About the property

Open-concept Living/dining/kitchen To Back Sitting Area(den)

Enter the calming, open-concept oasis of 12 Stanley Avenue and find yourself surrounded by bright, natural light from the oversized south-facing windows and splashes of color from the mix of mid-century and contemporary furnishings and eclectic art. Gleaming white oak floors flow throughout the space and the combination living-dining room features an Italian marble-top table, perfect for formal dinners or spreading out the newspaper for a casual weekend brunch.

The fully stocked galley kitchen with top-of-the-line appliances is the central hub of the main floor and leads to a cozy nook for relaxing in front of the TV with full cable access. Floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors open to an enclosed deck bathed in afternoon sun.

Upstairs the luxurious surroundings continue, with the exquisite bathroom retreat, complete with heated floors and deep, soaker tub lit from above by an antique crystal candelabra chandelier for the ultimate bubble bath escape. The glass-surround shower stall and its rain-head fixture ensure an invigorating start to the day or a relaxing unwinding at day’s end.

The bathroom leads to an upper deck, shaded on one side by mature trees and offering a western view of spectacular sunsets on the other. Both bedrooms feature inviting, comfortable beds and luxurious linens: a king-sized in the master with windows overlooking Stanley Park, and a queen in the tranquil second bedroom.

An alcove office provides a zen-like private workspace and the basement surprises with its efficient washer-dryer combo and another full-size bathroom with its own soaker tub.

Other added touches you’ll appreciate at 12 Stanley include:

* Tesla Destination Charging Location

* Thick combed-cotton robes and slippers for your use during your stay.

* The use of an iPhone and charger for local Toronto-area calls. No need to worry about roaming fees!

* Breakfast on us: a gift card for Nadège, one of the area’s best bakeries. (Can also be used for a midday sandwich or for their mouth-watering macarons.)

* Green, 100% biodegradable bath products from a local salon.

Travelling with small children? Leave all the cumbersome gear behind -- we've got you covered!

Our family-friendly house comes complete with:

*Child-proof safety gate for the stairs

*Regulation highchair and booster seat

*Pack-n-play playpen/crib combination

*Games and puzzles inside and a neighbourhood park across the street, complete with playground, ping pong table, outdoor pool and splash pad!

We love kids -- so much so they stay for free (12 and under).

Welcome home.

These guys were wonderful from beginning to end and I would highly recommend this beautiful house to anyone looking for a centrally located oasis. We were walking distance from everywhere we wanted to be, the house was clean and comfortable and our hosts were beyond helpful. This is "the" place to stay in Toronto!

A Haven in Toronto!

  • 5 of 5

For all those people who are afraid to rent a home sight unseen, try this beautiful home in Toronto. It is just like the photo and super clean! The beds were very comfortable and plenty of extra linen. The French bakery Nadege is not to be missed and is a quick walk, as is many bars and restaurants. Please eat at Burger Priest you will not be sorry! John the owner makes the phrase "Nice Matters" a reality again! John was so helpful and available to any questions and even printed out our City Pass and brought it right to us in 10 minutes. Check out was also a breeze and our security deposit was returned within 24 hours, the fastest we have ever experienced and we have rented a dozen times over the years. So thank you again for making our trip to Toronto so comfortable and relaxed !

This property is a delight with all the amenities of home. Nicely stocked with all the kitchen gadgets and tools needed, great linens (towels & sheets), comfortable beds, heated floors and AC for the hot days, and a great location very close to the Queen Street West area that is filled with shops and food. John has put time and effort into ensuring that a stay here is as good as you can have!

Great base for a Toronto adventure

  • 5 of 5

we joined another couple on a one-week holiday from the USA. The owner's communications, instructions and recommendations prior to our arrival were excellent, very helpful. The place was spotless, attractively furnished, very comfortable for two couples, well equipped and stocked, very private and secure, in a safe neighborhood. Very much appreciated the off-street parking in the back. Very conveniently located near public transportation and within easy walking distance of many attractions, shops, restaurants, parks, etc. This would definitely be our first choice for a stay on a return visit to beautiful Toronto.

Lovely home, great location

  • 5 of 5

We were a family of four (my husband and me, our teenage son and adult daughter). We had a wonderful time and loved this home. It was very comfortable, with enough space to spread out and relax. The beds were very comfortable, too, including the futon my daughter slept on. The kitchen is well-stocked, and the entire house was immaculate with a lot of attention to little details that make you feel at home and cared-for. The neighborhood is awesome - we loved being near Queen Street and its shops and restaurants, and also enjoyed Trinity Bellwoods park - a lovely place to walk around, and also home to a neighborhood center with a gym I used several times. Great restaurants in the area, too: Mamakas (Greek), Montgomery's (Canadian Tapas is the only way to describe it), Local Kitchen (inventive Italian), Terroni (traditional but terrific Italian with a garden in back - we ate here twice), and Loaded Pierogi (fun for lunch). Next time I'm in Toronto, we will definitely come back to this rental. John was also very responsive and helpful. A great find - highly recommended without hesitation!

Perfect location , excellent house

  • 5 of 5

John has thought of everything in terms of facilities and convenience . We were 5 adults requiring 4 beds so the combination of the 2 sofabeds worked very well . We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and found the location near all the interesting shops and restaurants on Queen St a great advantage . The parking spot was a huge plus (despite not owning a Tesla !) as we had a lot of to and fro trips with last minute details for our daughter's wedding . It was great to know there would always be somewhere to put 1 car. 2nd vehicle was also easy to leave in the parking lot a block away .

2 very minor comments (that in no way affected our enjoyment ) are that it might be a good idea to put a strip of something contrasting with the wood floor along the small step in the upper hallway . It is easy to miss the step and just a band with a slight change of colour along the edge of the step may prevent an accident as it is easy to miss the step .

Secondly the corners of the top and bottom half walls are rather sharp where the plaster has worn away revealing metal . I am only mentioning this as my husband was using this part of the staircase wall to support himself as he had a broken leg and he needed to steady himself with a hand on these corners .

Both these things one would likely not notice unless you had a broken leg and were unsteady on your pins !

Thank you John for a very easy booking process and a lovely house . Definitely highly recommended .
