Located just 6 miles from The Dreams Park and 6 miles from the village of Cooperstown, as well as the Baseball Hall of Fame, Sunset Ridge is one of the area's finest luxury vacation homes. Privately located on more than 50 acres of spectacular land, this 5 bedroom home is perfect for a group vacation. The rental home offers large bedrooms and even larger common spaces such as the expansive great room and gourmet kitchen. And outside, the options for fun are numerous; hike the trails through the federally protected wetlands, past the duck ponds and over the trout stream, up into the surrounding wooded mountains. Wildlife is plentiful and varied including deer, porcupines, and a wide variety of birds including our favorite, the Bald Eagles. You can also relax and enjoy your time by joining the kids at the in-ground heated swimming pool just a few feet from the home. Plenty of yard for a pickup game of waffle ball, kick ball or Frisbee. Shoot some hoops in the driveway's basketball court. Included in your stay is a tour of the property for all members in your group aboard the owner's side-by-side 4 seat all-terrain vehicle. You will bounce and bob through the woods and up the hill to just the perfect picnic spot overlooking the entire valley.

I was born and raised in Cooperstown and am now raising my family here as well. I enjoy sharing the beauty of our historic town with people through my vacation rental homes.
Chris Chandler purchased this house in 2007
This property is newly constructed and was built with your comfort in mind. It has all the latest amenities and comforts of you own home. My homes are centrally located and within 4 miles of Cooperstown as well as the Dream's Park.
You will not be disappointed with the location of this house to both Dreams Park and the center of Cooperstown…..also the views are amazing.
There are a few things to set your expectations.
There are 4 toilets /3 bathrooms in the house.
There is a single toilet in the laundry room (1st floor) with no sink, mirror or lock on the door.
There is a bathroom on the first floor with toilet, sink and standing shower. Its connected to the first floor bedroom but can also be accessed from hallway.
2nd floor has 2 full bathrooms (toilet, sink, shower/tub)
We had issues with the smell of the water in the house, there was a horrible sulfur smell that came from every shower and faucet in the house (even the kitchen). When you showered the entire house would smell like sulfur. I contacted Chris but received no response. We used bottled water for brushing our teeth it was so bad. Post our stay I reached out to Chris again with regards to the smell and he mentioned the house is on a chlorination system but obviously there was a problem with it while we were there.
The pool is a nice addition and the kids loved it, but note there are no lights so using the pool at night is not ideal.
Overall the house is an ideal location for the team families if you can manage through the items above and keep in mind it is a rental property.
House was perfect for three families! Close to the dreams park and downtown Cooperstown. Spacious kitchen and living area. The kids loved the bonus room. House was clean.
The owner of the property was very attentive and helpful throughout our stay. That is very important, so I want to stress that you will not be disappointed in that department. They even went as far as coming every couple of days to remove the garbage bags that we created. That was a nice touch.
The property was not what I expected. It was a bit run down on the inside. I realize this is a tough one, because it is baseball family after baseball family week after week throughout the summer. It was too dirty for my taste. My 9 year old even commented on it. That was a surprise.
The biggest drawback in my mind, is that this home does not provide EQUAL living space for each family. The listing says 5 bedrooms and 6 baths. If you read the fine print it says 5 bedrooms 4 baths. We expected to have 1 dedicated bathroom per family. In reality, there is a bedroom on the first floor with a bath that is shared by the rest of the main floor. Upstairs, there is a very large master bedroom with a dedicated large master bath....then you have 3 remaining bedrooms on the second floor that all technically would share the one smallish bathroom in the hallway. The 4th bathroom that the listing states is actually just a toilet (that's right, no sink) inside the laundry room on the main floor. So, if you know this going in and perhaps split the cost differently, that will be OK. For us, it felt like one family had all the private space and the rest had to share.
Also, the dining table only seats 6 people. This became a problem for us. But, again, if you know this going in, no big deal.
The pool was great as was the yard.
It was a very easy drive to The Dreams Park and downtown. That was excellent too. When I come back in a few years, I would consider this house again mainly based on location and the pool.
We had a wonderful stay at this home during our baseball team's week at Cooperstown Dreamspark. It could not have been more convenient to the park and the Village of Cooperstown - less than a 10 minute drive to each. My daughter squealed in delight when the house came into view! The home itself was spacious and clean and Chris (the manager) was very accessible and attended to our every need. In fact, he took our crew for multiple trips in his Razor (4 wheeler) to tour his property. The kids are still talking about how much fun that was. We really enjoyed the pool, basketball hoop and playing whiffle ball in the huge front yard.
The kids slept in the loft area (2 twin beds plus a couch) and the rest of us spread out in the 3 queen bed rooms and 1 king bed room. We were able to share the home between 3 families while the players stayed in the bunkhouses at the Dreamspark. Highly recommend this home to all when they visit Cooperstown!
We had a wonderful stay in this 5 bed/3.5 bath home while our son stayed at Cooperstown dreams park for baseball. We shared the home with my parents along with our three other children. There is plenty of space, and it was very clean.
The pool and the front yard were a bonus for the kids to swim and run around.
The place was a bit hard to find, Google Maps had it wrong, so use GPS coordinates when trying to locate it.
It was only 12 minute drive to the Dreamspark and 10 minutes into Cooperstown. Chris was around and available for anything we needed.
Will definitely recommend to other families coming in for baseball.
This was a great rental house on beautiful property! It was about 1/2 way between Cooperstown (downtown) & Dreams Park. It was very clean, & a perfect size for our group. All of the rooms were large & the bonus 5th room was a HUGE bonus! The weather our week did not allow as much time for the pool, but it was enjoyed also. I'm not sure if the title description was mixed up with the owners other house, but there are only 4 bathrooms (3 full/ 1 toilet), not 5. Was not a problem, just an observation. I would HIGHLY recommend this house to anyone spending a week in Cooperstown.
