About Andrew Marton

Andrew loves all things vintage and restores things as a hobby. Pam was an art major at UCLA and has a critical eye for decorating. Together they love maintaining this classic LA style home in the historic South Carthay Circle District.

Why Andrew Marton chose Los Angeles

Carthay Circle was developed by J. Harvey McCarthy in 1922. Centrally located, the neighborhood is comprised of 136 acres, but it is not circular, contrary to its name. The specific boundaries of Carthay Circle are Wilshire Boulevard to the north, South Fairfax Ave. to the East, Olympic Ave. to the south, and Schumacher Drive to the West. Carthay Circle's location most closely borders Beverly Hills with the lovely La Cienega Park nearby. This area was designed with all the utilities underground, which makes it especially attractive. No two homes are alike due to the rule that all homes had to be designed individually by an architect. Designs vary immensely; one can find Spanish, English, Colonial, Mediterranean, and Cape Cod style homes. Notable designers such as Paul Williams and Robert Byrd contributed to the designs of the area and many celebrity actors resided in Carthay Circle.

perfect place for a family visit

This is the ideal space for our multi-generation family to stay over during vacation time. My twin sister lives in this beautiful neighborhood, so it's the perfect way to visit my relatives and the local area. The bedrooms are plush and comfortable with plenty of drawer space. The shower water heats up quickly and has plenty of pressure. The kitchen is well-stocked with ready-to-use cooking utensils and antique highlights. The sunny side yard includes a bistro set plus an outdoor chaise lounge. The wi-fi signal is strong, which is important to us these days. ;) Even our senior-citizen relatives gave their seal of approval! The owner and the neighbor/greeter are polite, professional, and responsive. Thanks again for a wonderful stay!

Easy access and spaceous

We stayed 6 adults for 4 nights in the upper apartment, and extended the stay 2 more night as we had more to do in LA, then in the lower Apartment. I will recommend both; clean and Nice and great hospitality from the hosts

Quiet, central, spacious classic -comfortable elegance

My family including a young child and an elderly grandparent just spent a week at this fantastic property - the lower unit. We could not have been happier with our choice. During a record-breaking heatwave, the central air provided ultimate comfort. The spaciousness of the unit gave us ample room to enjoy ourselves inside and out. The layout makes it feel even larger than it is, and the large light-filled rooms were inviting and peaceful. The neighborhood is so lovely and felt safe for long walks even after dark. Conveniently located, we feel this unit is a true gem. Parking was never once an issue. The unit is extremely well appointed with lovely and exquisite touches, yet comfortable and sturdy enough for our 4 year-old to feel at home. The outside areas are absolutely marvelous and serene. Property was exceptionally clean and is managed with an obvious high degree of professionalism we don't usually enjoy with vacation rentals. Sarah was on hand to help with our needs and we appreciated having her nearby. Our upstairs neighbors were both friendly and we only noticed them when we crossed paths outside. Highly recommend this rental to anyone seeking refuge in a marvelous corner of historic LA!
