each other as you move about the house. And for all you clean freaks out there, you will be in heaven because the place is immaculate and beautifully furnished. The beds were wonderful, and the shower is to die for ... huge! Lots of bath linens and extra bedding, even a blow dryer - which is often not included in privately rented vacation homes. Cable TV and Wi-Fi both worked great!
The kitchen was stocked with dishes, cookware and appliances and still had plenty of room for my groceries. The refrigerator? Did I already say how clean this place is? Wish my fridge at home looked like this.
The location is a very short walk to the lake, the downtown area and the beautiful bike trail. Just up the road were two groceries - Publix and Winn-Dixie - as well as a CVS that stays open 24 hrs, which was great as we arrived late and I wanted to lay in some groceries for breakfast. Several good restaurants and bars within walking distance as well.
We didn't bring our pups with us on this trip, but the yard is completely fenced and they would have loved it.
I just wish we could have stayed longer, but we will be back. In fact, I am already looking at the calendar to plan our return.
Inverness is in the best area of Florida. Centrally located, you can take a short drive to see beaches or theme parks, yet you can enjoy staying in a small town where you don't have to rush around. We have antique shops, great restaurants, a speedway, golf, fishing, boating and the most beautiful clear springs to snorkel or kayak. Fort Island Beach is about 30 minutes away as is snorkeling, jet skiing and kayak rentals. Not too far away is a wonderful Wildlife park where you can see many animals in their natural habitat. So come stay in Citrus County, the ‘Water Lovers Paradise’!
